- I'm Back in Cumbria on the reverse 'Lakeland Loop' motorbike tour in the very scenic Cumbrian Lake District in England.
From the 'Bikers Britain' book, this 155 mile, 4-5 hour ride goes through 6 mountain passes : 'Honister Pass', 'Newlands Pass', 'Whinlatter Pass', 'Hardknott Pass' which is the 2nd steepest road in Britain at 33% the 'Wrynose Pass' & 'Kirkstone Pass'.
Based in Alston so we get to ride our bikes over the 'Hartside Pass' once describes as the most beautiful A road in England. At the end of the day we retrace our steps back over the 'Hartside Pass' & back to the b&b!
It's a bucket list ride to do for sure! Absolutely awesome!
