I underestimated this video, when I was preparing to make it, I had spent the previous day doing other things, so I thought it would be finished quick. Turns out, the video was like the title reign, it was the video of terror. I liked Brock's 2017, he had alot of great matches and seemed fresh again because his 2016 was lacking a bit. 2018 was eh, the Roman feud was repetitive and it didn't have the grand ending everyone thought it would have. What did you think of Brock's title reign?
W man
I thought it was Decent
First off, I’d have Brock face Goldberg without the title, then Brock would beat owens or Jericho. After that Brock should face Roman one on one at summer slam, let have a summer slam main event, Brock wins busting up Roman (like at WM 34)
After that maybe that’s when Braun beats him🤷♂️ or Brock gets injured either way, if he can’t be on TV every week don’t have him old for a stupid heel story of him not caring.
Brock wins the title back at the rumble in the triple threat, Joe wins the rumble, Braun wins the elimination chamber #1 contenders match, and Roman somehow gets in the match (idk how you’d go about that tbh) either way have that fatal 4 way main event WM 34 and boom one of the best main events in WM history probably. Having Joe win it there too.
It was alright but i cant wait to say your take on romans reign of terror eventually!
Brock was running around with the golden shovel in 2019
“Lesnar was a fighting champion so you know he went away for a while”😂😂😂😂😂
While i agree, Brock didn't defend the title that much, He still had that star power. Everytime he step into the ring it feels like it is actually a big match.
That star element is rare in wrestling
He didn’t need the title and did nothing to add value to it most of the matches were mid
@@pleaseshutup7053 no they weren’t lol
@@theitfactorjameswheezer2852 only the Joe matches were good. The styles match wasn’t for a title and the Roman matches were the definition of mid. The worst wrestlemania triology reigns vs lesnar don’t even know what their rivalry about. Just the 2 Vince favorites fighting
@@pleaseshutup7053 and Seth Rollins match
Mannn it’s crazy cause living through this it was bad but getting it explained in a video format shows just how terrible it was literally 50 percent of it was to get Roman over 😂😂😂
True. The built up the F5 so Roman could kick out of it at WM lol
*75℅
and it still didnt work out lol
@@mrglass4646 Let's hope Roman doesn't see this....
While the run caused such a drought, that Summerslam 4-Way was one of the biggest slobber knockers in wrestling history. Just 4 of the biggest powerhouses in the roster in 4 different sizes causing pure destruction, and Brock being a rare sight those days gave that event the hype it needed when everyone could've had an equal chance of winning. It's what a main event on a big show should be.
And bro I was literally thinking about that match earlier today!
The irony of Roman claiming a belt is held hostage is so fucking funny
Same with cena saying rock goes to hollywood and never return till 2011 but he is doing the same lol its a a cycle like thing
@@TribalChief9000tbf Cena didn't really know what he was talking about. He's even said he didn't know what he was talking about
During this reign the Universal championship felt less important due to the fact that Brock lesnar was a part timer and the Main eventers on Raw had no top championship to compete for.
Agreed
Samoa Joe looked like an absolute beast when he faced Lesnar 🔥🔥🔥
Perfect timing for this video! Brock Lesnar hardly showing up negatively affected Raw as the show lacked his presence and left the other talents vying for the midcard title (the IC title). Also, it's pretty ironic in hindsight that Roman Reigns ended the title run, because now he's holding both world titles, and appears more on SmackDown than Raw. Granted, he's a SmackDown superstar but once again, Raw is plagued with the absence of a world champion on the show.
But unlike then Triple H actually gives a crap about his other titles and has decent to great stories, feuds, and matches tied to them all
He’s made people actually CARE about the US and IC titles as well as the Women’s titles (both singles and tag)
The only one he’s had zero care for was the 24/7 and that’s because he’s little to no plans for that terrible looking joke title nor wasting time on something when he has more “legit” titles with history and prestige to make FEEL as such again
Unlike Vince who could care less for them which frustrated so many fans and wrestlers alike
Crazy that Roman became everything he criticized Brock(in kayfab) for in 2018 now he's barely competing on a weekly basis.
@@Trejohnsmith to play Devil’s Advocate here
While I’m not saying a don’t think his lack of title defenses is a good thing, he should have at LEAST one a month
He does feature on a decent enough basis whether via promo appearances or in other matches such as the most recent Wargames
It says s lot that it wasn’t till his kinda face run leading to his last match with Roman that Brock showed up semi-regularly
And the only time he had a match on either RAW or Smackdown that anyone can recall was when he COMPLETELY squashed Kofi for the title in seconds
Roman at least has actual MATCHES
@@arashitendou5941 true but the days of John Cena holding the top title 380 days and being there weekly are over
Brock’s reign of terror was extremely depressing, the only positives out of that run is that he would give us banger matches, but you knew once that match was over he would go MIA for the next 3 or 4th months with the title which was annoying lol. And people thought Triple H’s reign of terror was terrible💀
Truppe H‘s one is still far worse lol
Obscurity with predictable finishes with a planned end goal being one guy that NO ONE wanted to see fight the title holder again and ACTUALLY WIN IT
Versus
Burials with predicable finishes or numerous rematches that ALWAYS inevitably ended with the title returning to the original’s hands one way or another
And the number of good to great matches can be counted on one hand with fingers left over
……yeah that’s a hard choice
screw this, it's only a reign of terror if you don't like the reign of that designated champion
Brock's was worse because he was non-existent for large stretches.
At least Evolution had a great storyline. Triple H was on Raw every week and defended every Raw ppv. Sure he ruined Goldbergs WWE reign, but his reign put over Benoit and Batista as new world champs. Their reigns felt special at the time because Triple H was so easy to hate back then.
I'd rather a champion be present week in and week out, rain hail or shine, than not at all
This was ultimately what turned me off Main Roster WWE. Brock’s death grip and not showing up, Vince’s “Roman or Bust” agenda, neutering/cooling down anyone that was arguably more over and had more support from the crowd/majority (Braun, Joe, Rollins, etc)
Crowd was stupid they didn't see the it
IMO Lesnar's reign of terror truly ended at WM 36. After losing to reigns at SS 2018 he quickly regained the the title then he dropped the title to Rollins at WM 35 after again regaining it 2-3 months later and then again dropping it to Rollins at SS 2019. After that he went on to bury Kofi's reign by capturing the WWE title in 9 seconds. And when Drew beats him at WM 36 it took him almost 2 years for once again capturing the gold.
Bruh u making a video on this makes me feel old asf🥲I was in high school watching this unfold😭
this reign was the main reason why the company was bad during those years but didnt really felt like it overall because on the other hand, AJ was having his best run with the WWE title
I loved every second of it no matter how much he did or didn't show up. It made for such great surprise appearances. Also I'm a big brock lesnar fan so either way it was great loved all the matches especially the AJ styles match
25:00 I believe the reason was because they wanted Brock to Surpass CM Punk's Reign as the Longest Reigning Champion of the "Modern Era" but considering the fact that they portrayed Lesnar as a Part Timer who "didn't deserve to be the Champion" that decision didn't make much sense either
Roman actually has the longest reing
Irony is that Roman is basically a partimer now
Not really
@@ktbecstasy yes he is dummy
@@richardtheking1218 not really
Technically he is but hes at almost every ppv so not really
@@MonkeBoi66 dude he only wrestled about 7 ppv only this year this ever at least Brock came to more ppv
Honestly I loved Brock’s long reign with the title. It made everything else feel a bit more important with the universal title not being around all that often to challenge for. AJ’s long reign with the WWE title did wonders for that title too. It felt special to see the top titles defended and it made the mid-card titles feel a little bit more necessary, since you weren’t going to be taking those top titles, the mid card title felt like it had a bit more weight. Sadly the hot potato game from Cena>Bray>Orton>Jinder> back to AJ undid that one.
Still waiting for the Roman 2014-2019 video… that’ll be a crazy video
*2015-2019 he was booed 2014 even after the shield breakup he remained over af
Roman reigns was still famous and many time he cheered especially in 14 and 15 in bits and pieces from 16 boos got loud
The Samoa Joe vs Brock got me back into wrestling. I subscribed to the network for great balls of fire. I was so disappointed with the results but i still wanted to give it a chance but when the story turned to Roman vs Brock I had already tuned out and forgot I even subscribed. I belive NXT at that time started to be my only reason for watching at the time.
What I remember most from this reign is how much wwe were just shoving Roman down are throats if they really wanted to make other stars around that time frame joe or strowman were perfect to dethrone lesnar and beating every single person with one f5 made the roster look less , in hindsight this title reign did nothing for anyone and by the time reigns finally beat lesnar it didn’t really mean anything but lesnar was having banger after banger outside of the Wrestlemania and Saudi match with Roman
2021 crown jewel was good
Banger after banger? 😳
The SummerSlam fatal 4 way and his match with AJ are the only bangers in his title reign his match with joe and the triple threat at royal rumble were fine but his match with Braun at no mercy and matches with roman were ass
The one thing I hated about Samoa Joe vs Brock Lesnar is that ended with 1 F5 if was 2 then it would have been fine
Can you do AJ Styles' second world title run 2017-2018 if you already haven't done it
Agree 💯
The time when Brock feuded with Rollins for the UV title and Kofi and Drew matches are also from the same Reign of Terror. Brock's reign began in 2017 and ended in 2020. It doesn't matter if he had two different titles around that time, it still counts.
Ah yes the "part time champion" only taken to an exaggerated extreme. I get Lesnar is an attraction but booking him with the title for THIS long was overkill in ever sense of the word.
Right it’s honestly disrespectful to Rollins, styles and some other pretty big names who got fucked for this shit is stupid Brock don’t need to be champ if he’s gonna be a part timer unfortunately reigns does the same shit
Brock after this reign took our offensive words too serious and his last 2 reigns as WWE Champ he came almost EVERY FREAKING WEEK (sounds crazy af but when he's on TV every week, it's just fun plus it's on the time he's kinda laid back already.)
For me, this reign is good in terms of match untill the Roman ruckus situation happened, as you said the matches quality dropped down. His latest WWE reigns are a lot better than the 2018 Roman feud tbf. (Still that WM38 match is just a anticlimatic ending to a fun Mania)
But what if....Cowboy Brock got a long reign instead of this Brock?
It's when fans started straight up booing(they weren't heel heat boos it was legit I hate this boos) their matches and segments Brock took that personally. Especially the WM 38 one. Only good thing fans can agree was that fatal 4 way at SummerSlam and the match with AJ styles. Other than that this run was bland. They tried to build Joe up but failed him
@@--thatbih Brock: T R A C T O R
Brock run with the WWE title from October 2019-March 2020 aside from that Cain match at 2019 Crown Jewel is way more good than this long title run imo
Roman In 2017 and tribal chief Roman seem like almost different people
The main belt should only be defended at major events. Elevate the US and IC belts and this wouldn't be an issue.
that is what HHH is doing now
I agree
5:35 fave raw segment with Angle as GM
Man when he defended the title, everytime it was A BANGER!!!
And yet it wasn't
At least Brock didn’t have any help in his title defenses
Thank You WP!!
Bruh, you too. Brock actually won that match. The rule is that both feet should touch the floor to win. Roman rolled out first, but his one foot was on the cloth of Apron and NEVER touched the ground. Whereas Brock's both feet touched the ground and he stood up, hence he won.
Wrong
idc what anyone says, Brock title run made matches feel real and scary 😂😂😂😂 AJ, Bryan, Rollins/Cena triple threat, Mania 31…. Great sun 31-35 imo 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ bro usta be a Beast fr
I think this gave leaner a reign that people could remember and not just another championship. I think having not too many opponents to pick from def didn’t help at all, Cana could’ve killed it w him but obv a little late after they’ve feuded already, Ambrose/Moxley could’ve been cool to revisit the mania 32 monstrosity, Corbin would’ve been interesting, Seth could’ve fought him but just didn’t happen, Wyatt a decent choice too at that time bc it would’ve finally been 1v1, Kevin owens or Jericho too. I think the reign was good as it was, but had lots of room for improvement
The Joe promo where he listed everyone he's beaten will always be hilarious.
He really thought he was something after saying he beat Rollins when Brock beat Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, The Rock, Prime Kurt Angle.
It was like saying you're better than the straight A student because you got a B- in Digital Art or some useless shit class like that.
Looking back through your videos ic now how great this run really was. Star power
Fun fact brock lesnar broke cm punks previous world title record in this reign
It has been said to death but the insane focus to push Roman during this run was mind boggling. They had so many potential star making moments during this reign but kept shooting them all down just to get that roman moment at WM that they are still kind of chasing after to this day. Roman pinned Edge and Daniel B at WM yet it feels like they are still chasing some crowning WM moment for him.
Romans current run already gave him his crowning moment. He’s literally the biggest thing in current wrestling right now and it isn’t even close so the only they’re chasing is the next big thing. Reigns is pretty much done once he loses the titles
@@papiiluvz I don't believe they will stop until he gets that WM against the Rock.
They did same thing in 2015 when he was constantly beating kane, big show and miro sadly miro looked like joober that time. Remember league of Nations which was made just to job to roman Reigns
You have to be in denial to still think they're chasing Roman's moment. Once he stacked Edge and Bryan, THAT was his moment.
@@pinealdreams1064 They were still trying to get the rock for WM this year so they still want that match. That is the moment im mainly referring to.
Someone give this guy a like for speaking through 33min straight like a Gatling.
If you think back on this with the lens as a Brock lesnar fan and cheer him as a face or tweener, this run was amazing
I don't consider brock's run as a reign of terror him appearing made moments actually feel special a champ if he bored me then i would consider it a reign of terror
@@retronerds6884 big facts but non absent champions get old after a while and that’s what happened with me after Vince got cold feet with Roman. Like I deadass just wanted fans to cheer Roman so we can just move on to the next step 😂😂😂😂
It wasn’t a reign of terror. He didn’t defend it often but he was still entertaining and interesting. Unlike Jarrett in TNA and HHH in ‘02-‘05. Pure torture.
Least Jarrett and HHH showed up every week, something the main champion should do, Brock and Roman's reign of terrors are pure cancer
@@blacksabbath2024 jarrett and hhh showing up every night was one of the main problems with their reigns the champ does not need to be their every night
@@retronerds6884stop defending Lesnar's trashy reign of terror. it completely killed the credibility of the universal championship by not defending it and dissapearing for months
Now we got the Roman Reign of terror
Ha all roman matches have been bangers excelt for wrestlemania against brock lesnar.
roman title reign is good
Reign of terrot would be like jeff jarett , triple h, and brock 2017 -2018 title run
Roman reigns good match at summerslam against cena
Great match against brock lesnar at summerslam.
Both back to back great matches at crown jewel against brock 2021 and logan 2022
Back to back great royal rumble march kevin owens 2021 and seth rollins 2022

Good match against cesaro at backlash 2021
Good match against edge at money in the bank 2021
Good match against balor at extreme rules 2021
Both good matches at survivor series against drew mcintyre 2020 and big e 2021
Great match against drew mcintyre at clash at the castle.
Roman reigns great matches against jey uso at night of champions and hell in a cell 2029.
Roman reigns good match against kevin owens at tlc 2020.
Roman reigns only have a few bad pay per view matches or matches in general compared to brock lesnar.
Also roman reigns have more memorable segments, roman reigns is way more over as a heel than brock was from 2017-2018.
Roman reigns 1 year title from from 2020-2021 better than brock 2017-2018.
Roman teigns part time title reign after wrestlamnia 38 is better than brock lesnars title reign.
I dont see how this is a reign of terror.
Roman's better, better matches n great storyline
I still think either Joe or Strowman should of took The Universal Title off of Brock
Fr Joe should’ve won
Joe had it. But his injuries prove he would have gotten stripped
Joe was the perfect candidate. Heyman betraying Brock and joining Jow would’ve been amazing
Joe should’ve beaten Brock, mans legitimately looks like he could beat Brock irl. And before the UFC geeks come in and give me a history of Brock career, I said “Look” and yes ik it’s booked (not fAkE). Personally would’ve wanted Joe to beat Brock, Braun doesn’t cut it for me
Yep
Can you make a video on Daniel Bryan’s save the planet run?
I'll do it as a bonus video
Underrated run
Every thing brock does is lit
WWE has so many titles that having part time world champions is fine as long as it elevates the other titles. The US title feels really important on Seth Rollins right now.
This was my favourite time of the modern era. Brock is a legit star. Not many champions in the past decade have felt worthy of holding that belt.
This was by far one of the worst time periods in wrestling IMO. To be fair, 2017 wasn’t THAT bad, as Lesnar had some good matches (Summerslam 4 way, and AJ match to be exact), but he rarely showed up, and when he did show up, they completely halted Joe and ESPECIALLY Braun’s momentum in boring matches that ended with just one F5. And it was so painfully obvious that it was all done as a desperate attempt to get Reigns over. And then once we finally got to the match, an already horrendous WrestleMania was made even worse when they put out that absolute stinker of a main event… AND HAD LESNAR GO OVER AND CONTINUE TO HOLD THE TITLE HOSTAGE. So in 2018, we were still stuck with no world champion, Reigns whining more than the heels, guys like Rollins, Joe, and Lashley being sidelined in favor of Reigns again, while they completely ruined the rest of the roster with dumb storylines like that awful burial of a feud that was the Braun/KO feud… and when we finally got to the Reigns/Lesnar rematch, Reigns didn’t even win clean, so what the fuck was the purpose of all the buildup and dragging it out, and torturing us fans in the process? We may never know. All I know is that I’m glad Vince stepped down so we (hopefully) don’t ever have a repeat of the nightmare that was RAW in 2018.
Roman won clean
@@jonhperez6068 The SummerSlam match wasn’t a clean win. Brock was too busy beating up Braun on the outside, so as soon as he got in the ring he was hit with a Spear and pinned. The only time Reigns beat Lesnar clean was at Mania this year.
@@BrolyLSSJ01 nah , both were clean
I remember now 2018 was very bad. I had already started watching less after 2017 WrestleMania when they took everything which made SmackDown special and I didn't had time to watch raw.
He Really Didnt Defend The Title Like That But He Did Put On Some Great Matches Especially The One Brock Vs Styles That Was The Best Match Even Though It Wasn’t For The Title But If He Defended It More The Title Would Of Been Better 💯
Great balls of fire lol
Ayyy
“You either die or live long enough to see yourself become a villain”
Roman Reigns waged war against Brock Lesnar to take his Universal title away from him and defeat Brock whom he never got to beat during their previous encounters, only for Reigns to be the alpha male who shows up whenever he feels like it and depriving everybody on the roster a top tier championship to fight for
If they would of pushed Samoa Joe as the next peoples champ after that promo…. Severely underrated.
That Mania 34 match suuuuucked
What they did right with this run compared to the earlier run from Summerslam 2014 to Wrestlemania 31 was a separate world title was, in 2017-2018, thankfully around with the WWE Championship. So making the Universal Championship a part-timer focus wasn't as big a deal, we had the WWE title to keep main event focus on top of the midcard titles feeling elevated.
Back in 2014-2015 we only had ONE unified world title, on top of that during that specific period of time the Intercontinental and United States titles were each still pretty mediocre, even the US Championship wouldn't feel much elevated until right when this run finished as Cena won it. In addition Lesnar's part-time schedule at that time had him appearing far less within his more limited 2012-2015 schedule compared to the much more available 2015-2018 update, just think after Night of Champions 2014 when Brock was the only world Champion we didn't see him in a match again until Royal Rumble 2015... or for that matter even appear until a mid-December Raw three months later.
2014 was an odd year with what was at the time WWE's SOLE unified world title, out of that year's 12 calendar pay-per-views there were four where it wasn't fought for (Payback, Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, and TLC).
I would actually say Lesnars reign of terror went till Wrestlemania 35, when Rollins beat him
Honestly liked this reign up until that awful and I mean awful WrestleMania 34 match that Roman should have won.
I really believe Roman Reigns was go win the title at Wrestlemania 34 since Brock lesnar was supposed to leave wwe.
@@vjwebb6182 Same to a degree Roman Should have won. The match told that story of Reigns taking all that abuse only for him to get busted open and win the title nope. Disaster of a match I remember fans booing this loudly at the end and chanting this is boring or something.
You should make a video on Big shows ECW title run
I love your videos covering this era cause this reign is what made me stop watching WWE consistently up until the build to the 2020 Royal Rumble so I missed so much. I'm glad I did stop watching cause I knew Roman would eventually end up winning the title but what makes it even worse is that it went on for so long even though we all knew the end result
As an mma fan i knew there was no way brock was returning. 1. He was 40 years old and hadn't been in the octagon since ufc 200. 2. There would be no usada exemption for him as he popped against mark hunt at ufc 200. 3. Even in both of their primes DC would have destroyed brock.
i like how wwe gave brock a new shirt every week😭
No one likes to mention how his early career deteriorated his health and led to alcohol and substance abuse issues. People should be glad he even came back and all, and found a shedule that worked for him and still brought his star power to wwe. Or the fact that Roman Reigns has had just as much of a reign of terror, even taking BOTH world championchips.
Brock holding a title is never a bad thing, he legitimizes all he touches. If he was a "part time" champion at least he always felt like a a big deal, even Roman has done well. I do not need to see the Champion every single week on TV, makes them more special, less is more.
He legitamizes, yes. But, defending your title just 6 times in 503 days is terrible. Roman has defended the title 25-26 times in his 800 days reigns. Thats how you 'Legitimize' a title without the reign getting boring.
"He legitimizes all he touches." Get off his nuts, bruh. Jeez.
@@gauravshahi6334 People complain about Roman being a part time champ, but he's already appeared more than Brock did when he was the champion. Yeah, he doesn't appear on every PPV, but he at least doesn't disappear for 2-3 months on end.

Fighting champions get stale fast. And are very overexposed.
That crowd at Mania 34 was terrible for that main event and I'm glad Roman didn't win there

Triple H's wasn't bad compared to reigns and brock. He actually made stars with his and made people look better than what they were most of the time. Easily one of the worst title reigns ever to exist. While a great chunk of Brock’s matches were good, whenever he showed up anyway, the fact that he barely showed up and never got punished for it, really makes me miss the days when if you never showed up, the belt is relinquished, so we can have a committed champion who is determined to fight at all times, no matter what. No unnecessary part timing and that. So glad it’s over now, but I swear this was such a bad time for the belt as it was nonexistent.

Judging by the comments the IWC still likes to simp for Brock Lesnar.
He got replaced by some guy name
Hedeinreich.

the current bloodline reign is the true terror. it was fun at first but every match ends the same and what's the point when you always know the bloodline is gonna win
No
What's the point of watching movies if we know the hero is going to win 🙂
I like Brock as universal champion
second
Brock holding the title hostage the way he did made raws main even REALLY unfun to watch
Sure when brock DID show up it was a huge deal but how often do we get to see him on Average ?
i love how the IC title has always been the replacement when the universal champion didn’t give a damn
2017-18 with brock and the last year with roman 😂😂
I mean it could have been great but, it seems like Lesnar was at sometimes lazy on this reign fort the short duration of the matches thank good he now has the cowboy /farmer gimmick
How could it have been great with lesnar there 10% of the time
The Reign Of Terror of the Universal title is Roman Reigns's current reign, at least with Lesnar he didn't bury 80% of the main roster.
Lesnar killed the Universal Championship's credibility
@@telecaster-freechannel9405 That I know
I liked the bloody frenzy finish of WM34 but man the rest was dull.
Honestly, this could very well be one of the worst reigns of all time. To be honest, I don't remember one good match he had. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this title run is WrestleMania 34 and how god-awful that main event was. If I'm being honest, it shouldn't have been Roman who ended it, it should have been Samoa joe.
