There are places and things to see in Slovenia that are 100 times more interesting than Bled. And as in any country, you need to go outside the main tourist attractions (like Bled) to actually experience the real Slovenia. Visit the Koroska region! :D

I also recommend a travel guide like Lonely Planet Slovenia. :) So here goes, in no particular order... -Lipica (royal horses) -Velika Planina (hiking and gorgeous views) -Triglav National Park (stunning mountains and lakes, beyond beautiful) -Bohinj (a lake & town next to TNP and the non-tourist version of Bled) -Ptuj (wine country) -Postojna (worth seeing the Postojna cave and Postojna medieval castle set in a cliff, but touristy) -Slovenj Gradec (small town close to the Austrian border with a lot to offer: hiking, skiing, mountain biking, skydiving, and great food) -Logarska Valley (so much to do and see) -Soca River (rafting and swimming in one of the most beautiful rivers I've ever seen) There is something for everyone, so I'm sure that whatever you choose you'll love. I also HIGHLY recommend any of the bajillion day spas (terme) in Slovenia where you can swim and relax all day, perfect in winter. Hope this helps!

If you go on business in Slovenia, why do Slovenians try to have small talk and such before a meeting? In the West(UK, USA, Australia, etc) They ask, 'how are you,' then just move on, but NOT in MOST Slavic countries. In Slavic lands, they try to get to know their business partners a bit more before moving on to the project. Why is that?
Slovenia is at the top of EU member states in terms of the suicide rate, also it is one of the most corrupted countries. Besides its natural beauty there really isn't anything nice I could say about it. Unfortunatelly its politicians, misguided government and character of slovenian people (apathetic, envy, stingy) makes it really hard to live a happy life in this country. I recommend you to look into Denmark or Sweden if you are serious about moving. Good luck! :)
