  • Full Tutorial on How to FIX THE PAINTED BLACK PLASTICS ON YOUR CAR! Cars today are using more and more of the painted black plastic finish on both the interior and exterior components of vehicles. These finishes tend to scratch and degrade much faster leaving your cars finish looks dull and old. I get questions all the time about how to fix one of the most common spots for this black plastic trim: The Car Door Pillar. Many people will polish this area and it will come out looking even worse and you may think that you ruined the panel. but I have good news.. Its not ruined and its easier to fix than you think... ENJOY!!!

The B pillars on my Navigator were looking pretty sad with minor scratches, swirls and had a nickle size dent on the driver's door pillar.
I filled the small dent with spot putty and choose to wrap the pillars with a good quality 3M High Gloss Black wrap and they look new again. It was my first DIY attempt to apply a wrap, but being a small feature and basically flat, it was extremely simple. After success with the B pillars, I also wrapped the C pillars, which were body paint color, but now looks much better in gloss black, providing a transition from the rear-side black glass around to the rear window glass hatch. These were a little more challenging with additional contours, but they came out perfect. Just another option.

Try to do a search online I think they have 16oz bottle but the only one I found on Amazon was the 32oz. The one I have that I have came in my glovebox monthly subscription and it’s 16oz. Not sure if that was just for a sample or if they actually sell it that way but worth looking

To avoid these from the start always dry that area in one direction no circular motion.
