Kelsey was treated worse in the interrogation than some of the serial killers we've seen.
that's almost abuse what he's doing. useless guy
For real. I dont pity her for her disability, I am looking at her like any normal regular person. And that's what makes me feel bad for her. the detective was in the wrong here. Must have been a rookie
Some of his brain cells have escaped through his bald spot.
@@cdion78 That's why it's hard to imagine that he's a rookie. Hehe

Wild how one detective could handle a murderer going through a psychotic episode but the other one couldn't handle a deaf person using their hands
Guy is a d-bag trying to be something he obviously not

Seriously. Like wtf
@@tripleheadedmonkey6613 couldn't have said it better. I'm so pissed at how he mistreated her, and how he mistreated her disability. Definitely should NEVER lead an investigation, nor especially ever train a new detective 🤬🤬🤬
It shows you clearly she’s much better at her job than the male detective. She handled her end amazingly. He was so rude to Kelsey. I am proud she stuck up for herself when she said “ I don’t like you interrupting me.” She had a hard enough time with her hearing impairment when he was hounding her while being so rude..As far as Jeffery I think he should have been committed to a psychiatric hospital style mixed with a prison type environment so he was incarcerated but where they were equipped to handle his care. He clearly has many issues that need addressed.
Note to self: NEVER talk to a policeman. Immediately demand an attorney.
Correct. Everytime. No matter what.
@@mandisunshinezmost the time but thats not always true, Ive bullshitted my way out of felony charges twice, walked out of the interrogation room and slept in my own bed both times

Always. Even if you are 100% certain you are not guilty of any crime. Even if they try and trick you into talking by saying demanding an attorney first makes you appear more guilty. It doesn't. It's your right under the same laws they are trying to accuse you of breaking. Never talk until you have an attorney on your side present.
Telling a deaf person “I don’t need your hands”…what a piece!!! Hopefully this guy doesn’t have a job anymore!
Dude is a scumbag
From what I understand, he no longer works as a detective for this department. Can’t say for sure if he moved to another tho. Definitely agree he SHOULD NOT be a detective or in any profession where you need even the slightest bit of empathy
@@Pixanxious pretty standard for disgraced law enforcement to just move to the next county over and get rehired, so odds are that he's still doing the same old shit a few miles away. good to hear he doesn't work for this dept anymore though. what a turd.
They just moved him to another department you know how Law enforcement do business
I'm deaf and I dont wave my hands hysterically - it's insulting for you to assume we all do that. She is being emotionally dramatic - it has nothing to do with her being deaf.
Kelsey's detective should be fired. He was pissing me off too. He is HORRIBLE at his job. I can only imagine how many people were wrongly accused because of him. The police department should definitely look into it.
Yes.
The moment she asks to her mom "You're scared for me ?" after having been pushed to her limits by an incompetent "detective" was heartbreaking. I hope she's better now.
I AGREE 💯
It's all part of a game. He did it on purpose.
It's Roswell, GA. This is the same department that the "coin-flip" cops were fired out of. It's also the same department where a cop committed police-torture against a 13 year old suspected of driving a stolen golf cart. It's also the same department where a cop sat in his car behind local businesses and refused to respond to calls. In one case, a woman a block away was having a medical emergency, luckily a cop a couple miles away got there in time and saved her. This department is a hot mess, this video throws another log on that fire.
The good news, for anyone wondering, is that Andrew Kirk (the guy that interrogated Kelsey) no longer works as a detective. Looks like he left around 2022.
This makes me happy!!!
should've fired him but I'm glad he doesn't work in that profession anymore.
completely outrageous 😡
... Not soon enough ...
Most likely means he just went to a different department…people like this always just move w no repercussions
No one was wondering
The interrogation of Kelsey just shows how many innocent ppl are in prison now.
Not too many.
@@Tony-hn8qy even one or two is too many
I was thinking the same. I thought u had the right to withdraw consent
@@maracuyamal We saw what happened when one of the states decided to let *everyone* out because of one innocent person, it lead to an increase in crime and many of the people they let out were right back in prison, after having committed *new* crimes and thus causing harm to the public. Heck, we have a particular person that is innocent sitting in prison right now, who got shafted in trial after a Judge *refused* to let new evidence show that he was innocent, and a Jury that was stacked against him.
At the end of the day, no system is perfect; but that is not a reason to let the criminals out due to one innocent person (not saying you said that, but I have seen people say precisely that)
She wasn't innocent so to speak. Had she gotten her bf mental health help rather than trying to "help him" or rather keep him with her this never would have happened. Insecure girl had a huge part in what happened imo
If you are guilty you want an Attorney. If you are innocent then you DEFINITELY want an attorney. This case is a great example.

The detective continually condescending to the deaf girl and repeatedly calling her deceptive and disrespectful is the worst possible way to deal with a deaf person. The detective gets an "F."

I know when I’m super upset someone condescendingly tells me “calm down, I don’t need your hands, I don’t need all that,” I always instantly calm down and feel like sharing secrets with them.
Yeah true. And it's not at all frustrating or manipulative to threaten leaving the room with phantom evidence that incriminates you or a loved one. Police interrogators are just great people.

@@wavyremix Glad to see comments like this after the countless blowies everyone gives to detectives in these types of videos. We need detectives of course but it doesn't mean that this type of job isnt a magnet for self aggrandizing piece of shit people who get a thrill about being the one to needle people and watch them squrim happy to be the ones to ruin peoples lives. Funny how they get so mad when suspects lie when all they do is lie. My brother has schizophrenia he used to hear voices and see things ….I’d come home and he’d be in full blown arguments with no one, it was so scary, a few times I thought he had someone in the room with him but he didn’t. It took me three years to get mental health to take it seriously ..and he was medicated against his will. Three years it’s been since he’s been on his meds and he’s like a new man, he still has some moments of delusion but they don’t control his life anymore
It’s a really crappy and insidious disorder. From what I understand, it is partially caused in the center of the brain that syncs up what we hear and see (we technically see before we hear things) and ties it all together in memory so we know it’s a recalled event rather than a current event. Bad a guy, a few years ahead, diagnosed. Biggest teddy bear before but some real difficulties after.
my uncle had schizophrenia and then served in the vietnam war. after that he had totally lost it and on one instance aimed a shotgun at my father. today he is not doing amazing but definitely better than he was. he cant live by himself (i believe due to other mental/physical health complications) but his 6 surviving siblings meet up with him every weekend.
That police officer talking to the deaf girl is so disrespectful and should never interrogate anyone ever again. He needs to be retrained asap!!

Also unprofessional and bad investigating.
He was horrible 😮
And this is yet another example of why no one should ever speak to any law enforcement officer without a lawyer. Ever.
That cop was very rude to her. She’s a witness, not a suspect. He’s treating her like she’s done something wrong. She should have walked out.
That detective who said "i don't need your hands" needs sacking 🤬🤬🤬
I wouldn't go so far to say he needs to be fired. He's probably a very good officer, but clearly needs some additional training on interrogating techniques and communicating with impaired people.

i was in the mental hospital for depression once and roomed with a woman my age (mid 20’s) and it was very obvious she had trauma induced schizophrenia. she had a terrible home life that trapped her physically and mentally and was being chronically abused, she lived in the hospital practically. anyway, when jeffery was talking to himself in that manner of arguing and swapping moods, it reminded me a lot of her hallucinatory reactions. so personally, he doesn’t seem to me like he’s faking but i’m not a doctor. the whole case is sad in all ways.
i know, it's so hard to say. i feel bad for people like jeffrey, it makes me so upset. going through a terrible home life without any kind of help, no kind of positivity or sense of self left. it's not fair that people have to go through that and then "mess up" because that's all they know to do.
The cop who interrogated Kelsey is a perfect example of why you should never talk to law enforcement. You're guilty until proven innocent.
Exactly.
It's obvious he has very little patience or understanding. He is stressed and ready to go. He has underlying issues with anger and probably cannot stand his wife.. or life, for that matter.
He should be fired.
Agreed 💯💯
I don't know why you are posting this as some sort of grand revelation. No shit everyone is guilty until proven innocent, that is quite literally how detective work, well, works.
to be fair to the interogator, kelsey WAS hiding info! she was hiding the info of him being psycho, being off meds since a few weeks and that she had to grab a knife from him because she was afraid he would harm people and stuff like that, she was actively "helping" him to get off his meds and enabling him by not interfering when he was brandishing a knife, she just took the knife and did nothing to further stop him from attemting again..
I think she got off because of a plea deal where she had to testify or something, cause to me it feels like by enabling him, she is at least partly to blame
This interrogation should be shown to future detectives as a perfect example of what NOT to do in an interrogation
Exactly, I feel terrible for this young woman. And wth don't they teach about mental illness in highschool. Young people should understand they can not help a person who is this ill. And that when people go off medications they need to notify next of kin, especially if the ill person tends toward violence.
Absolutely right! How is that bald detective a detective??? He strikes me as one of those evil detectives that try to elicit false confessions.😢
Not only do I feel bad for her but it's also horrible for the investigation. She's a young girl who isn't mature enough to just say I told you the truth and I'm done repeating myself. Not only do you not have to voluntarily answer questions but you sure as hell don't have to submit to badgering.
Beyond pointlessly berating a decent young person he's also conducting a horrible interview. He got no useful information and anything she did say would be useless when a jury sees that interview. I sure as hell wouldn't find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I'd just see a scared kid trying her best in the face of a bully. This is also how decent people grow to hate police. That poor girl will struggle to trust authorities forever.
Edit: for clarity I have many cop friends I don't hate police. This kind of stuff hurts good police like the ones I know and their relationship with good citizens.
@@jeanbeans7926 Perhaps mental illness first should be addressed by the parents and not blamed on the high school.

I love how you've pointed out so many issues with the detective with Kelsey. I wonder if her palms up jester was because she was feeling unsure because she was being truthful and wasn't believed.
This is also seen as an entreaty to understanding, not uncertainty. Palms up and gesturing out is like I’m showing you my cards. And her looking at him to see if he believes her later is because he has said he didn’t believe her.

It they stopped blindly defending eachother they'd start earning back public support but i don't see that happening anytime.. Many of the fanatical "blue line" departments put the blue line on their cars..the cops tattoo it on themselves and without fail you'll find every cop in those precincts has an "US vs THEM" mindset with the general public.. Is no one else going to mention the video shows a Glock as an 'actual case photo' but Jeffrey's grandfather reported a Sig Sauer stolen? And claiming that "the description of that gun matched the one Jeffrey claimed to find" is ridiculous when he couldn't even clearly articulate whether it was a handgun or long gun, only that it was black.
Yeah, my guess is that they didn't actually have a photo and mistakenly left a placeholder in from before they found out. That, or they just lied about having the photo period and didn't realize the brands would be that different, which, for people who often treat cops like batmen, is real weird, given Glocks are super popular cop guns.

In his defense, Roswell had not had any reported violent crimes or murders since at least the year 2000. I’m not surprised the RPD wasn’t used to dealing with violent crimes. It was known as a very safe and wealthy area.
Not sure about this particular jurisdiction, but I’ve studied evidence law and this detective is making it really hard for the prosecution to use anything in this interview. A competent defence team could easily get this thrown out of evidence (especially when he tells her to act a certain way, or implying that she won’t get out of the situation unless she confesses). The legal test is generally: if the police obtain a confession that would not have been obtained without the threat or implied threat, then it is void in evidence. Even if she confessed right then and there, it couldn’t be used as evidence in court. *Not legal advice*, just my opinion.

I knew it was schizophrenia half way through his story. My neighbour had the same thing and at first we thought she was just a psychotic karen but she kept insisting someone was cutting her utilities (power and water), and then ended up targeting my family. She said my cat was shitting in her house (my cat is a 100% indoor cat in the first place and she had a dog...) and that us "kids" were cutting her plants and turning off her power. It escalated to the point she came to knock on our door with a hammer because we "kept harassing her" and "wouldn't leave her alone". We called the cops but they couldn't do anything about it. Her husband just pretended he didn't know anything and he basically came home every night locked the door and never spoke to any of us.
