    good call to scale it back a bit while you learn a new game before diving in with campaign rules. Love the work you put into these!

      Thanks! Definitely felt more fluid with less to worry about. Going to bring the guardsman back and the ork kommandos with less special operatives to work on those rules too.

    Thanks for the video; take my upvotes! :)
    Just a note: you only get Cover if the place the Cover Lines pass through the terrain is within 1" of your model. So if you're next to the barrel, you get cover people shooting across the barrel. If there's just a barrel 3" or so down the trench between you and the guy shooting you, it does not give you Cover.

    Fun report! I’ve sampled a lot of batrep channels, and I really like that you call out mistakes, because I’m fairly new to Kill Team myself and need reminders too!

      Thanks! It’s a fun game but definitely requires you to forget 40k tendencies. I’m really enjoying it.

    Really love the format! I think they're may have been a few issues re: vantage points and how they negate cover, and the range of the necron double-barrel weapon (forgot the name), but these are just so enjoyable as a KT fan! So many do KT bat reps, but none like you guys!

    Another great bat rep! I've nearly finished with my ksons team but I've already planned out my next 2 teams, necrons and corsairs (when nachmund box is out). So I've been theory crafting an imortal+death mark team, basically using the immortals to slowly advance and hold the line while the death marks get into shooting positions and stay concealed turn 1. Making sure not to use imp march to save cp for reanimation and dimensional conceal. Then turn 2 onward, you have your immortals playing objectives and the death marks playing peak a boo. The concealment ploy(1cp) let's any death mark operatives swap its order for 1 ap, implacable march limits what actions you can take and negates the other ploy. Basically the way it would work in my head is you have your immortals activated first capturing objectives, shooting, busting heads, and (hopefully) getting any revived when necessary, meanwhile your death marks are waiting in conceal for the enemy to put the big guns on engage, then firing for 1ap then concealing for the 2nd ap. My thoughts being, since the death marks would be pretty high priority for the enemy, forcing them to either let the big guns be engaged by the immortals in and shoot back or leave them waiting for the dmarks possibly wasting 2 turns of plasma/heavy bolter fire in conceal so the immortals don't pick them apart. I have yet to test it but it sounds neat at least, not sure who was playing the necrons but it might be a little cheesy to use if you're playing necrons against your son. Props if you made it this far, sorry for the ramble. Again great bat rep, keep them coming hope you're enjoying kill team.

    • @XDfunnyguy
      @XDfunnyguy Před 2 lety

      Tldr: deathmarks (without implacable march) can swap to engage on activation, shoot (1st ap), then conceal (2nd ap) after you use the dimensional concealment ploy at the top of a turn. Do with that what you will

    • @MiniatureGameMontage
      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety

      I always read everything. 😀 I need some Deathmarks! Dimensional concealment looks really good. I’ve really been enjoying Kill Team. I don’t think it’s my sons favorite, however. Would be curious to see how your strategy plays out.

    • @XDfunnyguy

      @@MiniatureGameMontage if you get to test it before I do, id love to know the result. Perhaps your son would dig a very shooty team with big damage? The compendium chaos marines are very good and may be worth a look. Shoot twice + 1 free lethal 5+ is pretty nasty, not to mention everyone loves plasma. Or if he's not into bad guys then the grey knights are pretty neat too

    Your boards are so nice. It is a pleasure to follow games with such models on great boards :)
    Tactical priorities /"errors" always happens when you play new stuff. I'd tone down the background music a notch myslef.

    I find Kill Team lacks the same kind of impact as Necromunda, mostly because the amount of hitpoints models have and the amount of dice thrown for simple shooting. Oh and there's no Space Marines in 'munda. Still, an enjoyable watch as always!

      Thanks, Thing! It’s a bit much to keep track of in my opinion. I would say it’s something I dislike about the system. I was actually thinking about that earlier today, lol.

    Nicely done.
    I kept forgetting the AP removing a defence dice in the first 2 games too.
    Did you draw the objectives randomly, or pick and choose? I find some of them would really force you to play against your stregnths and force you into compromising. The few games I've played so far, we just picked our objectives from the deck.

    • @MiniatureGameMontage
      @MiniatureGameMontage  Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah I keep thinking of AP as -1 to saves. And I think gauss flayers in 40k are -1 AP so that’s always in my mind. We draw two and pick one three times out of a deck of 6. Thank you for watching! 😀
