The kiwi character can be summed up with this story during WW2.
British general to Bernard Freyberg, commander 2'nd NZ division:
_'Bernard I've been around your camp today & no-one saluted me'._
Freyburg: _'yes but if you wave, they'll wave back'._
I read a similar story somewhere - I can't remember which war it was or who the people involved were but it was along the lines of one British officer handing over command of a Kiwi unit to another Brit. The advice was that the NZers would do anything you asked them to do, and nothing you told them to do. I kinda like that.
Mike Bungay, who served in the British and NZ army, said the in the British army an order is a command that has to be obeyed instantly whereas in the NZ army an order is, at best, the starting point for a discussion.
@@allanwilson8572 Knew Mike well. He was a policeman.

She workd for Klaus Schwab of the world economic forum
And? What do you seek to demonstrate by such a comment?
Dont think she did Evelyn. Her politics are pretty much the opposite of the WEF billionaires club. She has certainly presented there, but then its quite a widely based forum, Donald Trump and Vladimar Putin are also past presenters. She worked for Tony Blair think tank, never met the guy but has questioned him on the Iraq invasion.
Even if she had worked for the WEF doesnt mean jack shit. I have worked for some moronic CEO's, gotra earn a crust and dont have to share the CEO philosophies
During the period of lockdown in New Zealand a substantial quotation from a work on world economics written by Klaus Schwab was circulated as if to substantiate Jacinda Ardern's government decision-making on the pandemic and oppose its economic management in general. The only problem with the said quotation is that it was never written by Klaus Schwab and does not appear in any of his published works. Misinformation abounds. Unchecked, it is easily manipulated and further propagated for the unsuspecting to believe it.
@Yurt Dweller it seems to be a respected forum. Lots of politicians of all political shades have done so.
@Yurt Dweller Why is she speaking here? Is she being paid by Harvard for some wild plot? lol
I remember my family watching Benazir Bhutto back in Pakistan after her exile had ended, and it was like a tragic movie scene when she was martyred right there, in front of our eyes on the TV. My mother, sisters, and I - all of us cried.
Maybe at some point, Benazir may have inspired my mother, who was a teacher, to educate all 5 of her children - male and female - to the master's degree levels and beyond. A computer scientist, an electrical engineer, a mechanical engineer, an aeronautical engineer, and a physicist.
That's wonderful...cheers
Dear @Arsal I recall holding my breath as that brave and extraordinary woman went on to almost certain martyrdom.
Horrified but unable to take my eyes away
Bhutto was a crook - she is an inspiration to no-one other than thieves and terrorists.
Fantastic! You bring to mind an engineer friend who said that he was the black sheep of his family because everyone else in his family, his sister and his cousins - boys and girls were all doctors. Almost like it was shameful to be an engineer in a family full of doctors. 😜
Harvard fills the stable,....Mr Ed goes to college.
I love the fact that New Zealand laud and celebrate their indigenous population. Unlike USA who have committed mass Genocide of the native Indian, or Australia where they have destroyed the aborigines. Not to mention the illegal occupation, and Genocide of the Palestinians by Israel.
It's all lip sync, she is acting as if she hasn't sold out on her indigenous people, talk to the middle class n.z'ers and Maori it's all power play, role acting. Her actions speak louder than words
@@annrogers9716 Her actions have spoken loud. After the Christchurch massacre she didn't wait of the next one and the next one as they do in the United States. She led the push to rid New Zealand of the weapons of mass death that have taken so many lives in my country, the United States, the leader in the world when it comes to mass murders.
@@annrogers9716 I'm Maori, you could ask me. But unlike one commentator here, I'm not registered with my iwi, so take me at my word.
Actually that struck me as odd that someone would flex being registered with their iwi as evidence. Normally Maori would cite other things, but I've never seen or heard Maori flex being registered with their iwi. Oh well, first time for everything.
New Zealanders * laud and celebrate their indigenous population * - currently. Their past is as dark and ugly as any place which was part of the reign of white British colonialism - ie, much of the colonial world including Australia and my home land of Canada. Its residual effects continue even in the plight of Native Americans. But, at least, NZ is on the leading edge of the curve.

Take Australia for example. The conservative Morrison government tried to enact a "freedom of religion" act, it was anything but. The police are unable to handle it because the current laws limit their power. So many people rely on food banks, its very worrying to all New Zealanders and almost everyone I know helps out in some way with this, and so many other people have had to start up innovative to help the huge need be see with our own eyes, it’s just weird and crazy it’s not how we used to be.The gangs in certain parts of the country are out of control, shootings and murders, people are afraid of the push for electric cars when few can actually afford them, house prices are unaffordable and not enough of them the materials for them are in short supply. Many of our young people who came home during covid are now leaving in droves? While Covid affects all countries it’s obvious to all, our covid numbers are under way under reported.
The government who started out with good intentions are now asleep at the wheel, and it’s very wrong to see our Prime Minister talking things up to others when even the very basics of running her country have gone so wrong.
This is prime example of the internet / social media trolling she was speaking about
I wont go point to point where this loser has deliberately lied and made lies up about this Labour govt
This troll is a prime example of misinformation .
things are difficult in NZ and they are correct in their 1st sentence , after that its garden variety trolling
Pathetic to witness , its no way for a man or decent human to behave , cowardly and unstable but this is exactly what we're dealing with
Run for PM and fix your country, im sure you have all the answers, sound like it will be easy for you,
@@trex2579 No u.
BOOM! In a nutshell...amazing these commenters don't see the reality before their very eyes...cops should 'front-up' to the gangs like they did at the Parliament Freedom Village! BUT, hang -on, they only any good against peace-loving crowds! Just wait until the UN are knocking on your doors to see just how eloquent her speech wasn't! She will return after she's signed our SOVEREIGNTY over to the UN and WHO...then let's ALL BOWER TO THE EVIL BEFORE US! I'M READY FOR WAR! I WON'T BE CRYING IN MY WEETBIX CAUSE I'LL BE STIRRING THE CALDREN!
@@fionajoseph1131 and ill be right beside you if that happens, but i think your fight is with the wrong country china seem to be the ones wanting to take over the pacific far more relavant than the un in my opinion, but for people to shit on the PM for making nz sound great sounds more of a personal attack rather than patriotic attack
I think it is the will of the people who have the power, to make a better change for their country and future generations.
lol..lol.... enjoy your bowl of rice....
Right. So why is it getting worse?
God Forbid...
I love that Benazir and Jacinda met each other
I'm a NZer and very proud of our PM. Sadly, there's a small number of people, most of whom come from NZ, who sprw hatred and misogyny and vile against this woman... Because she's a woman. Aside from one of her mentors, Helen Clark, no other NZ politician has had as much international success as Jacinda has had. She's only one of 2 NZers to make Time's 'top 100 most influential people'.. But she's been on that list twice. Giving this speech here at Harvatd, and we can't forget - the photograph of her hugging a grieving Muslim woman in the days following the massacre that killed 50 people in our country - being displayed on the world's tallest building in Saudi Arabia.
She's a guy though.
Also, so many typos. Honey it's a Monday, hitting the wine at the start of the week is just depressing.
You spoke well Hon Jacinda regards from Samoa.
It's interesting that it's always the people making moves based on disinformation who can't stop labelling every less convenient fact as such.
It's also interesting that it is impossible to tell from what you just said, whether or not you are one of those.

Hey Jacinda,
Enough of the postering. How about you come home and sort out the crap we're in.
Is there only one person running NZ? Must be a small country.
You should be proud of Jacinda. Many countries around the world would give their eye teeth to have a leader like her.
sort your own crap out Patrick
@@helbenshcfam9064 You're dead right. Sensodyne or Ultra Brite may be the answer.
What about sorting out new Zealand, high prices, homelessness, gang shootings,

How has she learnt her speech so well!!!!!!! Id need cards haha
She is so well educated and eloquent. I saw Taylor Swift's speech at NYU recently out of curiosity. I was pleasantly surprised at how good her speech was. She was charming, eloquent, intelligent, and witty.
She has a teleprompter
