The kiwi character can be summed up with this story during WW2.
British general to Bernard Freyberg, commander 2'nd NZ division:
_'Bernard I've been around your camp today & no-one saluted me'._
Freyburg: _'yes but if you wave, they'll wave back'._

I read a similar story somewhere - I can't remember which war it was or who the people involved were but it was along the lines of one British officer handing over command of a Kiwi unit to another Brit. The advice was that the NZers would do anything you asked them to do, and nothing you told them to do. I kinda like that.

Mike Bungay, who served in the British and NZ army, said the in the British army an order is a command that has to be obeyed instantly whereas in the NZ army an order is, at best, the starting point for a discussion.

During the period of lockdown in New Zealand a substantial quotation from a work on world economics written by Klaus Schwab was circulated as if to substantiate Jacinda Ardern's government decision-making on the pandemic and oppose its economic management in general. The only problem with the said quotation is that it was never written by Klaus Schwab and does not appear in any of his published works. Misinformation abounds. Unchecked, it is easily manipulated and further propagated for the unsuspecting to believe it.

I remember my family watching Benazir Bhutto back in Pakistan after her exile had ended, and it was like a tragic movie scene when she was martyred right there, in front of our eyes on the TV. My mother, sisters, and I - all of us cried.
Maybe at some point, Benazir may have inspired my mother, who was a teacher, to educate all 5 of her children - male and female - to the master's degree levels and beyond. A computer scientist, an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer, an aeronautical engineer, and a physicist.

What they mean is that they want the freedom to treat others any way they like but if you disagree with them then you are a "communist" and should shut up.
If EM does take over Twitter then he has the right to run it as he wants and let people use it the way HE sees fit, which is EXACTLY what the current owners are doing.
It is NOT a government entity and therefor is not covered by free speech laws, if you want to use a service you follow their rules. What you are saying is the owners of Twitter should have no rights as who can or cannot use THEIR service. Inspiring words of using experiences from the past and present and thinking about the future. Like most countries NZ has problems. It doesn’t look good to see her acting on the world stage like this when she’s so out of touch with her own countrymen, our living standards are down the gurgler, it sickens me to see the lack of government tolerance and respect for our Indian, Samoan, and other hard working folk in NZ I speak directly about the lack of any action to help the ram raids and thefts from their shops that they have had to endure for years now that has now become a widespread problem. The police are unable to handle it because the current laws limit their power. So many people rely on food banks, its very worrying to all New Zealanders and almost everyone I know helps out in some way with this, and so many other people have had to start up innovative to help the huge need be see with our own eyes, it’s just weird and crazy it’s not how we used to be.The gangs in certain parts of the country are out of control, shootings and murders, people are afraid of the push for electric cars when few can actually afford them, house prices are unaffordable and not enough of them the materials for them are in short supply. Many of our young people who came home during covid are now leaving in droves? While Covid affects all countries it’s obvious to all, our covid numbers are under way under reported.
The government who started out with good intentions are now asleep at the wheel, and it’s very wrong to see our Prime Minister talking things up to others when even the very basics of running her country have gone so wrong.

Aside from one of her mentors, Helen Clark, no other NZ politician has had as much international success as Jacinda has had. She's only one of 2 NZers to make Time's 'top 100 most influential people'.. But she's been on that list twice. Giving this speech here at Harvatd, and we can't forget - the photograph of her hugging a grieving Muslim woman in the days following the massacre that killed 50 people in our country - being displayed on the world's tallest building in Saudi Arabia.
