    Looks like Proline By The Fire really fired you up! Last year was my first year & my first event & everything about it was awesome. So a came back this year & was blown away again. The amount of custom rigs was like eye candy. The vendors were awesome. Shift RC had some absolutely beautiful servos & wheels I’ll definitely be getting some of there stuff. When you see all the vendor items in person it makes a big difference so much nice stuff. Rock Pirates both also was awesome. I spent all my time on the Rocks & had 4 Crawlers with me but my favorite was a custom build with Proline 66 Chevy cab & Rock Pirates bed & shock towers on a element Ecto chassis. Had it out today on some steep & off camber slick rock type terrain & it’s side hilling & ability to climb steep angles was impressive. I had magnets on the front as body mounts & after Proline realized they don’t cut it if you really like pushing your limits Crawling so I used the Rock Pirates body mounts on the front with body clips. Didn’t want to have holes in the hood the paint is nice but it’s much better now no more fiddling around with it. If anyone one into Crawling had one event to go to I’d definitely put it on the bucket list. Next year I’ll be camping there to get more time on the Rocks.

    I like the old betty body, I would prolly cut it up and wheel it hard also.
    Good to see ya finish it, now, put a body on that damn Sherpa and call it finished. I've got the Sherpa chassis on my garbage truck, with an old nissan body and mismatched axles on it. One of my fave trucks. I bought the chassis when you started yours. Thanks for the help having fun in the hobby. Between the vids and the products, you're da man.
    Be well. 🙂

    Hey JR, glad to see you’re getting back to your ‘normal’ self. If you would like some OG wheels and tyres in excellent condition for your betty… reach out… happy to do a trade 😉

    John, could you possible make a vid show us new guys how to "tune" a ESC? I've watched your vids on setting them up, but I haven't heard of tuning them before.

    I trimmed lugs on scx24 stock tires and tested it, it did make a difference. May I suggest a roll of Velcro tape for the battery problem, all my crawler batt. have Velcro on them yet only one crawler tray needed it

    Still have my Devolver outrunner which is running great. Noticed temperature vary greatly on that motor. What temp range is the norm for that motor? I recall that motor was described as running hotter than others. Thanks in advance 👍

    John o have been looking for B-17 body like that one for a while. Any chance you would sell one?

  • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108

    I was pretty happy with the whole Pro-Line event. I've gone to everyone, even before it was called "By The Fire".
    Again, it was awesome talking to you.
    Question please John.
    Ordered another 1400 Revolver but:
    Would I lose any noticeable torque going from an OG 1800kv Revolver to a 10-pole 2500kv 540 V3 Revolver?
    This is for King Midas 6x6.
    I want a little more tire speed without sacrificing torque or low start-up and want to stay on 3s. Did the 4s before everyone else but everything just works on 3s.

    • @HolmesHobbies
      @HolmesHobbies  Před rokem

      10 pole will sacrifice "some" torque, may not be noticeable tho

  • @tobydyes
    @tobydyes Před rokem +1

    Why don't you show us how you trim the tires

  • @tobydyes

    That body needs to go forward about a half inch

      The mounts are loose enough I can do that no problem and then just tighten the fronts where I want it

  • @jefflakso

    What body it that?

    • @jonlaird5082
      @jonlaird5082 Před rokem

      The body is called Betty. The body was made probably 12-15 years ago. It was on the ax10 scorpion chassis. It was the days when axial was it's own brand before horizon hobbies bought them out.

    be sure to check the recommendation page before body mounting. If you don't do whats recommended they will screw you out of your purchase. Sleazy company that doesn't stand by its product.
