- My buddy Jason preps his 2006 Suzuki DR 650 for the upcoming off road adventures we have planned. The long to-do list includes; removing some weight & safety switches to eliminate failure points, lowering the foot pegs, protecting the case from the foot levers, installing a seal retainer, putting thread locker on the Neutral sensor switch & a few others.

every make and model has little problems that need addressing....thanks for pointing them out and showing how to fix them...U DA MAN.
Procycle case guards and some high temp rtv is a good way to prevent the shifter from punching the case when you eventually lay it down
That's what the one I just picked up has!!!
Good stuff. I’m in the market for one of these.
Excellent. Thank you..
I have a 2022 model, one of the things that bothers me about these bikes is the high front fender that lets the front tire throw dirt and mud and debris straight up into your engine cooling fins... We need a mod to lower the front fender down so we can put a mud flap behind it and keep our engines clean while riding. Great video, thanks for posting it.
Dude is bent over a dirty DR. 🙄🙄🙄
Got a DR650!?? Stepping up your game!!!
De smog as well! Right.
You guys getting ready for a bdr?
procycle jet kit and full exhaust w/filter and this thing will rip
Oh yeah!!!
So the F-250 Diesel oil drain plug worked out fine? No clearance issues?
Yes sir.
@@SwankyCatProductions awesome I'm an F-250 owner too and keep a couple spares around...
Oh, YOU are still on a KLR. Is what it is.
Another failure point on some dr 650s is also 3rd gear
Mmm I think Jason said that. Pretty common?
Yes but theres a mod of a better 3rd gear pinion out but its over £500.
Had 2 3rd gear failures in my 2011 loved the bike hope other dr 650 riders have had better luck
I have 2018 DR. When did Suzuki address the neutral safety switch bolt issue?
Thanks from Mosinee.
I just traded my KLR for a 2018 DR! I believe Jason said mine (and yours by extension) should be all set on both the neutral fasteners and the output shaft seal retainer. I think they fixed both a few years before ours were made.
What's wrong with your KLR…… As far as I know these two bikes, apart from Doohickey within Kawasaki, are almost the same thumper.
Just get a KLR 650.
Nahh, it doesnt compare to a juiced up DR. Not even close.
Too heavy and slow, aftermarket isn't as good.
