lol the director told her that she was too pretty to play the role, however, she did it excellently so she got the role. Tbh keira made elizabeth way more beautiful than jane.

I've been watching Pride and Prejudice edits for YEARS now, and each one always shows a lot of dedication and love for the story. But this one? This edit has to be the most beautiful one I have *ever* seen. It perfectly emphasizes the artistic value of the movie!! You took great use of the cinematography in the film!! My favorite movie! The book was a favorite as well, but really this movie...the imagery, the aesthetics, the acting.. Joe Wright made the best job I've ever seen in translating a period story into a contemporary movie, still maintaining the look & feel of old era, keeping the original dialogues, but yet making it seem so present and relatable! Keira and Matthew have amazing chemistry and for a love story where they are barely allowed to touch, these two somehow make it look real and organic. I know the BBC '95 version gets the most praise, but this one is the real genius adaptation of
the classic novel...
The 1995 version is probably the more "authentic" and I love it. But this version really helps you understand Mr Darcy and have a lot more sympathy for him. I love it too. And I love, love, love the music!
Hands down……the BEST two actors playing in this movie
They are one of the reasons I believe in love. Even after all the pain that I've been through throughout the years loving someone who I know I shouldn't but can't let go of. I believe that one day I will find a love like theirs. I don't think it gets much better than that.

This is my favorite compilation of scenes from the 2005 film of Pride and Prejudice. The video's clarity is amazing. I really appreciate that in connection with Matthew Macfadyen's portrayal of Mr. Darcy. Since Darcy is such a reticent man, you have to be able to read the subtleties of his facial expressions in order to discern what he is thinking at any given moment. Macfadyen gave a powerful performance.
Out of all the versions of Pride and Prejudice I favor this Elizabeth the best. I have watched it numerous this sometimes and never tired of it!

I was listening to P&P on Audible at work and when Mr. Collins proposes I, not so gently, set down a stack of papers. Then I laughed because I was upset about what a 200 year old fictional character just said. I love how stories reach across time and dimensions.
