Welcome back to another episode where man and machine attempt to do battle with Haulover Inlet!

Boston Whaler is Boston Whaler. Either their skippers are smarter, or the boats are just better. It's probably both.

Round 2 - Whaler's are dang good sea boats - back in 1989 we used a 22' outrage to pull two people off a 32' Morgan sloop that ran aground and ended up stuck in 6' surf about 50 yards off the end of Ocracoke Island. Boston Whaler even used our SAR case for an ad, until the Coast Guard made them stop because it wasn't that we picked the Whaler, like the ad said, we couldn't get our 44' MLB close enough without slamming the bottom between each wave!
I own a 1986 super sport. Whalers with the weird tri haul ride rough but in turn take rough conditions well

Like i said in an earlier comment, i am either getting too old(63) or I like my boat too much to even consider taking on Haulover or any inlet for that matter!!!😄😄
#2 Boston Whaler: agreed, those all seem to do well, even the smaller ones. Interesting.
#3 was tough. Rules are rules, I accept, but the water didn't make it *in* to the boat--it spilled over the short closed-bow section of the bow. And yes, the guy in the bow who tried standing had to sit down, but that wasn't a knock-down, that was kinda beating him into submission and so he voluntarily sat. I won't oppose the ruling, but do think it was a close call.
#5: Agreed, open bow hatch is a loss. One wave over the bow, which was possible, would mean serious flooding. Batten down the hatches, skippers!
"...we only have a few hard core rules here..." rule of the day: If a hatch pops open, Haulover gets the win because water will come into the open hatch. Even though no water came over the bow. Don't look now but there are more rules here than in Deuteronomy.

Why even bother to call these video boats vs haulover? 80% of the time haulover wins because of videos selected. New ideal why not do it live show a clock take what comes out in 15 minutes or an hour or whatever show the video of the first 5 and call them that way no more picking what videos are used
