Deserves a sub! I have an iPad with this issue but suspect a cable was inserted incorrectly causing a small over voltage somewhere on the 3.3v lines.

Great helpful video , I realise this is an old post , but I have the very same issue with the screen , only the filter( the one next to your one ) had blower up and split in two and the pad on the end nearest the end of the connector is totally missing , so I done a jumper wires from the one pad to the first leg of the connector , I think the issue still remains but now the power manager chip is getting really hot 🥵 my ZXW has to be bonded , so I am hoping you could tell me a better place to run that jump wire other then the connector please 🥴🙏

Great equipment and set-up. I always say to do the job efficiently, use the right tool for the right job and your set-up looks great. Of course the right knowledge and experience also helps and you come across as knowledgeable and experienced in this area too.
Are there also robotic arms available too to aid with component placement and desoldering etc? What other methods are available for soldering/desoldering small surface mount components apart from a heat gun?
Practice is the mother of all skills. Everything is done by hand. No robotic arms. Hot air station, and Solder iron is all you need. Hot tweezers helps but not needed.
what software are you using?
I have this same issue with my Ipad pro, except its not a pattern type of lighting, its big small here and there along the edge, and one bigger one in the center .....now contemplating if I should get it repaired or get a new one?

I am currently experiencing this problem as well...never had it happen before and have had iPads since the beginning...looks like I'm gonna have to send it off to apple cause thankfully it's still under warranty.

I have the same problem with my iPad. I suspect it is because i let the screen on for too long. Sometimes 5 to 6 hours non stop, because the kids like to watch songs on youtube.
How are your hands so steady?
They can be shaky at times depending on the size and location of the component. Sometimes there are no room for mistakes. For the most part, i try to keep them as steady as i can.
My iPad 2nd gen has this dark spot issue on the right side but it presents in three triangles. After watching your video there is no way that I could fix this myself. How would I find a person who could fix this? How much would it cost? I'm located in Princeton, NJ. Thank you for this Great video!

Dark Wyvern mine is the IPad 6th generation, and it gave the same defect right after one year of use. It seems that most iPads happen this unfortunately.
Júlio César exactly , it worked well till mine (6 gen )was under warranty and now 2 big black spots started appearing on left side of screen ,did u find solution to it.
