If you think Zeppelin is like other bands from their time you would be wrong. Zep embodies every band wanted to be and still striving for after them. They set the model of a great band, so influential no question. They had so much persona especially their live performance so woman wanted them and Men wanted to be them. You have to react to Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.

This band is the best of all time!
Queen even wanted to be like Led Zeppelin but they started out more rock and then Queen went on to do their own thing.
Both bands are great and such a tragedy that Led Zeppelin lost John Bonham in 1980 and Queen lost Freddie Mercury in 1991.

@@iREACTDiSSECT Also Loved..Cream, Hawk wind, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple., the Who and the Doors. Just to name some great bands. When I left college I worked in the laboratories of a large school. the teachers often held house parties where all this music would be played. Great memories of these times.

Welcome to the greatest and most successful rock band of all-time! Queen and AC/DC are great bands, undoubtedly, but they're not in the same league as Led Zeppelin. Zeppelin are THE rock gods! Every other rock band looks up to them. I'd place 3 bands in the premier rank, for talent, success, innovation and influence - The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin! Btw, Led Zeppelin, the singer Robert Plant in particular, were one of Freddie Mercury's and Queen's biggest influences. :)
Gotta love British rock. You could arguably make a strong case for the top 10 rock bands in music history ALL being British... The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Free, Deep Purple, Yes, Queen, Genesis, ELP, ELO, Black Sabbath, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, Rainbow, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers, The Police, Iron Maiden, Duran Duran, Oasis, Blur, Muse, Radiohead...The list just goes on and on... :)

@@iREACTDiSSECT Actually Rock is the Blues. The British bands were listening to and copying old American blues artists and putting their own spin on it. Zeppelin is the most famous group for borrowing from the blues..
Zeppelin were heavily influenced by the blues but they weren't just blues artists. They had many influences. English folk music was also a huge influence, as was jazz. Over time they drew influences from all over the World. Also most of Zeppelin's blues songs were original and even those they covered, or borrowed from, were very different from the originals and usually include whole sections that are completely new. This desperate obsession to straitjacket everthing into narrow genres is depressing. As are the constant attempts to label music as black music or white music. ALL music genres have an endless stream of influences. There are white and black artists but there's no such thing as white music and black music. There's just music. Let's not segregate music, like we used to segregate society. Rant over... :)
Btw, if you want to listen to one of their really bluesy songs, I highly recommend, 'Since I've Been Loving You' live from Madison Square Garden in 1973. It's an absolute masterclass. Link below. :)

I want your opinion because you've been listening to some music from the 70s. You have heard Queens version of Somebody to Love But Jefferson Airplane hot out the song Somebody to Love and it's absolutely wonderful. The female singer is totally awesome and one of the best rock singers in the early to mid 70s. This band was first Jefferson Airplane and then Jefferson Starship and then change their name to just Starship in the 1980s.
You've probably heard they're 1985 song "we built this city on rock and roll,". That is definitely worth listening to but I want to hear your take on they're song Somebody to Love even though it's nowhere near as good as Queen but a beautiful version with different lyrics

That sound was Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow.

Kashmir is probably my top favorite or one of my favorites from Led Zeppelin and even though I think the band is absolutely fantastic, in a live show I still give the first spot to Queen and second to Led Zeplin. Led Zeppelin did mostly rock and bluesy Jazz kind of stuff we're as Queen did a little bit of everything. Queen was rock with a little bit of jazz and those damn Harmonies!! Freddie Mercury can play multiple instruments and Robert Plant could not and I think so many people love Robert Plant because he was just a sex Idol of the time. The women just loved him and I was a kid so I didn't pay much attention except I love his curly long hair
