You are not wrong. Led Zeppelin were very influenced by the blues. And they invented swag! Wonderful to see the younger generation discover my generation’s music.

Actually what had been called back then as Heavy Blues became Hard Rock. Hence the blues portion. But that shouldn't misguide anyone. They also incorporate modern rock aspect and became the epitomy of Hard Rock.

J W Robert Plant has been my first love since I was 14 and I’m in my 30’s now. Like you said, he checked off all the criteria for a frontman, looks and talent, but I also love the fact that he’s educated and well spoken. He’s the perfect man! 😍

KIller comment ! Led Zeppelin wrote the book on stage presence, putting their talent into a song and the dynamics of their music - if you listen to their live stuff, particularly their 1977 LA Forum live bootlegs - from June 21st thru June 27th -- the musical dynamics are insane - they can go from a whisper musically to rumbling the rafters of the building to no end ! When Giants Walked the Earth and Flew Around it !

Led Zeppelin ooze sexuality in rock music the band as a unit just worked. Individually they were so talented, but together they just move your soul. I don't think you notice, but if you get a chance to listen to the song through a surround sound or headphones. You will be able to hear the sounds panning out to one speaker to the next. Its is very cool. If get to watch a live performance that weird sound in the middle part of the song. Jimmy used a theremin it's that high pitch screech sound. I glad you are enjoying my favorite all time band.

Oh yes. Plant never lacked for female attention on the road. Ironically, he was one of the most famously married men in rock in the 70's. He was mad about his wife and kids, and had a really settled home life. But on the road things got nuts, and the groupie scene in that decade was legendary. And yeah, he was incredibly attractive (if you like blonds, or white guys, or big swaggering lions). 90% of it was him just deciding he knew what he wanted his image to be and going for it 120%. He was a god because that's the way he carried himself, and the music backed him up! :p~~~

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant go together like bread and butter. There were really any altercations between band members. Everything flowed into the music. Jimmy Page was the boss, as he called the shots mostly towards the music and producing of the albums. Page and Plant were a writing machine. Don’t even get me started on their live shows...

I discovered LZ and Weed at the same time. 1974 - 1976....I had this ( LZ2) on a Quadraphonic 8 Track tape. Speaker in all four corners. I would sit on the floor in the middle of the room listening to LZ2 for hours in complete Nirvana and astonished at the sound traveling all around the room. I also had Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon. and Deep Purple machine Head in Quad. I actually wore that tape player out listening to those three albums over and over...I also swear heard one of the Beatles say my name ( Bobby ) when listening to Sgt. Peppers once in this same manner ...totally freaked me out lol...And my neighborhood heroes Lynyrd Skynyrd were hitting it big about that time. What a great time to be teen and a great time for great music creation.

Another thing to note on this song was page's use of the theremin. you can hear it around the 4:00 minute mark on your review, it's responsible for that eerie kind of sound. you can see him playing it on a few of their vids where he's moving his hand up and down and side to side, it consists of two antennas that create a pitch depending on where your hands are at. here's general link

I've noticed many black folks Love Led Zeppelin, that might be because Zeppelin is a blues-based band, yes its rock music but it's blues rock and black folks are deeply rooted in the Blues. The singer Plant is a blues guy and used quite a few lyrics from some of his influences. That never bothered me but Zeppelin was sued over it quite a few times for not always giving lyric credit where it was due. But honestly it was mostly just on those first couple of albums. As Led Zeppelin albums progressed it became more and more original lyrics. All the music is original too. It's not like the guitarist Jimmy Page stole any riffs from anybody, it was all his. Same with John Bonham and John Paul Jones. I'm saying all this because many people are saying Led Zeppelin stole all their music and it's simply not true

This group set the bar extremely high for those that followed after them, they were all that today's music is not, for the most part. There are a rare few today that can even come close. Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa come to mind, Gov't Mule too off the top of my head. Both of which I highly recommend if you have not already. I get excited seeing someone of your generation getting excited about this music I grew up on and kinda took for granted. I have an SD card in my truck that holds 178 GB of music, most all is old classic rock, and that's less than half of what I have on my main music file on my PC. Love me some Rock 'n Roll! and a bit of country too. lol

Man, Jimmy Page is the reincarnation of Robert Johnson while Robert Plant has to be Bessie Smith, both of them back to take the blues to the next level..
