  • The very last arrangements for the Danube passage are maid plus most of the fittings attached.
    Thumbs up for the Sikaflex 291i that is both a sealant and also a bonding agent
    Some of the paintjobs were not filed due to the very limited time window.
    I used a polyurethane paint from a local supplier, so far I am very happy with it!

    I like the covered bow and the little fairing piece to route the water off to the side. I see this on some dinghys that will encounter waves. Very good.

    Beautifull Build Captain that Plastic Paint Tray for the little Roller looked like a Accident waiting to happen i’ve used a lot of those mini Rollers myself and i prefer a Plastic Full. sized Roller Pans with those flimsy plastic throwaway liners that allow me to safely move the paint Tray around my decks without fearing the whole thing is going to bend in half and spill every drop often i will Paint or Varnish my 30 footer Woody while Standing either in a Dinghy or a Floating Dock so i need to concentrate on working those lines and balancing the thing i’m using when the Paint Tray can be safely moved around with one hand it makes things easier FYI it tends to make me conserve materials using the bigger sized pans because you have a bigger area to thin out the Roller Pads ! i really like that with my pricier Varnishes and other Finishes as well as having a little extra Control on multiple coat applications for myself when the weather oppurtunity hits and i get in the Mood i might do 15 plus coats on a 2 Day Weekend as i have been doing Marine WorknOff and On for over 40 years and it’s kind of Therapeutic and Enjoyable to do ! FYI i’m a retired Professional Woodworker !

    Oh, I thought that would be a film of the launch Cap'n! She really looks ready. I'm sure you will work out the sun shade quickly and be wetting her soon enough.

    I'm sure you've answered this hundreds of times, but which Selway Fisher design is this?
    I'm guessing a Kingfisher 14.
    Is that right?
    Thanks.

    • @wulkie
      @wulkie  Před 2 lety

      Yes. Kingfisher 14!

      Nice boat.
      I always move on down the page to the 14 foot Stornoway.
      But I must admit your videos have given me a new found appreciation for the Kingfisher.
      Well done.

    So your not drilling out bigger holes, then filling with thickened epoxy to drill again with the final hole? All that work only to have your boat rot around all your deck fittings.

    • @wulkie
      @wulkie  Před 2 lety

      Not sure if it is worth the effort. The boat will not be exposed to the elements on a permanent basis

    Hi Captain Wulkie, do you want to make it as an electric driven boat, we could provide battery management system board for you. Best wishes. Enjoy your float!
