Same here. Maybe not with the same frequency of the regular builds but something like once a month, a brief 10-15 minutes video of Q&A would be awesome
filthy weeb ....u r bad quality :P it's superb quality ....3d 8k with spatial audio ....and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4 with vrbox2 - super cheap Chinese goggles
yeah, no. what we see in these videos is little snippets out of hours or even days of work. if anyone remembers when Tony made Longclaw back when he was doing this show, he said it took about 18 hours just to get the damn billet to weld properly. could you sit and watch that?
u obviously don't have a decent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2 it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty cool
Just some idea... You make many animes and games weapons, how about an original art which also fully functional. Like knives, I love knives. Karambit is the best.
This was an awesome video, guys, and I'm very glad you gave me a starting point in learning how to blacksmith. I've wanted to do it for a long time and I didn't have a clue where to start, so this was awesome information about ABANA. Thanks :D
i'm 16 and i've made my first knife a few weeks ago, it came out surprisingly well, and most of the process of doing it was possible with your help and your videos, so thank you, Man At Arms!
Freaking amaizing upload :D 360 video and audio. Feels so much different from anything I've seen so far! :D Also, we're all expert knife forgers here, aren't we, my fellow Dovahkiins?
Dragonborn, dragonborn, by his honor is sworn to keep evil forever at bay And the fiercest foes rout when they hear triumphs shout ...And I forgot the last line... *fuck*
pumpuppthevolume Someone flagged your comment as spam and inappropriate for god knows what reason and I can't restore it so I'll post it for you. "I love spatial audio"
BljesakiOluja hmm I can see my comment in the thread .....maybe it was because I am addressing a lot of comments of people who don't know how to consume a video like this
Hey, I have really enjoyed your videos and watched all of the 100 twice or three times. Your clips are such a nice source of information and knowledge about blacksmithing and knifemaking. I´m a 16-year old hobby knifemaker from Germany and did get a lot of inspiration out of your videos. My latest project was a tanto forged out of a leafespring with copper tsuba and walnut/zebrawood handle. I´ve been inpired by the japanese builds like the Kill Bill Katana nd the Kuromukuro. I want to thank you! Keep it up! And please make Legolas` swords out of Lord of the Rings! :D Sry for my bad English
Henrik Mueller below mentions being inspired by your videos - I too have watched nearly the entire series and the level of craftsmanship that goes into these weapons is awesome. I'm signed up for a beginners' metalworking class here in my city now. The critical point for me is that these weapons - even the ridiculous, heaviest, craziest things that you've built - are working weapons. Keep it up! This show is AWEsome!
I've been wanting videos like this for ages! after watching dozens and dozens and dozens of videos of you guys making things, I think it is only normal for us to want to know a bit more about you guys, so I really hope there is more like this coming!
Wow! Thanks for doing the 360° video! I actually got a feel for how big the shop is. It's way smaller than I thought it was; there's a ton of equipment crammed into such a small space!
I would love to see them have a brother's battle where Matt and Kerry battle by making the dragonblade and Hanzo's bow. Not sure it would be all that fair, however, since the bow, at least to me, would be much more complicated.
so a katana with green paint? no pls. as much as the sword looks awesome they already made a crap ton of katana's. so over 75% of the vid would just be the same as the other katana's
all u need for video is .......descent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2 it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty cool
I really hope you guys keep this series going and this group. I grew fond of them especially Ilya. I love their effort in their work and the effort you guys do of editing and filming. I love you guys.
I've commented the same suggestion myself. I would like to see their interpretation based on the descriptions from the books. The cover art is nice but I haven's seen proper scimitars in Drizzt's hands for many years now. Since the swords weren't made as a matched set, they could break off in two teams and demonstrate two different techniques for making the weapons.
Exodus 2017 Doesn't matter which, I just want to see it happen, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Xianghua's Soulcalibur, mainly because it's the most detailed and elegant, plus, Siegfried's Soulcalibur is physically impossible.
Question: I'm pretty sure there's a reason why you guys don't work with materials like titanium, tungsten carbide, and other supermetals other than the cost. What is it?
Aurum x Argentum titanium, while being very tough, and light, is not very hard, so it doesn't really make a good edge. Tungsten carbide is not forgable, it just cracks and splinters
For starters they are very dense metals, and would be rough to work with. Second two of these metals, Tungsten and Carbide have melting temperature well above that of steel. It boils down to practicality.
As a long time fan of the show, I'd like to say thanks for making a video like this and hope you keep them coming. Its awesome to learn more about all you guys after watching so much of your work. Keep up all the great work. The show is awesome!
yeah i want to see that too, been asking about it, because it is a very complicated build...european swords, middle east sword, katana are all lame now using modern machines...keris however is not something must be made traditionally
I'm actually in the same boat as Matt. For the longest time in school I was taking Digital Art classes, but I've always gone back to Wood working/Metal working.
That might be relief to them, really. But also a headache at the same time, due to it being a Chokutō, not a Katana, meaning they have to keep it from curving in the quench. How they would do it, I sure as Hell don't know, but other than that, it's a simple, yet elegant piece, and I would Love to see it be made.
Pretty sure it doesn't curve in the quench if it's forged straight... otherwise you'd have that problem with any straight blade xD tbh it's a pretty boring build and they'd only do it if one of them was a huge naruto fan or they want something easier to do.
Lonely Musician Yeah, guess you're right. Maybe Orochimaru's version, instead, but from the anime instead of the Manga, since that's just another Katana. Not that it's a bad thing, just that it'd be more interesting, and closer to the original lore, being named after a sword that was (supposedly) from Ancient Japan.
Congrats the get a bunch of parts out of the plasma cutter and weld them together. And not only is it too heavy an poorly balanced to use if they did swing it hard it would *break* because its a welded cosplay not a forged weapon. Stop fanboying and start thinking. Boring video is boring and that's all you'd get.
Not really... the ammo is made of dust (yes a kind of magic substance) but the weapons themselves can be made it would just be extremely complicated and probably expensive.
u obviously don't have a decent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2 it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty sweet
This was great. I love the normal forging videos, but actually getting to know more about the shop and the guys working in it is awesome too. Keep up the good work!
LOVE IT!!! You all should have much more content like this and more projects outside of blades. I would find a series where you make all the basic tools for smithing awesome.
The Q&A was awesome, and I loved seeing the 360 interior view of the shop. However, at the same time, it's a bit distracting. Mind you, this can easily be rectified by watching the Q&A first, then rewatching the video to inspect the shop in 360 degrees. Still tho, this minor inconvenience aside, very interesting video. Looking forward to additional parts!
I always like to hear about others experiences and different techniques. The q and a was a cool change. I've only been forging for about a year and a half and I'm self taught so I don't have a lot of knowledge. A lot of my work is trial and error. But saying that there videos really help. Even the smallest of advice helps.
I watched this in anaglyph mode (since I have those glasses on my desk) and it was really neat to see you guys in the shop. Would be cool to see a 5 or 10 minute segment of you folks working the metal done that way.
There is a saying that is true. "A man who doesn't fear his weapon has no right to use it." I think the same goes with any tools that are used to make said weapon. My first knife turned out pretty well for the first knife that I have ever forged and I also put a hamon on the same knife. So I did pretty well for my first knife.
man it felt like i was in the shop with them i hope that they do more of this
+PALT Thanks! Stay tuned...
it's great with a decent phone and some cheep vr goggles
Same here. Maybe not with the same frequency of the regular builds but something like once a month, a brief 10-15 minutes video of Q&A would be awesome
hm yeah
Now I want to see a sword forged in 360°
Jelph Y no you don't, bad quality
you do. 8k
filthy weeb ....u r bad quality :P

Honestly a normal video would probably have been better
it's an experiment. Imo it's a pretty cool idea
always fun to use and see new tech
did you try turning the camera?
Would've been great if I had a VR headset. Was still ok.
u obviously don't have a decent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2
it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty cool
360 is cool but has terrible quality.
terrible quality, you can watch the video in 8k lul thats the highest quality you can get.
BatBoyShark Not if you watch in 4K
BatBoyShark it goes up to 4k in vr mode on my note 4
try watching it in anything under 1440 looks shit
watch in 4k or 8k looks fine
The thing that amaze me the most is the sound, 3D is amazing. Blacksmith is amazing, and now, Q&A in 3D, that's superb dude!
Thank you!
you think you can build the legendary Guan Yu's spear "Blue Dragon"
Just some idea... You make many animes and games weapons, how about an original art which also fully functional. Like knives, I love knives. Karambit is the best.
Dicko Finus Asmr!
Watching this at 144p is a treat for the eyes.
“It was crap, atrocious, I threw it away” that line just killed me right there 😂
Shout out to the random zombie head :D
Henri De Durfort "Train go boom...."
I put it on 4320s and i am getting 1 frame per second :D
Galax-Zee you should be happy i can only watch in 1080s
Chrome is taking a shit even on my gaming pc.
it's funny how it's smooth on my note 4 at 4k and in vr/360 mode
my internet can handle it but chrome cant :(
my internet can't handle it and I'm on so low quality I can barely see the 6 pixels that make up the video :D
This was an awesome video, guys, and I'm very glad you gave me a starting point in learning how to blacksmith. I've wanted to do it for a long time and I didn't have a clue where to start, so this was awesome information about ABANA. Thanks :D

+Henrik Mueller Thanks for being a fan! We are so happy to inspire people like you!
I think the scrap billet question was a genius idea. I would LOVE to see a scrap billet junk sword build in a future video! Love you guys!
Having a 3d surround in a corsair void is amazing , I can feel like I'm there.
This video is amazing , I love your show guys!
omg even the audio is 360!!
I haven't realised that I was waitnig for that Q&A for a long time :)
Not only was that amazing but the quality was also amazing. Keep up the good work. And Ilya's the best.

I had fun listening to the video even if it hurt my eyes to watch it. love watching your other videos though.
How were you watching it? It works best in the CZcams App with Google Cardboard.
i was watching the video from the laptop and it was a little blury but as i said before it was easier to just listened to what was being said.
yeah its super blurry
Rogue Girard
I was like man this camera angle sucks...oh wait!
+Jesse Hinman It was pretty cool, right?
what kind of camera you need to make 360 video?
I love behind the scenes videos from these guys! Definitely some of my favorite CZcamsrs.
I've been wanting videos like this for ages!
after watching dozens and dozens and dozens of videos of you guys making things, I think it is only normal for us to want to know a bit more about you guys, so I really hope there is more like this coming!
+ Nonya Bizz There is! Look out for another on 11/16!
AWE me I'll keep an eye out for it! Looking forward to getting to know the know people who came in. Send our regards to Sam!
No VR, had to spare my eyes from the pain, so i ended up just listening to the audio. MORE STUFF LIKE THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED
I had to as well
You can watch it with your smartphone works aswell
Do corvo's sword from dishonored!
Wow! Thanks for doing the 360° video! I actually got a feel for how big the shop is. It's way smaller than I thought it was; there's a ton of equipment crammed into such a small space!
This is pretty cool. I wasn't expecting a q and a from you guys. And the 360° was a nice twist.
The realistic functional builds are way better than the fantasy crap.
genji's sword from overwatch?
This :D
Vidgames16 would be pretty damn awesome to see how you guys would make the green come out
Vidgames16 Yes pls
I would love to see them have a brother's battle where Matt and Kerry battle by making the dragonblade and Hanzo's bow. Not sure it would be all that fair, however, since the bow, at least to me, would be much more complicated.
so a katana with green paint? no pls. as much as the sword looks awesome they already made a crap ton of katana's. so over 75% of the vid would just be the same as the other katana's
thanks so much for a great visit to your shop and answering questions!
Epic! I love this format of Q&A! So awesome!
I could have listen to them for hours talk about stuff
It's times like these i wish i had money for a VR head set :(
all u need for video is .......descent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2
it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty cool
That was awesome! Felt very much like a fireside chat kinda thing.
I really hope you guys keep this series going and this group. I grew fond of them especially Ilya. I love their effort in their work and the effort you guys do of editing and filming. I love you guys.
would love to see a forgoten realms build competition evan if its just Twinkle an Icing death scimitars.
Bret Lemieux Yes! I've commented this on multiple man at arms videos. I would love to see these guys make those scimitars.
I've commented the same suggestion myself. I would like to see their interpretation based on the descriptions from the books. The cover art is nice but I haven's seen proper scimitars in Drizzt's hands for many years now.

+VoidR
That is what I had said. Twinkle with an aluminum hilt, blue blade, an Icing death with a black blade an bronz hilt an pommle
+Mike Blodgett
Thank you Mike. would be amazing blades if these guys do it.
I just want to see Soulcalibur be forged
I baleve they already made that sword
Bret Lemieux
no they haven't
My apologys I had thought I saw a vid from them that said soul somthing
Which one?
Exodus 2017
Doesn't matter which, I just want to see it happen, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Xianghua's Soulcalibur, mainly because it's the most detailed and elegant, plus, Siegfried's Soulcalibur is physically impossible.
You guys are awesome, one of the best channels on youtube!
Never cared for the 360 videos but thank you for trying something new
Glamdring (Gandalfs sword) from Lord of the Rings! Pls!
Question: I'm pretty sure there's a reason why you guys don't work with materials like titanium, tungsten carbide, and other supermetals other than the cost. What is it?

Hope to see you guys make a keris
yeah i want to see that too, been asking about it, because it is a very complicated build...european swords, middle east sword, katana are all lame now using modern machines...keris however is not something must be made traditionally
Nizaris1 I hope then this will get many upvotes
I have a question...Where is Genji's dragon blade katana!?
A rich, deep question. I'm glad you asked as I would also love to know.
its a katana.... they already made a crap ton of those. even if it looks different the forging is the same. which is 75% of the video
It's about views though, if there's enough demand they'll make anything.
Pretty cool to watch in 360, your shop is awesome!
you guys are my favorite entertainment on any medium. your collective skill is amazing. hope you can keep growing and making vids
Will you ever try to construct a Runescape Godsword?
what ever happened to the original guy who forged weapons from AweMe?
I'm actually in the same boat as Matt. For the longest time in school I was taking Digital Art classes, but I've always gone back to Wood working/Metal working.
Kerrys hair is glorious!!
It has terrible quality unless you watch at 4k+ but it severely reduces the frame rate lol
not if you have a decent computer/internet.
Scarx2gt it's funny how the 4k is smooth on my note 4
Bogs Binny I've got pretty decent fibre internet, and have a 4 Ghz i7, 980 Ti and `16GB of RAM...lol so I don't know why the frames all choppy.
Scarx2gt drivers or browser ....or who knows
.....what phone do u have
must be something on youtubes side then
What happened to the old man at arms?
+Bastiaan Gernaey We have episodes every other Monday.
Bastiaan Gernaey yea what did happen
One of my favourite videos so far!!
It's amazing that you guys do this for us every week. Thank you :)
I wanna ask. Its been a while since I last saw sam in your videos. What happend to him?
+Azure-Novan Shineitai-Taicho He got a new job but we have taken on a few more blacksmiths to replace him!
aww that makes me sad he was amzing but i hope no one else leaves i love the original crew the most :D
plzz make the sasuke kusanagi sword from naruto
That might be relief to them, really. But also a headache at the same time, due to it being a Chokutō, not a Katana, meaning they have to keep it from curving in the quench. Make a sword in 360

Stay tuned!

I really love that they did this in vr, its awesome!
I hope you guys make the Crescent Rose from RWBY.
Brandon Meenan Isn't RWBY stuff Magitech... So, unless we have both Magic and some tech from 20 ~ 40 years from now it would be impossible...
Congrats the get a bunch of parts out of the plasma cutter and weld them together. And not only is it too heavy an poorly balanced to use if they did swing it hard it would *break* because its a welded cosplay not a forged weapon.

Good idea but this quality is ass sorry
u obviously don't have a decent phone and some cheep goggles like the vrbox2
it's 3d with spatial audio and it goes up to 4k in vr/360 mode on my note 4...it's pretty sweet
Oompa Loompa what? .....u don't need 8k monitor or a super gcard
Why would you watch it on a tiny little screen on a phone? Don't you have a computer?
crank it up to 4k or 8k (if you got the internet for 1080 it should be fine to do so on a youtube video)
The quality is fine lol. You just have a shit phone/computer and can't run it at high quality.
Thank you so much for answering my question. I look forward to all your builds and eagerly await a possible build with your scraps
This was great. I love the normal forging videos, but actually getting to know more about the shop and the guys working in it is awesome too. Keep up the good work!
This was very fun, nice to hear some personal stuff! keep at it!
Awesome! Thank you, guys!
This is great, thank you so much for all you guys do
This was very informative. I really enjoyed this and I can't wait to see more.
This is pretty dandy kinda neat and cool
OMG this has 360 directional audio as well! The voices move between your ears as you rotate the picture!
LOVE IT!!! You all should have much more content like this and more projects outside of blades. I would find a series where you make all the basic tools for smithing awesome.
Really cool. You should do those Q&As more often :)
God I love 360 degree interviews
This is so sweet thank you!
Such a nice picture unlike other 360 video good video😃
Loved the Q&A guys! Looking forward to the next one
I always like to hear about others experiences and different techniques. The q and a was a cool change. I've only been forging for about a year and a half and I'm self taught so I don't have a lot of knowledge. A lot of my work is trial and error. But saying that there videos really help. Dude I loved this video with 360
I love that you guys have one of the 360' cameras now. Great video!
Did anyone else notice the zombie/dead head mounted on the blue machine!!! I love these guys so much!!
please do more of these!!!
This is great. You guys inspired me to do basic smithing. :-D
awesome, it is great to hear about you guys as well as seeing what you can do
Man At Arms are the best...
Wow this is a cool video, very interactive and very impressive.
loved it thank you. I also liked the 360
this is such a sick video , i loved it!
This is how you correctly and creatively do 360!!!!!! Great job guys!!!! Can you guys do a forge like this??!!!
this 360 thing is awesome!
I watched this in anaglyph mode (since I have those glasses on my desk) and it was really neat to see you guys in the shop. Would be cool to see a 5 or 10 minute segment of you folks working the metal done that way.
Nice this is awsome!
Ah very cool! I would love to see more of these FAQ's. 360 or not!
The 360 is so cool.
There is a saying that is true. "A man who doesn't fear his weapon has no right to use it."
I think the same goes with any tools that are used to make said weapon.
My first knife turned out pretty well for the first knife that I have ever forged and I also put a hamon on the same knife. So I did pretty well for my first knife.
Please more of this, even if it's not 360°!
one of the coolest videos I've seen. love your work guys. i have learned a lot from you.
+Canadianpunk says Thank you!!
+AWE me if you can make super jenemba's sword from dragon ball z or a ebony sword from skyrim keep up the awsome work
