    I applied this today on a white convertible mustang. I think I may have used more than needed as I had about half the can left after the 2nd coat. 50ml per coat. It was hard to see where it was going on white paint so I used a little more. I used my own applicator and used the included towel to wipe off. Wipe on wipe off. Easy application. Nice gloss. Paint felt slick on the 2nd coat.

      Brian, I know right, easy great gloss, and great protection. You and I have full size crew cab pick ups, I killed myself prepping and putting on 3 coats (what GTechniq calls for) of GTechniq CSL and EXOV4. Heck doing the roof alone, is like doing a whole Mini Copper. Don't forget 20" wheels, and all that glass. Next time I get get a truck or any vehicle (I love the results of Can Coat) I'm going Gyeon Can Coat, and given it's ease I would actually welcome applying it a couple of times a year, because I enjoy doing that kind of stuff.

      @@PanTheOrganizer It's difficult to pick one. I like em all. I really like them all. There's always something to learn. You keep repeating some stuff, mostly prepping a car, in each video which is super helpful. It's like a revision and I always pick up small details that I might have missed.
      It's the very very small things like how you hold your towel or how you flip it over etc that makes things easier. Or how much pressure to apply. I don't know why but it's gone in my head that the more pressure you apply, better the results. So I gas out pretty soon. Lol!
      Great content. You have to open your own academy. You'll be a great teacher.

I hope to see you incorporating it in more of your videos, I recently applied GTechniq CSL and EXOv4 to my full size crew cab pick up truck. I used to drive old beater cars (12-15 yo) so I didn’t care much for the paint jobs but I just bought a 4 year old black SUV and I want to keep her shiny and protected and I want to do it myself. My question is in regards to polishing too. I live in an appartement so no access to pressure washer but I’ll go to my local manual car wash to do all of this on a quiet day so that’ll solve that issue :) As for the polish though, is there a way to polish the car without buying a polisher and pads? I have a problem on my alloy wheels as there is a lot of Browning which doesn't come off
    I've got white stains which I think maybe from allowing the iron remover to dry on the wheels (this was before i started watching your videos)
    I used the P and S brake duster and the ironx remover but to no avail. My only option could be to take it to a car detailing specialist to see what they can do with the wheels
    Do you have any other products or tips you could give us
    1 - remove the brown staining as the wheels have a Matt black finish

      To answer your question, it really depends on multiple factors so it's not a simple answer. It depends on your experience level, how bad the paint is (does it need paint correction?) among other things. On average, a typical wash, chemical decon, clay, paint prep spray and applying the coating will take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. If you need machine polishing, add a few more hours to the mix. Again, it will vary for every different person.
      But applying the spray on its own only takes a few minutes, as it's a spray on, wipe off, bingo done.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 měsíci +1

      You don't reuse the towel in this case. Just like ceramic coatings in glass bottles, you throw the towels after use. CanCoat is not your regular ceramic spray. It's a very strong ceramic coating in spray form.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety

      It depends how long the coating has been applied. If it's getting close to the two years durability claim, then yes you have to restart all the steps: wash, decon, machine polishing, IPA, reapply two coats. If it has only been 6 months, you could perhaps just wash the car, iron remover, then IPA wipe with CarPro Eraser, then apply a topper like CarPro Gliss. Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on CZcams as we surpassed 985,000 subscribers and we have over 135 million views! I have been detailing for 27 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
      You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
      A new car is never new until it's properly detailed.
      - at the factory, the paint defects are often corrected quickly by rotary polishing which can leave marks and holograms, so polishing corrects those, before you lock that in long term with a ceramic coating for example.
      - vehicles are then transported by truck, train and boat so they are exposed to the elements, industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, etc
      - vehicles are often left at boat docks (when transported by boat) or in exterior parking lots for weeks or months, again being exposed to the elements
      - at the dealership, the vehicles are almost always poorly prepped using the same dirty water that was used for all the cars on a given day, and poor washing and drying methods leading to swirls and scratches
      - at the dealership, a layer of cheap wax or paint sealant is usually applied to attempt to make the paint glossy prior to delivery. It's crucial to remove any previous protection before you apply a ceramic coating, as coatings need to bond directly to a virgin clear coat.
      If you only plan on applying a regular carnauba wax or paint sealant though, you could decide to skip machine polishing, as those protectants can be applied over existing protection and it's not as crucial to prep the paint as well.
      I explain all of this in this popular video: czcams.com/video/QgoyrC-5CMc/video.html
      So you can better visualize the new car prep process, here are the steps I perform on a brand new car for my customers:

    Hello pan. Really enjoy your video. I do have a question. After doing a paint correction an getting car prep before put on gyeon ceramic liquid coating. When it comes time to do it again in 8 months or so. Does the same process have to be done all over again. Because if keep doing a paint correction over an over. You are taking layers of clear coat off correct. So what do I do. Thx an have a good day

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 3 lety +1

      You only do paint correction when your paint needs it, meaning if you see lots of swirls, scratches or oxidation. You want to preserve as much clear coat as possible. If you wash and dry your car with safe washing methods you shouldn’t need machine polishing. I polished my car only once since I bought it new over two years ago.
      So if your paint is in good condition 6 to 8 months later, you can simply wash, use an iron remover for decon, qui paint prep and then reapply a fresh coat of Can Coat.

    Excellent guide. However I want to ask. What are my options when I don't have a garage and polisher.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You can still do all of these steps outside, just make sure you never work in direct sunlight. Work in the shade, on a cool surface. And remember to spray the CanCoat in the folded towel (so it doesn't go all over the place with the wind). Also, the new version of CanCoat, called CanCoat EVO lasts twice as long, and is outdoor friendly for the application. Link in the video description.
      As far as polishing, if you don't have a polisher, just note that your paint won't be improved. Paint polishing is what removes defects like swirls and scratches and oxidation. It makes the paint look glossy (way more than any paint protection can) and gives clarity and depth to the finish.
      Also, polishing is what removes 100% of any old protection that might be on your paint, a crucial step before applying a ceramic based protection, as the protection needs to bond to a virgin clear coat. If you have a wax on the paint currently, the coating won't bond as well and won't last as long.

I recommend a full 24 hours if possible. And then, wait at least 7 days before you wash your car again. The coating continues curing during the first weeks. Ideally, I would say wait 2 weeks before you wash your car.

      Yes and no. As long as it’s not in a hugely dusty environment (like the desert lol) or on a windy day you’re fine. What is more important is to not work in direct sunlight and make sure it doesn’t rain for at least 24 hours after applying a ceramic coating.

    Hi Pan
    Amazing video . Could you please suggest? I applied CAN coat today , hope it lasts for 6-9 months. So after 6-9 months if I want to apply again , do I need to follow the same steps such as decontamination and paint prep which can last me for 6-9 months again ? Please answer
    Thanks

      Yes you would redo all the steps for maximum durability.
      The bare minimum though is to wash the car, use an iron remover, then when you are done rinsing and drying, use the Gyeon Prep to prep the surface, and apply a new fresh layer of CanCoat.

    after compound and polishing surface ,we got to use IPA .but when we use IPA solution does it also take off the compound and polish that cover fine scratches also?
    plz help make me understand this IPA Solution thing

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 3 lety +1

      True paint correction doesn’t need fillers. If you do it correctly, there should be no major swirls or scratches left. And yes an IPA wipe would remove those fillers.

    Hey Pan! Having watched this video and your CarPro Lite demo video as well, which would you recommend for a first time ceramic coater? And would you stick with the same brand for maintenance or is it okay to use CarPro with Gyeon or vice-versa? Thanks again!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 2 lety +1

      Hands down CanCoat. They released a new EVO version which should have almost double the durability. I speak about it in my video here: czcams.com/video/_aZui6CkwO8/video.html
      For maintenance, you are free to use products from any brand, as long as they are compatible with ceramic based protections. So yes you can use Gyeon Ceramic Detailer on a CarPro coating for example. Or CarPro Elixir (ceramic detailer) on a Gyeon coating.

      You can (and should) do chemical decon, but skip the clay step.

    Hi Pan one more question. What do you like better Cancoat or DuraSlic flow X? Thanks.

    • @PanTheOrganizer

      FlowX is slicker but CanCoat EVO will likely last longer in most conditions.

    Hello Pan..... What happens after 6 to 8 months? Must you prepare the surface again with a wash, Clay, Polish, IPA again? I just got my wife her dream car..... It's not brand new, but it is a 2018 and we are watching all of your videos to see whats best. This video is 5 months old. Is there anything you'd recommend now? Thank you Pan!

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 3 lety

      This is a great choice if you want an easy to apply coating. If you are willing to put more hours into it, have more detailing experience and a bigger budget, you could go for a full blown ceramic coating in a glass bottle like in my popular tutorial here: czcams.com/video/byKcYsEyWGk/video.html
      But if you want quick and easy application, Gyeon Can Coat is very good. And in 6 to 8 months, you would do a wash, use an iron remover, possibly clay if you feel there is contamination in the paint (gritty feeling surface) and then possibly polish (to remove swirls and scratches if those bother you) and reapply a fresh coat. It's that simple.

    Hi Pan, just given my new car, an ex-demonstrator a decon wash and as I had it in my garage I used Turtlewax hybrid ceramic polish as the paintwork only had some slight swirls. Polishing with the TW has certainly given it a great looking gloss, the colour is Desire metallic red by SEAT. Question, can I use Gyeon Cancoat on top?

    Hi Pan. I applied Cancoat a week ago and now I see I wasn’t careful enough in regards to overspray. It’s bad on the glass and a couple other areas. What do you recommend? Can I clay it?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 6 měsíci

      Claying won't remove that unfortunately. To remove durable coatings like that the only way, especially if it has already had days to cure, is machine polishing.
      As mentioned in the video and in Gyeon's own videos, it's important to be VERY careful to spray in a folded microfiber towel, AWAY from the vehicle. That avoids any overspray issues.

    Hi Pan, Great videos! Greatly appreciate the steps you walk us through to coat a car. Is Can Coat similar to Xpel Ceramic Boost? I have a brand new Lexus that had PPF installed on parts of it and the installer also applied Xpel Ceramic Boost over the entire car, PPF and paint. I was planning to apply Gtechniq CSL to the Paint and HALO to the PPF but now am not sure what the best process would be to remove the Xpel Ceramic Boost before applying Gtechniq. I have been told to use everything from a 70% IPA mixture, Xpel PPF Cleaner, CarPro Reset to polishing the entire car. If need be I could do a light polishing of the paint maybe using the Primer you used as well as PPF Renew to prep the PPF. Do you have any experience with Cermaic Boost and what would be your recommendations?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I don't have experience with XPEL Ceramic Boost, but from what I hear, it's nowhere near the durability or performance of Gyeon CanCoat EVO. XPEL Boost seems to be a light ceramic spray. CanCoat EVO is the highest performing spray coating out there. After that, the next step is a true coating in a glass bottle.
      CanCoat EVO is the new version of CanCoat, and has double the durability. So instead of 4-6 months like the original formula, the EVO version now boasts 10-12 months durability.
      But be careful with XPEL PPF, as I heard that if you use any other protection except from XPEL it might void your warranty. So check with your PPF installer first.
      Second, the only way to ensure 100% removal of any previous protection is by machine polishing.

      @@PanTheOrganizer Thank you for the prompt reply. I believe as well that I'm going to have to do a machine polishing just to be sure.

    Pan, is it ok to apply iron remover while the car is still wet after rinsing the wash or does it work better on a dry surface?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 3 lety

      I apply iron removers on wet surfaces to make the process more efficient (save time). You can do either wet or dry application.
