- Another November weekend at Avon Dassett Quarry. ( was it 1999?) This was the year that was filmed for the Sky TV 'Off the road series'. Its also the year when Chris Acocks Scammell was rolled and damaged during recovery. These weekends don't seem to happen any more , is that because the vehicles ( or maybe the owners) got too old? Enjoy the RSOLEs and their mates at play in the mud.

The first two vehicles are Bedford RL's Bedford is the UK arm of General motors and the first truck uses the old GM stovepipe 6

Good to see the old Bedfords playing in the mud. My grandfather used to make the transmissions & axles at the factory, during the war churchill tanks and military trucks was his contribution to hitler's downfall.

+Chris Parkhurst My Dad was in the BEF, Dunkirk and back again in 1944 at D Day in an office bodied QL in which he chased about Northern France , ending up in Holland during his time in the RASC. So he was THERE. He was desperate for Britain to be in what was then called ' The Common Market' and never forgave General DeGaulle for blocking Britains admission into what was then 'The six'. I voted to go in in 1975.
