  • As John the Baptist languished in prison for his allegiance to the kingdom of God, the prophet’s confidence began to wane. In this sermon, R.C. Sproul continues his expositional series in the gospel of Luke by focusing on Jesus’ words of assurance for John-and for us.

"Message from John the Baptist (Luke 7:18-35)"
Hmmm kind Sir...I thought Jesus' message...was far greater than "John's message"...
And that takes me to a common thesis'; all over the world; that the writers of bible scriptures; are "deemed" more important; than Jesus' Gospel. Sad indeed. Even though Jesus made it clear; that He WAS the ONLY true God Almighty, there will ever be. And John was NOT God.
Also, the word "children". While Jesus did call out the little "children"; in most cases the word children; is talking bout His children, at "ANY Age". Be careful Brethren. For many Christians espouse that one "HAD to stay like a Child;" in order to be Saved. Oh yes, I have heard that said from Christians, for the last 90 yrs. But, that is NOT true. IE: "The thief on the cross"; that got Saved. And he was NOT an iota of a child! Etc!
Thus, I said the above to say this: After I came to this video and saw Luke 7:18-35; I read those verses; in 3 different bibles; with 3 different interpretations. "KJV 1611 AD, NIV 1972 AD and NKJV 1982 AD".
And my understanding got easier each time; from KJV to NKJV. But even there; I have some problems, "By trying to KNOW who in the pluperfect hallelujah; is John's disciples?". Who were they? I thought Jesus ONLY had "Disciples"; when it comes to His Gospel. And Jesus' name is not "John". Hmmm...
...In any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!
