    I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to the Georgia/Savannah area several years ago, it’s so sad how much more crime happened in SF than this area, I went back to the city to visit family and a homeless person busted open my friends back windshield within a ten minute window of us entering a store, what is even going on?

      @@jkarma3356 you are dumb, I now live in Australia, they don't have 2A here, and do I feel safe in Sydney or Melbourne at night nowadays? Not really.
      Type up shooting Melbourne, or shooting Adelaide. Adelaide is where I live, generally safe, but u will see on 7news just 2wks ago a teenager was shot. And that was the third shooting within a week.
      Not to mention a family friend I know very well, their teenage son got stabbed about two months ago, if he had a legal gun, it would be a different story.

    You can't argue against this position as the level of crime has definitely increased over the last 4 years. I am guessing the claims of declining theft arise simply because law enforcement classified each flash mob theft as a single theft event rather than multiply it by the number of people (or losses) involved.

    Wanna know why laws don't work as well as people think they should?
    Because people don't fear jail enough to want to stay away from it.
    When you actively take the fear of jail away from people even MORE, then criminals are even LESS likely to not break the law.
    It's basic common sense.

    Here's a question I have thought about for many years...If prison is a method of reforming a criminal in the hopes of someday being released back into society a better person, then what does a life sentence do?...Nothing!...I would give the convicted two options, death or years...For some they would rather end this ordeal and to others maybe they would rather live...Just thoughts...

      They do their jobs but, if the law doesn't consider those crimes a higher crime and instead gives them 1-2 years in prison, you're only telling them that they can commit crimes because the punishments are laughable. And that's when they're punished, let's not forget the majority get released fast under the same laws.

      @@azzv.kuskatan when the mormon pedophile priest that abused me throughout childhood escaped custody from California I tracked him down and tried to give the state his location so they could go and pick him up to protect the kids I was told that locking up pedophiles is a low-priority and if they can evade capture for a year they stop looking for them and they said that the drug war was the cause of prison overcrowding and the state of California apparently is more concerned with protecting adults from hurting themselves then it is in preventing predators from preying upon children. I don't know of any government that God supports

      They can’t do their jobs because we’ve reached a point in our society where if they do they’ll get slapped with a lawsuit. Plus the laws on the books since 2020 have changed because voters voted measures they didn’t understand. Now it’s biting everyone in the behind and legally the cops have to let things happen. Either you want them to do their jobs and keep the criminals out of the public sphere or continue to let them out. You can’t have it both ways.

      @@RunDMG916 I been slayed by the system a few times and seen people with worse charges than me get less time. I also have had family members who have had to fight football jersey numbers when they should have received lesser charges and sentences.
      I believe in being tough on violence, crime against hardworking Americans trying to live their lives or raise a family.
      There is a difference between petty crime and serious crime, serious crime needs tough consequences.
