- I have fallen in love with mr darcy because he is an introvert like me.
Introverts are all the same.
We lay awake at night and/or spend an hour in the shower thinking about every failed social interaction we've ever had. We cringe & create great comebacks 10 years too late. Then we hate ourselves for ever even trying. We "do not have the talent of conversing easily with people we have never met before." Actually... we don't have the talent to converse with anyone ever.

I'M OBSESSED. GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE HOPING TO FIND A DARCY IN 2024 DESPITE BEING A DARCY MYSELF. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. EXCELLENT POTATOES.
Everyone dream of mr darcy
I’m a kitty 😭
Being a Mr. Darcy myself, I feel extremely fortunate to have found my love 7 years ago ❤️
I myself is also Mr. Darcy hoping to find my Mr. Darcy as well. May we find our own Mr. Darcy this year.
I'm so glad to know there are more ppl obsessed with him....he is my forever crush
The proposal in the rain was the most hilarious yet one of the most romantic scenes I’ve ever seen😂😂 It’s the way he just literally says “Tbh I’m too rich and upper-class to be even associating with you and your poor ass family but you kinda cute tho”💀💀💀💀
Fr he’s like I’m going to insult your whole family and oh yea I like you
BRUH 🗿
Bence Darcy'nin Elizabeth 'in ailesi hakkında söyledikleri doğru. Bu suç mu?Elizabeth'in tavırları özgüvenden yoksun.Sanki aşırı tavırlarıyla kendini kanıtlamaya çalışıyor.
It's so ridiculous I can only laugh every time it plays. Elizabeth the whole time looks like "???"
@@user-nl9pr8kr2j I don't see Elizabeth your way. She is definitely a no-nonsense girl who tries to please. Being outspoken doesn't make her rude.
As an introvert I’ve always felt for Darcy. He is so obviously trying to cover his social awkwardness by pretending he is above it all.
Being introvert is not necessarily same as being socially awkward. I really think he manages his interactions well when he wants to, he just doesn't want it too much. Darcy is not shy.
@@goranmilic442 Agreed, he isn't shy. He seems to be introverted. He admits he doesn't know how to mingle with people beyond the people he's already well-acquainted with, which happens to be other upper-class people. If he was poor, it would make him look endearing but because he's wealthy, the audience and Elizabeth consider that maybe Darcy is a snobbish guy - like Mr Bingley's sister.
@@rainy4354 Yes.
Not in thr least. Nor is he introverted. He is reserved.
People are getting this brilliant send up mixed up with the character in the book
@@dawnjohnson3263 Alot of things are getting muddled between this movie and the book because in the movie and most modern interpretations they pull a love at first sight thing...But in the books he makes it perfectly clear that he doesn't find anyone at the ball attractive (they're all beneath him) and there's a line about looking at her properly only to criticize her. He falls for her slowly after he sees how charming she is.
No skin show , no vulgar words romantic scene. with only eye glance. Best film
So true! I could watch this with my 5 and 3 year old grandsons and not worry if they come into the room while they play (thoug my 5 year old sees ANY couple kissing and just says YUCK!) LOL! This is by far my favorite version of this wonderful story. THIS is ROMANCE at it's BEST! :)
@@annieromanowski7730 so true. Most skin show disturb minds. As 90 s kid. I prefer 1980 old film becos of less kissing scene no nudity they are best. . I was raised by grandparent so i am old fashion
This was funny , thanks
Yes!!! I’m on the younger side of Gen z but I absolutely love and much prefer these types of films. 2005’s pride and prejudice is the only film that gives me such butterflies in my stomach😭😭❤️❤️
@@Ggggg1ggggWas that the one with Colin Firth? And if you haven't seen Sense and Sensibility, fine the version with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Greg Wise....It was Absolutely Outstanding!
I LOOOOVE how this fandom is still so alive!! I needed a new edit of this like oxygen
Dude, this fandom is just over two centuries old, IT WILL NEVER DIE!!! 😂😅❤
Me too!
That fandom is 200+ years olde my dear friend )))) I'd say Mr.Darcy's cult is first ever based on the fictional character desperate following, there's Juliet of course, but she's a lady and her story is tragic - ppl kinda like it)) whist Darcy is a guy plus he MADE IT))) I'd like to see a remake or something titled exactly like so: The Introvert Who Made It into Romantic Happiness))))
@@CairistionaO too true 😂
He really does have the prettiest blue eyes.
Fine Irish boy ❤
People forget Mr Darcy was prideful from the start. We get to know that Darcy's introverted, but to overcome that; he attempts to act like he's above people. He used his position of power and wealth as an excuse to not explore his social awkwardness. Even surprised Elizabeth when he said it was because "he didn't know anyone of his own party" like, dude! You were still stand-offish instead of polite! I maintain that both he and Elizabeth were both prejudiced. Darcy's prejudice was based on *what he saw* whereas Elizabeth's prejudice was based on *what she heard* i.e. from Mr Wickham. They both had to overcome much of their own stereotypes based on each other, that's how they fell in love so deeply. Jane Austen, you are a genius !!
Darcy is not introverted in the book. In this wonderful depiction he is portrayed so
Thus the name of the book: Pride and Prejudice
God I love how Bingley gets borderline bullied to throw a ball at his own property by a bunch of teenage girls 😅😅 Just goes to show teenagers have mastered the art of persuasion, be it the Euphoria era or the Regency era.
In the book he wanted to, and they only reminded him after a while. It was his own idea first. :)
@@Izabela-ek5nh I remember...this movie took alot of liberties and added a lot of modern sensibilities, which I adore. Especially loved their interpretation of Bingley as this golden retriever bc that's exactly how I pictured him as well!!
Considering how domineering both his sisters and best friend were, it makes sense he got attracted to the introvert amongst the Bennet sisters.
I’m autistic and I didn’t understand this movie so I want to thank you so much because I was so confused throughout. A lot of facial expressions and silence I don’t understand 😭 also they speak differently of course. This made me like the movie, I can’t wait to rewatch!!
Would love to help you to truly appreciate this film! But I do not know what you need!
Many social cues are subtle, and it is further complicated by social rules that no longer esiste. How can I help you?
Jane Austen's novels are Definitely worth the effort!
@@wordsculptwhat a wholesome comment 🥲
It’s definitely a movie that goes hand-in-hand with the book. It translates ✨the vibe✨beautifully, but many find it lackluster on its own. It’s very much a slow movie in a slow fashion / food sense.
I always enjoyed the 1980 BBC version with Elizabeth Garvie playing Miss Elizabeth Bennett. If you get ro re-watch, consider that version too.
Please consider seeing the entire movie, not this one, which is fun, but it’s only part of the story, in bits and pieces, chopped up with a variety of scenes and added comments.
And of course, there is always the book, “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen, which will be the original & true version of the story in the author’s words.
“At least their potatoes were excellent” HAHAHA!!!! That killed me.
Same 😂😂
The last scene where he just keeps saying “Mrs. Darcy” over and over. Ughhh my heart swells and I get teary eyed every time
“fellow introverts laughing but also feeling his pain”
So accurate😂
This^
Darcy in the book is NOT an introvert. He is just so rich and high status that he doesn’t know how to socialize. He’s never had to be nice and polite because everyone kisses his ass. But he’s also loyal and generous to the people he’s close to.
I never read the book so can I ask, if he was generous and good but not nice and not an introvert, he was like a good person but rude? A good, extrovert but rude person? Or like nice to friends but rude to strangers? And he was rude because he thought he was superior or because he didn't know how to behave with strangers? If its the last, I think that counts as kind of an introvert. Sorry for the rant Im just confused
“I certainly have not the talent which some people possess,” said Darcy, “of conversing easily with those I have never seen before. I cannot catch their tone of conversation, or appear interested in their concerns, as I often see done.” Quote as it was in the book. A case could be made that he was a bit of an introvert, but this film leaned pretty heavily into that idea.
@@fandelmazapan the concept of introvert and extrovert didn’t exist in the early 19th century. So it’s hard to say how Jane Austen would have thought about this. People were much more concerned with whether or not someone behaved in the correct manner according to their station. So the very wealthy elites like Darcy and Lady Catherine were allowed to be rude because they were so far superior to everyone else. For example Mr. Collins thinks Lady Catherine is wonderful because she “condescends” to be concerned about him. Mr. Darcy is used to people thinking of him this way. The community the Bennetts live in is actually quite strange in that they don’t care for Darcy’s manners. But I don’t think they’re used to having someone of Darcy’s station around. The local manor of Netherfield has been empty for a while and gets rented out. So the local lord is absent or non existent. Darcy is a good person but would be considered rude by our standards but at the time his behavior was correct for his station. The Bennetts and the other locals just don’t seem to like him because he won’t dance with any of the ladies which means he’s not open to marrying any of them. This is the cardinal sin because the opening line of the book states “a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife”.
@@strngenchantedgirlexactly, well put!
@@summerreadingnookThat line is like the most introverted thing ive ever heard.
Being introverted, arrogant and proud at the same time should be a crime.
He has no arrogance. He is reserved and discerning in others
@@dawnjohnson3263 Yes, he is arrogant, especially when he believes he has enough judgment to validate an assumption about the quality or lack of Elizabeth's sister's love
We all long for someone like Mr.Darcy not realising we ARE him
It never gets old😂
Right you are ❤
Thanks for such a clever and beautiful video. I am obsessed with th is film. Matthew Macfadyen is perfection as Darcy and has created the most romantic character in film, IMHO. With his eyes and his voice (and his awkward fiddling fingers throughout the film) he portrays an aching vulnerability that even the magnificent Colin Firth could not muster. And he dances so elegantly, as well.
Hear. Hear.... I second that. MacFayden is a babe.....all that eye contact was all that was needed
.he "nailed" all that staring. Lol
This is a great edit. This is exactly how I have always read Mr. Darcy’s character. He was not prideful, he was simply an introvert. Elizabeth was raised in a big and busy household, she was very used to being surrounded by many other people. Mr. Darcy only had his much younger sister. Their backgrounds also leads to personality traits.
The person who made this edit, is a comedic genius.😂 This is just what i never knew i needed😅
😂😂😂
That mother talks WAAYYYYYY too much..
This was the funniest commentaries I've seen about one of my most favorite movies.
Nobody ever adds in the last scene. IT MAKES ME SCREAAAAAM
Which last scene? The last chapter of the book..?
I had never seen it! Is it like a DVD extended scene?
@saragranado3471 i believe that it was included as an ending to the american release but not the british one. i think the dvds were different too!
Love the description, so sweet and so touching:
We lay awake at night and/or spend an hour in the shower thinking about every failed social interaction we've ever had. We cringe & create great comebacks 10 years too late. Then we hate ourselves for ever even trying. We "do not have the talent of conversing easily with people we have never met before." Actually... we don't have the talent to converse with anyone ever.
i want to be darcy but im kitty and mr bingly combined
😂 I want a Darcy but I'm a Mary and Darcy combined
the comic sans I CAN’T 🤣🤣🤣
The propsal "incident" was my favorite part 😂😂😂 incrediable editing!! I was laughing the whole way through the video 😂
13:22 to 14:22 absolutely killed me!! It kept getting funnier and somehow more relatable the longer it went on. 😂
I can never get enough of this movie!!!
this film never fails to make me feel things no matter how many times I watch it
This edit is so perfect. All the comments, shaking screen affects, and sound affects brought new context to this very much loved classic. It is "thoroughly agreeable" 🤭. Thanks so much - l loved this
Wow I forgot how awkward this movie is🤣🤣🤣
smiling twirling kicking my feet up blushing having the best time of my life thank you for this video
OMG I had some great belly laughs watching this, thank you so much, just what I needed to lift my spirits!
The memes and text are gold 😂 as a fellow introvert I can relate to him, which probably means I’ll never get my own Mr. Darcy.
I am just 2 minutes in, and I can’t stop laughing!!! 😂😂 I love this! I loved how you described perfectly my feelings in minutes 2:41 😂… I recently watched this movie and has become my favorite movie ❤
Reading the introvert commentary helps me to understand the movie. There were some body language n signals i didnt catch when i saw the movie. You have to really pay attention!
This edit is killing me!!! I needed all of these zoom in moments of the 2005 masterpiece. Thank you queen
Everyone that loves this and hasn’t seen the BBC version with Colin firth from the 90s NEEDS TO! He’s the definitive Darcy in my eyes, I’m jealous of anyone that gets to watch this for the first time!!
I love Collin Firth but can't bring myself to watch his version because I love this one so much❤
lol I felt the same and watched the Keira knightly version with detached interest. Still doesnt stack up to the bbc one for me! Colin Firth’s Darcy is less emotional and more uptight, but my God the look he gave Lizzy when she played piano with his sister was SO romantic. The how the film was made book they brought out after it did so well was really cool to read too.
I love both versions
1000% facts. It’s my goto
This was so well edited I couldn't stop laughing, well done. 😂
As someone who's a Darcy stan, I can't imagine what his pitch would have been to Bingley had Elizabeth accepted his prior proposal.
Remember that family I went out of my way to discourage your alliance with ? yeah yeah, ima marry their daughter. Oh not the one you were hopelessly in love with, sheesh I could never, her younger sister however...Guess what ?
She finally handsome enough to tempt me now *wink wink*
The piano scene edit...Im in piecessss
That was hilarious!!! Loved this edit!
The “hello there” that you snuck in 😂😂😂
Darcy admits to holding life long grudges ~red flag! Clearly feels he is vastly superior to the locals, and is shocked that he’s attracted to one of them. Another red flag. However, his lust for her forces him to secretly cover up a scandal in her family, which Elizabeth views as kindness and in the end, his great fortune and position in Society wins the day.
I love Jane Austen’s books!
What a fantasticl edit of my very favorite version of Jane Austen's beautiful work. This was truly HILARIOUS! Thank you so much - I'm now a subscriber. God bless! :)
It kind of does explain his odd behavior.
The visit to Elizabeth at the cottage is sooo painful to watch ( said as an introvert). He even made Elizabeth insecure and shes normally excellent at handling socially awkward or challenging moments. Every time I watch that part i literally die inside
I have literal physical chest pains every time 😂😂😂
Literally i love the captions on the proposal scene so much. I'm decorating my first classroom and i want to print them out and stick them in my teacher corner 😂 "ur family is lowkey trash" i mean c'mon! Unfortunately I'm not an English teacher where we would even do Austen but that wouldn't have to stop me 😂
Per me uno dei più bei film che abbia mai visto, attori eccellenti e atmosfere magiche....lo adoro e non mi stanco mai di rivederlo ❤
This is of the most fun edits i ve ever watched😂😂😂😂😂
this edit is so freaking hilarious and well done omg i'm so glad it was recommended to me great job
This is the best thing ever. Im grateful to stumble upon this.

I've watched this probably 20 times in the last week. That's ten hours of my life THAT I DON'T WANT BACK. Keep it, its yours. You've earned it.

Ps. Her rubbing his leg at 28:37 is such a wifey thing to do and it only melts my heart more 😭😭
Cuando vi la sonrisa de Darcy por primera vez me cautivó tanto que quedé fechada😍😍.
That's why this is my favourite Darcy. Totally relatable.
I never thought of it like that. Must be why is my favorite love story
I simply fell in love with Purnell's "Round O" the first time I heard it. It's music🎶 that you can easily get lost in.
First, you're listening, then you find yourself 'Remembering' as a smile gently spreads across your face.
For Lizzy and Mr. Darcy, it doesn't matter about their external grimace. For each, "they are the Only Two in the room"💞
Love the edits to my favorite parts of my favorite adaptation of this movie! Bravo!
This is one of the best edits I’ve ever seen thank you
Hilarious video you made! I love it!! 😂😂😂😂

17:09 I understand the Obi-Wan reference.
And I love... I love this video hahaha
Absolutely in love with mr darcy (and this wondeful video)
Great movie!! Great actors!!! All of them!!!
I love this movie so much i watch it at least 5 or 6 times a year. And then Sense and Sensibility a couple. This will be my all time favorite.
This was the best !!! Ty !!!!❤❤❤❤
The commentator’s thoughts echo mine. I have watched this movie many times and never tire of its freshness. That Jane Austen understood relationships much as we do today is a reminder that we humans didn’t just start having meaningful interactions…it’s been going on for eons.
Loved this!❤️
Love me, love my Darcy diffidence.
