The FN SCAR 15P pistol is an absolute blast to shoot. Once you master the shooting technique, it becomes a viable option for a truck gun.
Just take a look at the proportions on the 15p. It's a sight to behold, especially when you attach a suppressor to it. This gun transforms into a photogenic monster.
Now, I didn't go overboard with modifications on the 15p.
I know some of you might be itching to discuss the limitations of the 223/556 round coming out of a 7.5-inch barrel, and I acknowledge there are valid points to be made. But let's not forget that every firearm has its limits.
In my opinion, the 15p performs best within 100 yards or less, given its prioritization of maneuverability in confined spaces like homes or vehicles.
It was born to be a suppressed truck gun, and let me tell you, I absolutely adore it. I fell even more in love with it when I discovered how incredibly flat this rifle shoots in its suppressor setting.
At just 20 yards, I can hit a small plate with ease. It's like I'm sitting in front of an 85-inch flat-screen TV.
This is definitely a niche gun.
By niche, I mean it's perfect for those who have an unwavering love for the SCAR platform and for those who have grown tired of ARs and want something that's not only fun to shoot but also suitable for self-defense.
Sure, it may not be the rifle I'd choose for a war zone, but it certainly makes a strong case for being an excellent choice for urban dwellers.

truck gun to me is usually a pump 12 gauge or 30 30 haha. I guess the definition of it has changed a bit in the last few years.

I think if all the criminals have SBR's, we civilians should have them too. As Collion knows, we here in Texas are full of cartel sicarios. I am tired of being outgunned and so are the police.
An SBR isn't more lethal than a standard 16inch. It's less. You want max lethality out of a 556 you want 18-20.

Truck guns are the most underrated weapons in the gun community.
Everybody either wants their full size tactical ar15 or a CCW handgun, but small portable rifles that you can fit in a backpack are crucial for anyone who wants to have good firepower while maintaining a low profile, ESPECIALLY in urban environments.
I use my PS90 as a truck/pdw.
You can hide a 16 in AR inside of a truck.
@@es4583 You can't hide an easily/quickly deployable 16 in AR inside a backpack though. You can do that with a 10 in AR and a law folder.
@@hk4lyfe59 you cant hide and quickly deploy ANY size AR from a backpack even if its 10 in and has a law folder. If you are in a warzone and your weapon is inside a a backpack you are dead.

My favorite gun by far is my SCAR 17S with a silencer central suppressor
This Scar 15P will be in my EDC truck gun rotation along with my FN 57. I want it tricked out like the one shown in this video without the can. Plain and simple. If nothing else to have her at-home defense partner. As always thanks for another awesome review.

After firing the 308 version, I have to say, the SCAR is the smoothest rifle I've ever fired.

The Malkoff E1HT head or similar is likely a good option for a truck gun since it gives a lot of throw for a 1-cell set-up. It gives more capability outside, especially in an urban environment. It seems like the low candela lights tend to wash out due to the street lights, signs, etc. I'm going to be swapping my Elzetta Alpha out for something like that.

I think the crossover is "bag guns" and "truck guns" since they are basically the same criteria. Practically, I think your logic makes a lotta sense. The most reliable at the least cost.

Very much agree. I love guns and literally always have. I have a lot of guns but only three that I regularly use. My Hellcat RDP literally goes with me every time I step out my door. If I’m going outside my small town and going to be more in the country my 556 with LPVO is with me, if I’m going to a bigger city I’ll take my 10.5” 300 BLK with a red dot. As much as I would love to I can’t afford to I have a gun for literally every scenario imaginable. If I did have the money I have would definitely have a lot more but still Would probably I have my “go to guns” The ones that when you shoot it feels like it’s impossible to miss.
Would have been a much more effective platform in 300blk instead of 5.56.

Yeah, it’s alright. Personally I think I like the proportions of the 11” barrel SCAR a little better.
I'll take a zpap92 with all the fixings over any 556 pistol. If I'm gonna spend that much on a truck gun, I might as well have the stopping power and spend the extra money left over on upgrades. I'm not burned out by the AR platform. I'm burned out from years of service with the rodent round 556. The AR platform has always been boring.

Apart from the crappy ballistics, the number one drawback is FN will void your warranty if you suppress it. And on that short of a barrel with 556 if you’re not suppressing it, you’re gonna go deaf in a truck.
Now that FN has entered the suppressor game, just wait - they will make 556 and 762 cans that will be unique in that they do not void your warranty.

You'd want a short barreled, stockless SCAR-17 until you feel the recoil. There's a reason M14s and other battle rifles are usually semi auto.

I will never understand the price justification for any SCAR. I once talked to a guy who was an operator in Afghanistan and he hated using the SCAR. There is nothing the SCAR can do that an $1500 AR-15 can't do.
