    This exact card sold for $114,000 earlier this year. That's some major cash.

    That’s amazing that people even back in 1909 we’re chasing after lajoie, Wagner & plank..little did they know how valuable they would become..awesome story (or theory)

    Is that your card. Stunning wow. The first thing I noticed was the 350 subjects back, I never knew I figured they where 150. That is rarer than the Wagner if I recall correctly.

    • @username1396
      @username1396 Před 7 lety

      No the Wagner is more rare and expensive than Plank. There are only about 60 Wagner cards in existence.

  • @seancostello8472
    @seancostello8472 Před 4 lety +1

    My theory is that Wagner and Plank didn't give permission, so their cards were pulled from production. Maybe the Plank was included in the next printing in error. When the mistake was noticed the card was pulled a second time. There is no Wagner with a 350 Series back.

      But there is Planks with 350 backs

  • @VegasModel
    @VegasModel Před rokem

    When he signed one of those for a little boy he didn't like the thought of little boys buying cigarettes to get his card. And the printing plate but that was at a different factory then the card you have .

    That's a good theory about the scarcity. The question I have about it is that most of the T206 cards I've seen don't have numbers on the back. So how would the manufacturer of the card be able to induce a scarcity?

    • @seancostello8472
      @seancostello8472 Před 4 lety

      The printers replaced the Plank with a different player on the sheet for some reason.

  • @kurtjones7198
    @kurtjones7198 Před 5 lety +1

    I think the 150 and 350 subjects mean that there were 150 and 350 different players in the set. I could be wrong, but that's my idea.

    • @VegasModel
      @VegasModel Před rokem

      I called and spoke with someone at psa about the populous of 350 backs on a piedmont plank and he said there are in existence 350 piedmont backs on Plank cards. There's around 70 Plank cards known to exist from 1909
