I love how there is CBeebies land that is all cute and happy and then you have a literal Satan rollercoaster halfway across the park

i love how when you’re queueing up you feel happy/ excited to go on, but when u sit in the roller coaster fear fills you 😭
Other way around for me - shitting myself in the queue but loving the feeling once I'm sat down. That's what forced me to walk out the nemesis queue, and I still regret it.

It’s the opposite for me. Genuinely crying having panic attack in the queue, almost hugging a stranger during the pre-show and then absolutely loving the ride.
We can’t forget this ride is literally about human sacrifices

Yeah. That really puts me off it, which is a shame because the coaster track looks cool.
The film is such a great one tho. If you can stand uncomfortableness it’s worth the watch

+AD This same park also have the “Smiler” which is a much more explicitedly theme ride about some evil organization and mind control. I don’t think vague human sacrifice is too big of a deal. I know about the Aztecs. I’ve came up with a lot more fuck up things in my head

I agree with you on safety being the No.1 priority, because for them to open the park anyway despite the outbreak would just be a complete and reckless disregard to our public health and wellbeing, not to mention how much more the virus would have spread... it just doesn’t bear thinking about.
Josh Bacon They opened the park while there is a virus? No wonder so many people died already people aren’t taking the virus seriously a lot of people got arrested because they left their houses

Went on this one yesterday and it was a pleasure to ride this one. The speed on this thing is insane, the G force is incredibly powerful fast. One of my favourites at Alton Towers. I hope this one stays at the park for many year's. Its good fun.
Now if only if this ride had some bees and Nicolas Cage's over the top voice lines

There are wasps all throughout the queueline and in the bins, they love the wood and heat. Does that suffice?

Despite events that have happened at this park, rides breaking down, long queues thousands of people look forward to coming here every year, it is one of my favourite places on this planet and I hope this ‘thing’ passes over soon, it is for everyone’s safety that it has closed but I am sure we will be seeing that purple corkscrew again
It would be nice if they made a replica of the corkscrew for the 50th anniversary. an actual rise. Bring back some classics towers.

@@irlbratzdoll_4994x the accident was human error, there was nothing wrong with the ride itself and ontop of that they invested 18m pounds into it, i don't see why they would shut it
@@irlbratzdoll_4994x Smiler is fantastic, the crash was nothing to do with the ride itself. Should we ban cars too? No of course not. Alton Towers is my happy place.

I rode this pretty close to the opening weekend, and it already feels weirdly nostalgic... hope to get on this wonderfully themed coaster again soon!

From the several months of the drained Flume to speculating over the theme.
For a rollercoaster that doesn't corkscrew or loop it's one awesome ride the feeling well worth any wait.

1:03 - 1:09 is probably the most intense part in my opinion. That quick whip downwards followed by an airtime hill is crazy.

Wish I was 30 yrs or so, younger. Back in the 80's I used to visit the resort very regularly and enjoyed the many attractions that were there then. I can remember the Black Hole roller-coaster and the famous Corkscrew. Looking at these rides now; Amazing as they may seam, i am not sure my heart could take it lol.

I went in August of this year... And let me tell you, its sooo much better in person. I kinda wish it lasted longer though. The 90 minute queue was still worth it.
I was at the front of this and the Smiler on my first time at Alton Towers. And there was a Thunderstorm, Lightning and massive Hail.... 😬

I went on the O2 priority day which was the LAST day it was open and I’m so happy we did :)
This film helped create the idea for Midsommar, really cool they made it into a ride
That film got roundly trashed by Critical Drinker look it up it's hilarious
It’s just that I love upside down roller coasters
alton tower can have a coaster about carebears on one side and a coaster about gouging out someone's eyes on the other

To anyone who’s going on it the first time I went on the first time today and omg! It was amazing! You get butterfly’s when your in the queue and waiting but when it starts I legit felt like I was in a pov! Since I’ve been watching them! It does feel faster then it looks tho! But it’s amazing
