  • I've spent three months with the Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 OLED and I must say, it is my favorite laptop of 2021 and heading into 2022. But I still have my reservations, so in this video, I'm gonna highlight 6 things to be aware of before you buy...
    💻 StudioBook 16 R9 + RTX 3070 ( geni.us/StudioBookR9-3070 - Commission Earned )
    💻 StudioBook 16 R9 + RTX 3060 ( geni.us/StudioBookR9-3060 - Commission Earned )
    💻 StudioBook 16 i7 + RTX 3060 ( geni.us/StudioBook-i7-3060 - Commission Earned )
    💻 StudioBook 16 Intel Xeon ( geni.us/tudioBookProXeon-A5000 - Commission Earned )
The performance, build quality, Asus Dial, and agreeable battery life make the Asus ProArt StudioBook Pro 16 OLED an on-the-go creator workflow masterpiece. My favorite aspect by far is the dial combined with an excellent performance from the Ryzen 9 5900HX. I wish they would have made a few adjustments to the software in order to help with battery life and cooler temperatures while working on this laptop. But overall I love it.

Hey Ben, first of all congrats for the great channel, one of my favourite reviewer because focused on creative work, with fair and well made reviews., love your content man!
I have a big question: am looking to upgrade from my Acer Conceptd3 Pro (which served me super well until now) because I need to start fiddling with Unreal Engine and 3D rendering. I've been shortlisting between the StudioBook Pro 16 and the new Zephyrus ROG G15, both with an nvidia 3070 and AMD CPU. I got the vibe that with one I'd get a much better screen , the useful dial and a solid workstation overall, whilst with the Zephyrus I'd get better portability (which is important but not main priority) and better battery life., trading for a lower end screen. Would you think these two machines, specc'd as I indicated would be comparable? Any insight that could help me choose? Thanks a lot man

      @BenGKaiser  Před 2 lety +3

I really appreciate your kind words and support for my channel.
Yeah, I think the two are comparable. Overall I would personally lean towards the StudioBook. Overall it has an edge on the G15 for the reasons you mentioned. However you’re right, with the 5900HS CPU over the 5900HX you will see slightly better battery life. Could be worth it, but that’s definitely gonna have to be a personal conviction on your part.
      Cheers, Ben

I recently faced a problem with my laptop as it was not turning on, so the service guy came checked and told me he had to change the motherboard, I was not worried since the laptop was under warranty. 2 days later the service guy mentioned that my motherboard approval has been rejected since they found moisture in the motherboard which was not caused by me, it is a natural process even the service guy mentioned. Fast forward to date the company has been offering me a 25% discount on part replacement which roughly comes to around 45,000/. So please keep in mind while buying Asus products that if a nature problem occurs they won't be responsible for the product. My product had only been 1 year 11 months. No doubt the performance of laptop is great but service is really bad.

Hi Ben, thanks a lot for review. Regarding the trackpad, do you mean that we can't use it by just touching the main area anywhere for click ? Like we have to clik the physical buttons all time ?! Oh I think I got it, I went on store to test some windows laptops to see other trackpads than macbooks. I guess you just can not "click" on the main surface of the trackpad, with a physcial feeling. Might not be such an issue, cause I don't use it so much on my macbook. @@niya5258 So I bought a proart Studiobook 16 a few weeks ago. Thanks to Ben G Kaiser for the previous advices ! I did not really get into serious job on it for now, but the overall build quality is nice and feel premium. Not so easy to find on windows machines. You have to get used to the keyboard for sure, but I think it is ok after a few days and no big issue. Having a numpad for me is very precious, and I feel the dial wheel might be usefull for video and design work to. I am waiting to have a few days off on my current projects to install all apps on it and try the laptop more in depth. But the first feeling is pretty ok. Take a look at the new asus machines that were annouces yesterday, if you don't need a physcial numpad they might fit your needs.

OLED burn in concerns are not a concern under normal use. If you're using it for content creation, gaming, web browsing burn in is non existaent. If you decide to setup this laptop to display static art or static menu 24/7, then you will have problems. People expressed similar concerns when LED technology was first introduced in displays

I mean, I had two Lenovo P2 get burn in on the lower android 7 action black bar. I understand tho, those black pixels were never in use, and the white ones were always in use.
But it concerns me nonetheless, the ícons and the task bar, the hours I spend on Lightroom, all of that could create burn in and it's a real fear spending that much money on a work machine to have the screen get burn in.

I'm looking at this in the 11th gen i7 with the rtx 3060. I've gotten mixed opinions on if I should just hold off and wait for a 12th gen, but the only thing I've found that looks more my style is the MSI Creator M16 (I've only seen reviews on the Z16, so I'm going in blind). I'm also looking at the MSI E16 Flip as well (because I also use OneNote). I make logos and stationary type products, and photo editing, with the Affinity program group. I'm currently using an 8th gen i5 Dell Latitude and it doesn't handle the programs well (gets hot, runs very slowly and sometimes shuts itself off).
Also, am I the only one who doesn't use a trackpad?!? Lol I have always hated trackpads, they just feel like I'm rubbing my finger on sand (weird pain issues I have). I'm an odd duck, I know lol.

Ok, from my experience, I owned 2 Asus rog stick and from a lot of review that I heard, the Asus colour is more to redish, even with the ProArt and over saturated. so its not really the perfect colour accuracy my one when I calibrate it it showes 110 Srgb and 99 Adobe but never ever get my photo print and the colour like what I see. and I really mean it. its drove me crazy... not to mentioned, for my 2 laptop that I calibrated I end up ruined the colour completely and I regret it. asus is not that calibration friendly. the sofeware for spyder and disply Cal always freez and every time I open my screen it turned to blueish then took several minutes to turn to the calibrated mode and sometime not. also after 2 years of moderate use surprisingly my trackpad peeled off. I wish I can show you a photo of my trackpad looks really funny. never ever ever ever seen a trackpad peeled liek this way, not even with my chap old acer or Lenovo or HP.
Now the ProArt in Australia is $9999 which mean $10K and this price is ridicules should by car. while the cheap model is not exist at all in all Australia (so weird) and I had to order it from China, which is no no. specially that I don't have any protection after payment. ohh and the issue with the OLED and the glossy screen make it even worse. I feel asus are more to gaming and not creating.
