WHY THIS MATTERS IN BRIEF: As computing becomes ubiquitous, and embedded in the devices around us, we won't always want to talk out loud to use them, that's one of the many use cases for this technology.
MIT researchers have developed a new form of computer interface called AlterEgo that lets users silently converse with a computing devices and that can transcribe words that the user verbalises internally but doesn’t actually speak aloud.
The system consists of a wearable technology device and an associated computing system. Electrodes in the device pick up neuromuscular signals in the users jaw and face that are triggered by internal verbalisations, in other words in the same way you say words just “in your head,” but that are undetectable to the human eye. Those signals are then fed to a machine learning system that has been trained to correlate particular signals with particular words which then lets the user "silently" converse and interact with, for example, Google as the clip below shows.
The device also includes a pair of bone conduction headphones, like ones I've mentioned before that can even turn rings into phones, which transmit vibrations through the bones of the face to the inner ear. Because they don’t obstruct the ear canal, the headphones enable the system to convey information to the user without interrupting conversation or otherwise interfering with the user’s auditory experience.

For people noticing that he's hearing the answer aloud...that is how it works. The technology reads his brainwaves but it's not going to insert the answers into his brain. To put the thoughts into his head would break many codes of ethics.

When this has 0 input lag and can type words faster than a keyboard it will be revolutionary. Especially for keeping up with or integrating with AI, being able to think your response at the speed that your brain processes information. I would really just like a transcript of my inner monologue.

Was gonna say what this person above said, this device isn't giving him any information, like with that question he was asked about the population of a country, he used his mind to Google the answer, he would still have to remember that information, so while with this you could look up translations for different languages but you would still have to remember all those translations and know how to pronounce the words

@@significantlystrangeboi9929 the device is reading his mind, like when he's asked a question he thinks of the question in his mind and it prompts the device to search for the answer on some kind of search engine, and then gives him the answer in his mind. Trust me I don't fully understand the tech and it sounds very weird and creepy but this is the basics of it. What I said before might have been confusing but what I was trying to say like the device is not like uploading information to his brain, it's just telling him info that it searched and found on a search engine via his mind.

Friends - if they can be called such - they hid roofing felts in the house, they hung "something" somewhere, which then without color (like lenses for the eyes) sit on the eyes as well as the ears and larynx (or wherever else) - they make you such as CGI effects (as I found out - I'm sitting on the street drinking tea - I clearly hear the plane, but from where I see a small drone flying from and only it climbed to a certain level of the eye - it turns into a plane like flying through the sky) they have since realized that they are ( they- no no, we don’t glitch at you, but laugh ourselves) already fucked up, I’ll see something like a friend, then I’ll see a car (showed endlessly for a while) what I wanted to buy, but look in the mirror and THERE IS NOTHING THERE !!!! And the sound from the ears s ...... 6al .. then barks(I'm not afraid of dogs) then it chirps, then it turns on the song. And at night they literally lull them to sleep with this electronics and they ask you questions - then in the morning you go to CZcams and they are joking with me naked in the shower, when on a jerk - fuckers in general fetishists (in life, like puppies would crush - prove I can’t - suddenly they’re not - first you need to know what kind of GADGET it is ") I tried to record CZcams through the app and there another gives out a normal video, i.e. they impose somehowThose. they fit on your eye - they make a pixel out of it - the sound of the chip gets into your ears (x ... pull out-small) and then they joke - then they put it, they put it. ALREADY 4 MONTHS OF NO LIVING, no rest - even at night they show the heifers with a specialist (the computer of the krafik is visible) you approach them m.members add to them. In real life, they get shocked, then they grab one place and you don’t see themA couple of TIMES THEY CAUGHT LIKE A METAL SEMI-SILICON COLOR THE SIZE OF A MIMETER - SO HE JUMPS OUT AND FLYING AWAY. AND ANOTHER TIME - CLAMPED WITH FINGERS - SHOCKED FUCKED AND ALSO FUCKED PEOPLE PROMPT WHAT A GADGET CAN BE TO EITHER REMOVE OR TELL COPS TO KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR. I HOPE TO FIND A PAIR OF GADGET USERS WHO UNDERSTAND WHAT SHIT THIS IS
