In this video we are doing a review of staying at Horseshoe Hotel and Casino at the center of the Las Vegas Strip. I stayed in the cheapest room available (Resort King) and was able to get upgraded to a higher floor with a better view without doing the $20 trick. I'll give you a walkthrough tour of the property, show you a lot of activities and new things to do since they changed their name from Bally's. We'll cover the hotel room, the WSOP poker room, how to find the uber and lyft pickup spot, the new arcade (former sportsbook), Twilight Zone by Monster Mini Golf, Bodies Exhibit, National Geographic Rarely Seen, Cabinet of Curiosities Bar and Speakeasy, gym/fitness center, food court, pool, monorail station, Bazaar Shops, steakhouse, restaurants, best photo spots and history (MGM fire). We'll wrap up the video with pros and cons, the resort fee, taxes, how good of a value the property is (cheap vs expensive), what type of traveler it is ideal for and a few employee shout outs!

Adult video poker in kids' arcade is Casino extension to lower level. Is "Bally's" foyer entrance sign heritage listed? Binion's Horseshoe back on Fremont forever the only Horseshoe.
Love how the daily resort fee is more than the actual room rate per night, essentially more than doubling the cost of the room.
Joe Biden is making a push to ban resort fees. Would be a welcome and wonderful change. Can't afford Vegas with these prices.

What's so bad about it is that it's just greed. You already pay big bucks to eat at the resort restaurants, plus possibly losing loads in the casino. Charge for parking...geez. Tipping staff....If they must charge resort fee they could cut it down to $10. Not the same amount of the room.
Biden said last year that eliminating resort fees was on his agenda. Unfortunately, I'm skeptical it will ever happen.
@Flint Ironstag They are still looking into it. Sorry, the federal government doesn't work as fast as you wish the federal government to work. They are also looking into all the excess charges airlines charge.

My husband and I just stayed there on the 13th for 3 nights. He had a business trip and I tagged along. We stayed in the jubilee tower( older one) and it was ok. The price was unbelievable for basically center strip, and the slots were good to us. 👍❤️

I'm so glad you mentioned the uber pickup. as someone who does Uber fulltime, lots of people will be at the main entrances of casinos and I have to tell them where to go. They sometimes think we just don't want to "go around the corner" to get them but they don't know we could get fined, also when it's super busy that little corner can turn into a 10-20 minute turn around if it's bumper to bumper
Yeah that’s true. A lot of tourists don’t realize every hotel in Las Vegas has a designated place for pick ups. They can get in a lot of trouble if they break the rules so be patient with your drivers and meet them where they tell you!
Thank you Jacob for this very interesting video. I think the most valuable comment ( apart from the hotel reviews) you made that I hope everyone take notice, is the acknowledgement of the painters and window cleaners that work outside the hotels...especially during summers if they do.

I'm staying here for the first time for the Super Bowl in a few weeks. Props to you for this video, you literally covered everything including the ride share pickup spot. I haven't seen anything about the mini golf spot anywhere else online.

Thank you for an excellent informative video ! I’ve always liked Bally’s and it was was interesting to now see what it looks like since becoming Horseshoe. The one negative has always been their lack of dining options but like you said there are so many options just outside the door. And also it’s attached to Paris and that walkway between casinos has a lot of good choices. Thanks again for sharing this update.

WOW. This is one of the best and most well planned out walk throughs I've ever seen. Managed to cover just about everything in good detail without rushing through it. Lots of good editing and camera work. The room review was refreshing to see someone on camera showing the features instead of someone just walking through the room with a camera in front of them. The brief still shots and moving video were placed in good spots. The graphics inserted like the Mirage video were good to. Just an awesome video.

Great update on the property. Bally’s has always been my go to spot in Vegas. It’s centrally located, parking is good, gaming is good. Caesars rewards takes care of you pretty much. Glad to see that they’re reviving the lower area/underground mall.. walking distance to a lot of good spots. The only thing Is why the pool is so far from the rooms? Other than that our go to spot!

I always love to watch your videos Jacob. I am someone who usually stays at Delano MGM Grand and Aria With my family for our stays. We love the 12 foot deep pool at the horseshoe and we think it is an under rated property! It is definitely one of our favorites

Glad you mentioned a little history and the famous fire of 1980. I read that some people in the casino didn't want to leave their slot machine even though the place was on fire---how dumb was that. Also, Vegas supposedly now has the toughest fire code in the country because of that fire.
I've heard stories of ghosts being seen there after the fire.
Happens all the time. Gambling is a strong addiction for a lot of people and they refuse to leave the machine even if their life is in danger. Kinda sad. PH had a flood a while back and there’s a video of a woman getting rained on at a slot and she just refused to change machines. Please when you come to our casinos we want you to have fun but if you can’t control the urge to play then seek help. We have resources for you and there’s no shame in it. I’ve done it myself.
What tower was it
Harrah's in Laughlin, NV once had a bomb threat and it took forever to clear the casino floor. I finished my work and wanted to go home, but I was stuck there too. At least I didn't have to leave a machine "that was about to hit", haha. I've heard of many stories of people soiling themselves because they didn't want someone taking "their" machine.
In a fire you could get burned twice, one could get burned on their body and when the casino shuts off the power before you casn out. Some people don't think ahead.

We stayed there a few days ago and I 100% agree with your assessment. Great price, great location, great room. We had a view of the Eiffel Tower and part of the fountains in our Jubilee Room. I also appreciate that it's not a giant property!

We stayed there for 3 nights a few weeks ago.. we were shocked how much we enjoyed it. Our view was of the stage door 😂 but it was entertaining 😂 easy access to everything. Love the size of the room too!! Would definitely recommend!

I stayed here in September, during the transition, I honestly loved our stay , the location is fantastic and rooms were spacious. We even got partial view of the fountains and Eiffel Tower view, so far my favorite :)
I am going to stay here next Vegas trip, thanks for doing this walkthrough. Blacklight mini golf.... HELL YEAH! And the curiosity bar! I love this hotel.

Ballys is one of my favorite hotels in las vegas. I stayed there twice. And at the Mediterranean spot i got the rice bowl which was super delicious.

Ballys..er..Horseshoe has been my go-to place in Vegas for years now. Always get decent rates, the slightly larger rooms are fine and the location is great. I do hate kiosk check-in however as I prefer to talk to a human as per room selection. Anyway nice video Jacob.

They have the friendless staff, 65 inch TVs, a long history, and are willing to upgrade me everytime. Also the room prices there seem to fluctuate more than most.
