  • The Adepta Sororitas Novitiates and Tau Pathfinders both head south after the collapse of the Sunken City. As paths cross, the Novitiates will not tolerate any Xenos threats to Osiris.

    To improve pathfinders winrate use:
    * Gun drone and 11 pathfinders
    * 2 rail guns against 7-8 wounds enemies
    * Use "bounded" statagem for rerolls every turn (instead of CP rerolls)
    * Infiltrate gun drone. Switch order to engage for scouting. Shoot twice because of drone controller ability
    * Use "mont'ka" to move / shoot / dash out of LOSS for your gunners
    * Use stratagem for "dash on map edges" for mobility
    * Do not forget about shal'ui ability about free mission action (for vantage)
    * Buy new dice
    PS: Rail gun with 2 rerolls (bounded + marker) has good chances to make 2 crits. This will kill every novitate unless she can roll 2 sixes with 2 dice. Even if gunner injured and hits on 5+.

    was really hoping for the tau to get their first victory in this one, it hurts to see them lose every time😂 great battle report regardless

      Yeah I think they just require more finesse than I’m capable of. It doesn’t help that we limit equipment to 5 points. More high intensity marker lights would help….a lot. But still, I think they were a fusion grenade away on board control.

    Good game, I could tell by the end of the first round that it was going to be an uphill battle for the Pathfinders as they weren't able to get any shots off on the Novitiates. Both sides were playing cagey but the Sisters could still make it work while the T'au were saddled not only with awful rolls, but unfortunate positioning keeping them from making good plays. With the benefit of hindsight I think flying the Recon Drone to the top of that crate could've saved him from the charge, which would have given him a chance next round for a shooting attack and an Analyze activation, but alas, this is the kind of thing I'd only think about after it was too late.

    Think there were too many pathfinders on engage first turn, if they'd have been concealed could've moved up and markerlighted without exposing themselves - especially the shas'ui. I believe that usually only the two weapon experts and maybe the grenadier if they've got a good throw or safe spot should be on engage - the marksman and blooded can fire while concealed.
    Also the shas'ui didn't need to be next to window to markerlight on first turn, put them at risk due to the engage order. Markerlight's only need to be able to see part of the model, not shoot them so ignores obscuring and cover+conceal, etc.
    Once a target is on four markerlights, you ignore obscuring terrain when shooting at them, so can stand back from those windows and not be hit by return fire.
    The recon drone can analyse targets to let someone else go after them before opponent gets a turn - they don't need to shoot the same operative so gets a lot of flexibility and can potentially knock out two threats before they can respond

    Awesome quality and commentary!
    I have a question about Novitiate movement - is there anything helping them move normally even when injured? Some of the moves of their injured models felt a lot more than 4" or 4+3" with Dash but maybe it's just perspective?

      Thanks for watching! Might be more perspective. We take the shorter move into account when injured. I try to remember to narrate it but often I do forget.

    I really like the way you mark your movement with the order tokens. Clean and effective. I'm relatively new to Kill Team, so that didn't even occur to me, but I think I may start doing that going forward.

      Thanks! Yeah it cuts time so you don't have to watch us measure, think about it, measure again and move. With all the activations added up it saves the viewer a substantial amount of watch time.

    Really enjoyed this. I am painting up a Pathfinder team and love Tau but they do seem to lose every battle report i see in Kill Team and 40K! Wish there was scope for stealth suits in the non-compendium team...

    I'm new and not sure how the Tau on 13:30 was able to shoot the concealed sister, who didn't have any markerlights on her?

      A cover line did not cross the terrain she was behind. He got to the side and could openly see her. I believe a cover line needs to cross terrain in order to use it.
