    Excellent! I came here with the very question you addressed and explained so clearly (how to understand difference between Antisocial Personality Disorder and Psychopathy). You’ve been so helpful - thank you

    I’m honestly starting to wonder if I’m a sociopath. My therapist says she doesn’t think I am (and that I’m pathologizing myself), but I have absolutely no empathy, and I’m all the phobics and ists.

    No one ever seems to pick up on sociopathy especially during the abuse manipulation.

    • @PsychExamReview
      @PsychExamReview  Před 4 lety +1

      We're likely all more susceptible to manipulation than we imagine and even experts have admitted to falling into that trap and catching themselves being charmed by psychopaths they are studying.

      avoid all or nothing thinking. you say "no one." if there is even one exception to your statement, you cannot use "no one." for example, you may say "too often," "unfortunately some / many / most / nearly all," but not "no one."

    How can you know if someone is a Psychopath if they know about the test?
    I mean, they are manipulative.. there is a high chance that they can manipulate the test answers also..
    You can correct me, if I'm wrong..

    • @PsychExamReview
      @PsychExamReview  Před 2 lety +1

      This is a great question and definitely an important issue. In some ways this demonstrates why assessment needs to be somewhat subjective (so an assessor can make a judgment about whether someone seems to be manipulating answers) without being too subjective and allowing an assessor's assumptions or biases to influence scoring too heavily. Getting this balance right is a major challenge not just in psychopathy but for many areas of psychological assessment. In the case of psychopathy, Jon Ronson's book The Psychopath Test does a great job of exploring some of these issues (see the link in the description box).

      Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind. I've stopped pre-writing all the notes for videos in order to force me to slow down more frequently throughout the video. I initially wrote notes while talking in earlier videos, then started pre-writing everything, now I'm back to adding notes as I go, which should help with speed. Thanks for commenting!

    Considering the fact that everything in our culture is just taught to us, it’s weird that we see other kind of behavior as something that is not normal aka there must be something wrong with that person if he is different.
    I would argue that most people have some form of mental illness because they have no touch in reality or nature.
