    You can almost sense that Scammell thinking to itself "ok, just give me a second to get myself psyched up for this. Ok I'm ready, Let's go!"

    I would love to own one of these magnificent 6X6 monsters & turn it into a expedition vehicle with a living quarters on an extended rear. I know they do not go very fast but with one of these who would want to go flat stick, being able to go virtually anywhere would be all the enjoyment I would ever want. To me there is just something in the look of the Scammell that oozes power & capability, unlike the American counterpart, perhaps I am showing my age a little because I also love the old Blitz as well, as a matter of fact I still have the original workshop manual covering all of the different variants of the Blitz or Canadian Military Patent Vehicles.

    This hauler is designed to haul, not off road hill climbing!

      well they where designed to rescue stranded tanks in fields so yes that were used for off-roading hence the crazy suspension flex they have

    Should have fitted Helical Bar-treads . It was only the Rubber that stopped them .

    Did the Scammells use the Meadows Diesel engines?

    • @marcush131
      @marcush131  Před 4 lety +2

      Originally they were Meadows petrol engines, this Scammell currently runs a Rolls Royce 265 Eagle diesel

      @@marcush131 thanks for the info Marcus I was looking at buying another British truck that has a Rolls Royce engine in it a 6 wheel drive Stolly but decided against it because of an already long line of restorations in front of me, I would love to learn about them but the time just keeps getting tougher to devote to these trucks! Thanks again for the info!

      @@marcush131 Marcus its SO COOL that you owned one did you ever swim it? that to me would be extremely nerve wracking after you put all that time into restoring it and getting it done to have the damn thing sink because I forgot some plug that was supposed to be in it. In my research on the Stolly the jet drives seemed to be a big maintenance issue with them and like you said Marcus they are a true bugger to work on! I need to sell a couple trucks this coming summer then I am looking for a Russian GAZ 66, I dont have a clue why but I just think they are offroad beasts, I found one in Florida that looked complete and beautiful but when I called on it the fellow had sold it for 7000.00 USD so it went pretty cheap on top of it being gone. I have a Unimog that I just love, this is the 3rd one I have owned and I doubt I will ever sell this one. I am going to sell an M920 semi tractor with 1300 original miles, I am also selling my first truck is a 71 Deuce and I restored a 53 M37 Dodge that one is going in the spring also Marcus. I do think its just plain neat as heck you owned a Stolly that is a huge feather in your cap Marcus!

      @@karlk6860 Lol, the Stolly was cool but just a pain! I never did swim mine but I have been in them in water, it's weird being below the water line sat in the cab! Gaz66 is a good truck, I have a Zil 131 and Praga V3s
