Y’all cannot continue to be shocked that Christians and other Abrahamics are homophobic.
To them, via the Quran or Bible, sexual sin is immoral. Religion is the sole thing getting many people through life, they’re not giving that up for butt sex.

We do need more of these interviews. I imagine most of us who pay close attention to politics are still mindboggled by voters who flip from Biden 2020 to Trump 2024, so anything that helps us understand this demographic is valuable.

I don’t think it is mind boggling at all. People blame the current president for any perceived economic downturn, and conservative media has pushed the “Bidenflation” message hard for the past 3 years. It makes total sense why an uninformed voter with right-leaning tendencies would have voted for Biden in 2020 because of the disastrous Trump response to Covid, but intend to vote for Trump in 2024 because of perceived economic woes (along with all of the culture war bs).

2:50 It still amazes me how many Republican voters believe "hard work" is somehow the purview of the conservative. The most productive areas of the country are cities which are almost exclusively governed by Democrats, and where a majority of voters are Democrats. Who is "working hard" here, exactly?

    • @no-barknoonan1335

It's an ego problem, and also a survivorship bias problem. We measure the people who worked hard and got far in life, but we don't measure the people who work hard and don't get as far in life. These people assume it must be that they didn't work hard enough, when they may have worked harder and smarter than them, but had some amount of bad luck or bad timing. It's an ego problem, these people want everyone to kiss their feet and stroke their ego. I'm not saying hard work doesn't matter, I'm just saying its far from a univariable equation. There are far more inputs to success, than hard work, but these people are unwilling to consider anything other than their self serving perspectives.

Different definitions of hard work. IT plays a bigger part in the economy. Jobs that aren’t as labor intensive but add a lot of value in profits should still be considered a type of work. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.

You never want to completely give up anywhere, but, aside from a few Red holdouts, California has turned into the People's Republican Of Californiastan.
California, for the first time ever, lost Congressional sets as a result of the 2020 Census. People are fleeing the state's Progressive policies. But, sadly for their destination states, many are bringing their failed Progressive politics with them. I've never understood that: if they failed >therehere
