- Intense interest in CBD as a medical treatment far exceeds its known benefits. A purified form of CBD recently gained FDA approval as therapy for several uncommon forms of epilepsy that begin in childhood and resist standard anti-seizure medications. A closer look at Epidiolex offers some insight into the benefits and risks of CBD.
Epidiolex is 98% pure CBD with less than 0.1% THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana. Even at a maintenance dose of about 700 mg for a 150 individual, the rate of seizures in the Lennox-Gastaut form of epilepsy fell by an average of only 50%. The likelihood of complete remission with CBD treatment appears remote.
Side effects of this form of CBD included sedation, lethargy, fatigue, decreased appetite, diarrhea, weight loss and insomnia. Some abnormalities of liver function tests indicate the possibility of a degree of hepatotoxicity.
The CBD available to the consumer - either from a dispensary, a home delivery service, the internet or a variety of questionable sources - ranges from relatively harmless to potentially quite toxic. Recent testing of CBD from a wide range of sources reveals significant mislabeling with some samples testing positive for synthetic cannabinoids, polyaromatic hydrocarbons and THC in excess of the legal limit of 0.3%.
Urine and serum drug testing detects THC derivatives but not CBD. Unfortunately the laboratory results may be positive with more concentrated THC. High doses of CBD may contain sufficient THC to cause problems with workplace testing. At a level of 0.3% THC, a 25 mg dose of CBD will contain 0.075 mg of THC but a 1000 mg dose of CBD has 3.0 mg.
This guy knows what he is talking about. His videos are so informative and he clearly does very good research
Also the plants neeed to come from the sun. Comparing the sun to artifical lighting is very important.
Excellent explanation so far ~

Hey Doc can you please do a video on CHS (Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome) giving your opinions on it? This would be very helpful for a huge group of people with very few resources to learn about this illness

how doest work of proximal hamstring tendinopathy?
I was thinking of trying this stuff for anxiety because many people seem to rave about its anti anxiety effects.. I bought a bottle from a company online that seemed to get good reviews and had some lab work done.. I don't know the dosage I would need so i tried it and I didn't really notice too much of an effect ... But i didn't notice much of an effect when I tried lexapro either. I was thinking about giving it another try, but it just seems like the wild west .. Everyone's trying to profit, you hear a million different things... Who do you believe? And it's very expensive stuff , especially if you end up needing a higher dose.
It does work, mate
@@MrGothic78 how much do you take and what kind?
@@Guinea54 I'm in Europe, and here, in my Country, it's the only legal weed, so I smoke it. It often contains an average 20% amount, and you can smoke it whenever you need it. It helped me tapering clonazepam, which I used to ingest in horrible amounts, because I suffer from anxiety, too. Of course you can obtain medically- prescribed Cbd, in droplets, doctors are no longer reluctant to prescribe it. I hope it helps. Cheers
@@MrGothic78 thank you.. yeah i tried the tincture once but i didn't really notice much, maybe it wasn't a high enough dose. So when you smoke it im assuming its the "CBD flower"
@@Guinea54 Yes, exactly!
Please make a video about Doxepin thank you love the show and this videos you're pretty cool
Valium. Please. Next video. Thanks Dr.
he's already done valium
No sir. He’s done Xanax, Clonazepam and Fentanyl but not Valium (Diazepam).
@@hicko92 Diazepam is an entry level benodiazepine that is on the weaker end, with a longer half-life and active metabolites. It earned the nickname "Mother's Little Helpers" for being the most prescribed benzodiazepine of all time, especially in earlier years. It's useful in-line with other treatments that benzodiazepines are useful for, also the go to treatment for alcohol withdrawal and treatment, same with benzodiazepine addiction and treatment. Though, valium isn't always firstline. I think in specific cases, someone with a seizure disorder would be better off taking Clonazepam. It comes in most typically dispensed at 10mgs.
Valium saved my life from dystonic reaction
Ya need testing opern it up to testing
Rest in peace.
Change the thumnail, doctor!
Weedborn oils are good for this.
6:32 interesting
I wish my MD explain medicine like this ⬆️ love ❤️ love thanks for doing this. For us 🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️
The simple answer is that just because a person is a MD. does not mean that she /he knows about cannabis. This particular one has familiarized himself with it. Remember MDs do not know everything under the sun about health care matters.
Please do THC
Some people gets anxiety and panic attacks from THC. CBD is the opposite, it even helped me with tapering clonazepam! Cheers
@@MrGothic78 I had a panic attack 3 months ago from too much THC and still not the same . Used to come in waves, it's almost like I was getting reintoxicated, but even when I wasn't getting the waves I am not a 100% and now I have very bad anxiety from feeling like a dull blade for 3 months , and can't sleep at night . THC messed me up, I have been smoking CBD to sleep better , but I am always paranoid that it's making it worse . I did try clonazepam for 20 days, when I got off it, I didn't sleep for a while week. I don't even know if the THC business is done in my body or not, I just feel out of it all day and night , it's very scary, I never wish this on my worst enemy.
Always buy the pure flower buds. there is so many fakes on market
I started taking 20% cbd and experienced pain in my heart then I stopped it immediately. I suspect it lowered my blood circulation.
This is truw
32 grand is fucking ridiculous.
