That's part of the problem. They created laws that help create homelessness not to mention all the stupid things the liberals politicians do. For example your house is not your house no matter how much you think its paid off in full. You are just renting it from the government. See what happens if you get sick and can't pay your property taxes on it for a few years. Your house is gone. Another the for profit policing system we have now. Most tickets people get are for people not doing anything really dangerous and aren't in imenent danger of harming anyone yet they are getting punished. Its basically preventing future crime that never might never happen. A stupid frivolous traffic citation can put someone in the position to lose their job and their liscence especially someone that's living on 10dollars an hour because that's all the jobs that you're state has to offer. Insurance is just a money racket to make insurance companies rich. The country is beyond effed up. This has been building to this for a long time. Republicans and democrats of the past lead us to where we are today. If you want a strong healthy society you'll deregulate the country and let the free market solve the nation's problems. Doing that will solve so many of our country's problems. You can't even by a decent used car anymore without paying 10gs. Thank the government for that. Let's crush up all the used carn inventory of the country. Let's make it harder for low income people to get transportation. The goverment effs up anything and everything. Then i saw on the news bill gates is the largest owner of farmland in the country. You can see his potato farms for McDonald's from space. America is effed up because of all the v corporations. Corporations are inherently socialist in nature. I used to support stores like Wal-Mart and be all for freedom but now im now so sure a anymore. “Council member Bonin’s revealing comment: The City of Los Angeles intends to use bailout funds to buy distressed properties and use them to house the unhoused.” Sounds like a great way to use tax payer money to invest into rental/real estate or “project housing”. We, tax payers, will also be providing regular income (rent $) for these investors while properties appreciate over time. No doubt us tax payers will also cover the cost of somebody managing the property’s, repair cost...etc. This will likely drive surrounding property value down momentarily and will build a base for gentrification. The homeless crisis will continue unresolved and will only be relocated to another sector, now in larger numbers since the cost of living will be even higher. Another plan that will surely fail, meanwhile corrupt government officials will be lining their pockets. I can’t believe that’s it’s been decades and this is one problem that’s never been close to being finished or quite started to say the least.

You’re absolutely correct. 10 years I’ve lived inside the first block of the boardwalk. I’ve worked out there. It’s always been busy until these recent policies and yes ma’am, I drink coffee on the boardwalk everyday...there aren’t any tourist. My friends are artist...some have moved after successfully working here for years.

I lived in Santa Monica for several years and we used to call Venice ‘Ghetto by the sea’. It was fun to go down to the boardwalk during the day, but it got sketchy at night. Now it looks like an absolute $h!t hole all the time.
