Monaco: Phew, that was close, they almost got me.
BANNED lol 😂
To be honest, I hate Monaco.
Even on F1 games
Well Monaco is shit
They'll never leave Monaco. Half the rich guys that run F1 live there.
Breaking News: The F1 Monaco Grand Prix Has Banned For Life For Being Too Dangerous.
Italians: Pizza slice-shaped race track.
Italianism 100
*HELLO? CAN I GET A MONZA WITH CHEESE?*
I think It looksmore like a Gelato (ice cream) turned upside down
Mate you're right!!
I'm Italian but I didn't recognise that it was like a slice of pizza.
But a 25 km-long circuit is too long and too boring
Italia stereotype (false).
Why you think we do that and we want a cheese circuit.
My Grandfather attended the Berlin Grand Prix in 1954 aged 11 as it was just a few minutes from where he lived in Berlin. He saw Fangio in his Mercedes W190 triumph on German soil. He said that the racing was phenomenal, when the cars were on the 67 degree banking they would bump up and down and even fight for control. The race track itself was two seperate lanes of Autobahn linked by the banking called the (Nordkurve) and a sharp hairpin turn lined with straw bails called the (Südkurve). He remembers being very saddened by the destruction of the banking in the mid sixties and when the track closed all together in 1999.
Lucky 👏
Las Vegas “the most boring F1 track of all time”
Sochi and Abu Dhabi “ hold my beer!”
My non alcoholic beer
At least Las Vegas had that special scenery that the others lack nowadays...
Worst, not necessarily the most boring. The circuit layout combined with the heat made some drivers dizzy and Nelson Piquet vomited twice in the cockpit during one of the races there
Paul Ricard: Hold my baguette
Hold my vodka and rosewater
The Monza oval wasn't so weird. Oval is a common type of a race track. What was weird is that they combined the oval with the standard Monza track. One lap consisted of the standard track and the oval.
The oval is common, but it's the most boring kind of track.
Daytona says hi!
@@deflex3297 in my personal opinion, Daytona is boring 😬. A racetrack needs left and right turns, change in elevation and long, but not too long straights. COTA is a brilliant track tho
@@sluttyt90 Yeah, cota was so good, just look at last sunday at nascar...
Strange for Formula One.
F1 generally doesn't race on ovals.
Las Vegas: “I knew you’d be back.”
So Avus was nothing but F1 cars on Autobahn, huh
precisely
Prototype Autobahn.
But was worth it for the spectators overlooking kinda the whole track
"Las vegas is the most boring F1 track of all time"
Abu dhabi: Hold my oil
Sochi: Hold my vodka
Paul Ricard: Hold my baguette
hey las vegas is boring bc the layout it repetitive, the others are just...
Las Vegas: Hold my gun
Yes, Spain still being alive
@@f1videosforf1fans99 spain is only boring because the winter tests being held there and all the teams have their data already
Barcelona: Hold my paella
I want mahaveer to drive around the Nurburgring nordschliefe against Charles lecelerc..
Lord Mahaveer, where's your respect at?
Get Kuru to do it too
Wtf?....
That's random shit
The duel of the century
Las Vegas “the worst circuit F1 has ever been to”
Dallas, TX: Hold my beer
Lol Abu Dhabi Sochi
@@goodboy4129 Abu DHabi and Sochi at least have decent surface. Las Vegas had big holes on the track.
Dallas Grand Prix made actually Mansell Pass out becuase of the 40°C Heat.
A few cars managed to Finish the race
A race in Las Vegas? That sounds so weird and impossible
...
Damn Matty, I would have loved hearing you say Automobil-Verkehrs- und Übungsstraße. It’s such a beautiful example of the German language
JAWOL! xD
English people trying to speak our language is one of the funniest things for a German like myself!
He did pretty well on the Nordschleife pronounciation!
2:55 The Tricky Triangle be like:
Pocono: 😒
Pescara: 😆
I was today years old when I found out that British people call highways "carriageways"
Damn i hadn't noticed it until i read your comment lol
@@enzogravio5412 glad to be of service boyo
Nah it’s motorways
@@ConfusedOxygen same thing man idk
The highway is just any public road.
Carriageway is the part of the road that carries traffic, as opposed to the pavement, hard shoulder or central reservation. A DUAL carriageway is a type of road though, ie one where the two directions of traffic are split by said central reservation.
I mean, you could technically say Vietnam (in the F1 2020 game)
I hate Vietnam, the circuit is rubbish in my opinion
I call it the "Front Wing Demolition Track" (especially sector 3)
True 😂
@@AgentEmerald0028 I can agree it is horrible, I feel like the virtual audience in the game is waiting for me to crash there every time.
WELL THAT THUMBNAIL HAS AGED
"AVUS looked more like a dual carriageway that racetrack"
Well... Because it is :D
That thumbnail ages well
ironic isnt it

Zandvoort: I’m gonna pretend I didn’t hear that
Indianapolis moment
Imagine, seeing a car every 9 minutes... Good reminder to book tickets for this year's 24H at the Nürburgring.. Thanks ;)
“Returned to Imola and Istanbul” where is Nurburgring?
Last nurburgring race was 2013 I think that's why I think
@@louisduong2090 No, it was 2011
@@louisduong2090 yeah it was 2011 . Also nurburgring was there was a very long , but not Istanbul and imola was a long time ago and only 1 driver drove there in f1 before
@@stake-harley it was 2013, the first home gp win for Vettel
@@lulu-pt3st You seem to have taken my reply out of context, I meant 2011 for Istanbul.
Can't wait for the hot wheels track.
the las vegas one aged well didnt it
Before I watched this I was thinking about all the weird America gp tracks in the 70s and 80s
Fun fact F1 did race at the Le Mans in 1967.
At Las Vegas, in that car park, was hosted Wrestlemania 9 which is the biggest event in wrestling.
Anderstorp was a bit odd, as part of it was a runway used for light aircraft, and the rest was very tight. It also had banked turns and you needed a lot of downforce. It was also a race won by two of the weirdest cars in F1 the Brabham Fan Car and the Tyrell six wheeler.
I think a Las Vegas GP at night could be pretty sick. It would take a lot of organisation and permissions, as for any street race, but a street race around the Vegas landmarks at night would be awesome, at least visually.
Hah boy do I have news for you…
@@checo8312 Indeed. But what would be a net negative is if Las Vegas is gained but Spa is lost in the next few years. Paul Ricard will probably go first, which I'm fairly apathetic about, but Spa cannot be allowed to go as well.
Pescara circuit: *appears in this video
Me, an aBBruzzese: *screeches in rrushtelle*
tanto verremo ricordati solo per gl'arrusticin'
One of my favourite "weirdest" circuits would be the old Spa circuit, where they left the race course and drover through the town before rejoining the course.
I literally read this article on your website yesterday!
Josh revell: Moves
WTF1: I can milk you
wasn't that a video from the race?
@@TheLedan yes
I’m surprised Zeltweg and Dallas, they both fell apart during their races
The Monza combined track 1955-1956 and 1960-1961 was insane.
Will matt ever end a video without sharing "WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT"
My friend and I like to race Nascars around the 1959 Avus. Crazy races!
Ovals and road courses always were part of motorsport, but racing the fastest cars in the world on parking in front of hotel is pure madness. Of course, if it is not another Red Bull promo xD
Indy is possibly a shout - iconic Brickyard banked corner for 1 turn and fiddly in-field micky-mouse section for the rest! Certainly produced one of the strangest races in F1 history anyway...
F1 in Vegas? No way! Oh wait..
BRING BACK THE TURKISH GP
İt's not looking possible if pandemic ends.
they did
@@rowen42069 ???
All we know is that Turkey will not return to 2021 calendar as the TBC slot because of Ramadan, but track managers want to return it to the calendar
@@lukkas3611
really?
is racing something that is forbidden in that time?
I thought only eating and drinking?
Monaco is also a strange circuit given it's like taking a trip round a tourist area.
Not really. Most street circuits are like that.
Pescara is the longest circuit that F1 has ever used. It is also somehow only the third-longest circuit in Italy that the World Sportscar Championship used, behind the 72km Targa Florio and the 992 mile Mille Miglia.
he actualy predicted another las vegas race
Avus was basically a nascar track on steroids.
Indeed
Except that it had a right turn
The funny part is, the two straights are now being used as the Autobahn connecting Berlin and Potsdam
More like Martinsville on steroids
the one good thing about the f1 off season is the extra wtf1 uploads
4:40 Formula E: "Hold my Berlin"
That Vegas track looks like a track nobody would have fun on
Wait so bankings are banned in f1 but we have the Dutch Grand Prix that has bigger banking than Daytona super speedway wow
No, I think Zandvoort has 18° banking at the final turn (I don't know the banking at turn 3) whereas Daytona has 31° banking at the corners.
Well it’s actually only 23 at Daytona and 31 at talladega if My American mind would think
@@fred48gaming62 Talladega has 33° banking I think.
Daytona also has a 18° banking at the tri-oval.
Look it up in the internet and you'll see.
@@fred48gaming62 it’s not you are wrong
I’m still waiting for a road course in Chicago at some point in my life
Anyone here after the Vegas grand Prix was built?
the concept of a race in las vegas isn't a bad idea tho
like he said, it is always being discussed, they showed a bridge for that last pic of Vegas and I was starting to wonder if they could use a stretch of highway, have it loop around the exits for that elevation change and some curvy parts
@@mawile3037 you don't wanna be yeeting f1 cars off a bridge
@@mawile3037 nonono. That would cause MAJOR highway disruptions. I-15 is probably like the main thoroughfare in and out of California.
I feel like I just watched this on The Race this morning...
Avus seems nice, lets race there
Great video made again
No way, i have droven past that motel at the first clip that's genuinely crazy tbh
Wheyyyyyy I love u guy not ever a boring vid keep it up
I’m surprised that you didn’t mention that the drivers were involved in the Indianapolis 500 for the first few years of formula 1’s history.
You forgot the Brickyard! The Indy 500 was part of the championship in the 50s.
AVUS can still be raced today, in Mario Kart as Luigi Circuit.
Alright. I don't even watch F1, but goddamn are your videos interesting. I'm subbing. Ya got me. I might actually have to check out some races this season.
Start by watching drive to survive on netflix! Trust me
I wish some racing series would use the Monza banking again
It's funny you say that AVUS looked like a dual carriageway, because it literally was. It was just a closed-off stretch of autobahn, and the cars would drive down one side, round the banked curve, and down the other side. That section of autobahn still exists today, as does the round control tower you can see at 0:45.
We need a track with 2 straights and 2 hairpins with no banking.
Mercedes masterplan
@@piotrgancewski6736 Mercedes is better on tracks with more corners since they have the best chassis, suspension, and aero on the grid. And until this past season Ferrari had a better engine meaning they would be faster on such a circuit
@@evann5451 I think Red Bull have the best aero and chassis (only for Max tho)
Ngl if you think about it zandvoort is like a little old Monza at the little banking
on the las Vegas oval will be nuts
Honestly my 2 favorite things were in this video
F1
And the Beatles in a photo of Las Vegas
I think a night race in Vegas using the famous strip would we amazing. Or even coming back to Indianapolis
You erre right about Las vegas
this aged well...
tbh nordchleiffe is one of my fave tracks to drive in sim but i can imagine it’s a pretty weird circuit irl
If they were going to do Las Vegas, they should have done part of the strip.
Phoenix - ooh, let's design an F1 track on an Etch-A-Sketch, that'll be great!
Having a street circuit in a city based on a grid system... I mean, really. You may as well have had it in Milton Keynes.
imagine if avus was a track today xD
Avus is a cool name
Imagining right now... Mercedes 1-2, even with Bottas spinning twice, Vettel spinning at every hairpin, Ferrari powered cars 15-20, all others finishing where they started... Mmmm, wouldn't that be a sight to behold...
Imagine the NASCAR Euro Series going there. That would be sick.
It’s so ironic that Las Vegas circuit looks like mission winnow’s logo
Reminds me of Vancouver Molson Indy, suit dummies in the skyscrapers shut it down, “too noisy”. Pffffttttt.
#1: parking lot
Every year a video like this have Nurburgring, Pescara, Las Vegas.. put another tracks on list like
Monaco
Seoul
India
Pacific (Okayama circuit)
Ayyy. My home is in the thumbnail...
I think Montjuic circuit was quite strange too
So what exactly are the regulations on bankings? They say they were banned in 1961, yet since then we’ve Indianapolis, Hockenheim and Shanghai with bankings. And Zandvoort has a new banking ready for the Dutch GP
I always thought that Nurburgring looks like something that is not from this world, the giantic size of the track and it's design feels like something that came from a dream or maybe something made by an IA that it's learning to recreate scenarios from our world... It's surreal
Hey matt, which new tracks would you put in place of Abu Dhabi and Sochi?
i can´t imagine racing in las vegas in modern f1 cars
It would be cool but i dont think it will ever happen lol
xD
4:53
Sochi:Allow me to introduce myself
From pescara:I really appreciated your talking about pescara circuit, I live in thee, and I feel a bit like to live in the withe house at the star of the "ou Rouge", but at the same time is like as if the withe hause was placed along the nortshlife... I really awsome, like the street whe have there, I will send you a video with a short part of the circuit. Try to search "coppa cerbo Pescara" too. Try to understand my "English" pls hahaha
Zandvoort, old Mexico City layout and Indianapolis all have banking
Wow unbelievable
Europe: Were the home to racing or something
USA: Our parking lots are so big you can race in them
2:55 wooohooo that's my city lol
Has FIA recently lifted the ban on banked tracks? If not, how did they actually allow Zandvoort in the 2020 original calendar as well as 2021? Or is there something about that banked section that made it acceptable?
(Tbh, I wouldn't mind seeing Dutch GP, just asking some serious questions, not questioning its right to return after its 35-year long absence)
Plus Indianapolis for 7 years. The F1 course used one of the oval's turns which was banked.
I live about 3 hours from that Las Vegas track aka Caesars Palace GP
Valencia and Sochi. They're technically street circuits, but not really. (Yes, I'm taking that from SouthPawRacer's video on the topic.)
04:50, that layout is so familiar, mmmm Qatar GP i'd watch out if i were you...
I can see a return to Las Vegas but don't schedule it during the summer. I've been their in early August and the heat is brutal. The drivers and the pavement would not hold up. 100!+ Fahrenheit is common. A night street course race with the Vegas lights going would be cool.
I feel offended, CZcams. Why was this not on my Subscription box even though I'm subscribed?!
However, Volfang Von Trips did not die on the Monza oval but at the Parabolica, like Jochen Rindt...
Would maybe also include the Dallas Grand Prix in 1984 here since it was a complete disaster
Matt, plz make f1 2020 game videos.. it will be wonderful
Avus was obviously Luigi Circuit.
2:58 Pescara circuit like a pokemon
