- In this jewelry making tutorial, I will go over the steps I take to make a sterling silver turquoise ring. I will show you how I make the bezel, solder it to the backplate, add decorative elements, form the ring band, then polish and oxidize the silver and set the stone.

This is one of the best videos I’ve watched so far! Very clear instructions and step by step on materials too 👏🏾 Also love your ring and style! 😍
Oh my goodness! This just made my day!! Thank you so so much!!!🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
I agree with you! I learned so much.
I've only ever bought the finished product, so I'd never seen the process until I blundered across your video -- absolutely AWESOME!!! I'm not going to attempt silversmithing at my age, but I've acquired an incredible appreciation for your skills! And from now on, I'll be able to comprehend what I'm seeing when I examine the finished ring. Thank you so much! 😺💕🐾
Aww thank you so much Nancy!!💛☺️
the best thing about this video is that you actually have good taste. Beautiful!
Haha thank you very much!😉❤️
Though I would never silversmith, I am fascinated at the art. The whole process is mesmerizing and the product itself is therefore worth more than 100$. I can't believe people sell for 20 and 30$ sometimes. I'm happy I watched this video. And the ring is beautiful.
Thank you so much for your kind words!❤️

Love your videos! Wondering if you have any tips on sizing the ring band?
I love your ring. It is so nice when other jewelry makers show all the steps. When I was in college, we were taught the exact same steps. Thank you, I enjoyed the lesson!
Oh thank you so much for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed it!😊
Perfect 👍👍
Thank you so much!
I have watched this over and over it is by far my favorite turquoise ring video, you do a fine job of teaching us how and what to do. Your voice is so calming that I don't get flustered when working on a project, thank you so very much!
Wow, thank you so much!! You are so kind💛
Very nice, I will be using your method seems more detailed but more simplified, thank you for sharing with us!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing
Thank you!!!
I like the way u solder your bezels, them chips drive me crazy
Right! Wire solder all the way!😀
I built a cabbing machine for cabochon making. I’ve made many gemstones. I’m going to try silver smithing thanks
Очень интересное видео. Было приятно наблюдать за работой женских нежных ручек!
Thank you!!
This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. How long did it take you, from start to finish? Beautiful!
Thank you so much! And on average it takes me a 2-3 hours depending on the piece. However, when I am filming myself it takes 1000x longer 🤣🤣
You did great Leanne…. And your you tube has really grown. You probably don’t recognize my username on CZcams but this is AUMi Jewels…. I’m still teach my silversmith classes, but I’m also starting CZcams channel on MetalClay silver… you know I feel so bad because I judge people with metal clay silver jewelry I thought oh there are just cheating. But let me tell you it’s a lot of work. Cool Tools has sponsored me and I really now appreciate those Metal Clay designers. It’s a lot more tedious work. But being a Silversmith designer myself and you know this just as well as me that the back has to look just as pretty as the front… I already started a different Instagram page that’s only dedicated to Metal Clay Silver work. And I’ve got to work on my Silver Smith Instagram page I am so behind. You know one of the things that I like with you teaching on CZcams is your voice is very soothing and I agree with you 100% Silversmithing and Metal Clay Silver is very therapeutic for me as well.. well you keep doing an awesome job I am so proud of you…🔥🔥🔥🤗👏👏👏👏👏
So nice to meet you! And that’s so cool! Metal clay has been on my list of things to learn!😃 I’ll defs check out your CZcams channel on that! And thank you so much for your kind words and support!❤️🙏🏻
@@SpiritMountainSilver Good work deserves a lot of good praise and I think your CZcams channel is fabulous… i’m real close to getting my CZcams channel go in for Metal Clay I’ll let you know hey I’ll send you a DM on Instagram…
Great Tutorial, where do you get your stones?
This is my first time seeing one of your videos. The shots are so nice, and your voice and calming and easy to follow, thank you!! May I ask, how do you know when to use soft solder versus medium and hard?
Hi there! Thank you so much for all of your kind words! I actually answered this question a few times in this comment's section. A lot of people seemed to be curious about this. It's a pretty long winded answer but basically each solder has a different melting point (hard having the highest melting point and easy having the lowest). So rule of thumb is to start with hard then work your way down. I am going to try and make a video about the different types of solder and when to use them, so stay tuned!😊
This is great!! I’m just getting started! Where do you find your embellishments or did you make them?
Очень понравилось видимо, всё четко показано и разьяснено. Кольцо очень красивое с сияющей бирюзой. Творческих успехов!
Thank you!!💛
Awesome thankyou
You bet!
This is such a fantastic video! I really appreciate you linking all your tools as well. It’s been incredibly helpful for me as I start my metalsmithing journey :) I do have a question though. I was wondering what you used to cut the 6 GA wire for the ring band? I love those thicker ring bands as well and I definitely want to incorporate them into my pieces. I just bought a bunch of 6 GA copper wire to practice with, and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to cut it 😅 thanks so much for your help!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful! I will either use my cutting shears or my jeweler's saw to cut the thicker gauges. :)
I hope you keep using full videos for your CZcams channels 🤗
You got it! I have a couple on deck right now so stayed tuned!☺️
