Another WINNER Jessie! Thanks for the Great job breaking down the steps for everyone to follow. I have the 3,1 2008 Mac Pro 2 x 2 Ghz Quad Core Intel. Have an AMD Radeon RX 570 8 GB, 56 GB ram, and 2 TB SSD. The day 1.3.0 OCLP came out I installed 14.2 on this 15 yr old workhorse. I always experiment on one of the other SSD drives I have in this computer first. Then install on my main drive. Success! Every thing works as it should. You Rock!

    Hi Jessie’s Flying
I went through the process of installing macOS Sonoma 14.0 on a 2014 Macmini, High HighSierra 10.13.6 software. Using a 16 GB USB drive to download Open Core Legacy Patcher, as instructed to create my own installer. Where I followed your CZcams instructions on my iPhone so as to do it precisely. Everything went as stated on your CZcams site instruction with no hiccups. I was going to give an excellent review and a thumbs up. However, the irony is that the Sonoma 14.0 software banner is up and running on my Macmini screen with the correct date and time, as well as the login in password entry screen at the bottom of the middle screen. As well as, my wireless keyboard and mouse, that are also working. However, after i enter the correct password on that screen, where my full name shows on top, and the flickering cursor awaits for password entry confirmation. Where I’ve entered the correct password numerous times, and it does not go any further. What is happening is that after entry of the password the cursor entry cycles round-and-round. Like it’s about to move forward to the another session, but it never does. Where I am not able to see my desktop screen or do any other screen function. Because nothing shows up, seeming like it’s locked up in the entry password Sonoma screen mode. Please help me with this issue, since I don’t know what I should to do next or what I have done wrong to get this Macmini working correctly. Is there a TUTORIAL on this issue that you may have on this issue.
    Thank you,
    George

I have had a heck of a time doing a clean install of Sonoma on this 5,1 2009 dual core. I finally did a Monterey install which seemed to friendly with this cMacPro model in particular.
I THEN saw Jessies new video, and tried the upgrade method, at 20:00 min mark. I did download and installed the KDK support package first, downloaded the latest Sonoma via OCLP, and then did the upgrade, not clean install. OCLP did reinstall the KDK after Sonoma was installed, and I did see reference to merging KDK during the OCLP post install patches. So I still think it's safer to pre install KDK as mentioned in the above video.
By far this has been the most successful way to install Sonoma on this 2009 5,1. Just completed and so far, all looks well, except for bluetooth at the moment. I may need to upgrade that internal bluetooth card. Otherwise, seems to work just fine.
I do see from restart to restart, I get the gray circle slash screen and need to do a manual restart, again, not sure what this is. I am curious if this is a hardware issue. But overall, this has been the smoothest Sonoma install experience on a 2009, 5,1. Thanks Jessie! As always, your videos and shared wisdom are top shelf! ~ MJ

Jessie: Thanks for another detailed video about update issues. I want to ask specific question about iMac 2015 which has fusion drive the same as your 2017 iMac. I have updated HDD to SSD and also smaller apple SSD to larger NVME SSD. You mentioned to install opencore to small apple SSD right ? For me I have both larger NVME SSD 2TB and also larger SATA SSD. Which SSD you would suggest to install open core in my iMac ? I don't know much about fusion drive but I know they are getting slower and slower with time, sometimes I got only about 100MB speed or less in fusion drive that is why I upgraded the both drives but now I am setting both drives as individual drives. In order to get NVME speed, shall I install open core to NVME drive only ? I am eager to see your video about what to do when fusion drive breaks. When you are going to release it ? You mentioned fusion drive breaks mean no longer working or you separate the drive functions to work individually as I do now ?
