  • Sky News host Danica De Giorgio has applauded Opposition Leader Peter Dutton for his proposed migration measures as “few people" are willing to have the debate.
"It was not front and centre at the last election, with no policy from either side," Ms De Giorgio said.
"Yet, permanent and long-term overseas arrivals are outpacing the construction of new homes at a rate of almost four to one."

Thursday night's interview by Sarah Ferguson with Dutton after his budget response was painful to watch.
Her staccato, disruptive interrogation was agenda driven rather than enquiring.
Her weapons of 'inquisition' like torture to both the guest, Dutton and the viewers were out of context, unqualified statistics that when questioned by Dutton, she admitted 'I don't know, I'm not an expert'. And she calls herself a professional journalist? A loose interpretation at best. More the soundboard for undeniable labor bias.
Not allowing Dutton to complete a sentence in most instances is a journalistic faux par, par excellence and her glib angst and ever increasing interjections that were being fired at a frenetic pace, agony to watch. I believe one third of the words spoken in the interview were hers. That's not how an interview works, Sarah.
This was not journalism, it was sadism and it made me feel quite ill to watch.
Simply, Ferguson is not a good interviewer or more precisely, not an objective interviewer, which is not what the case should be from a national broadcaster. Ferguson did not enquire, she instead endeavoured to shepherd her guests into the answers she wanted, like a Kelpie directing sheep in a paddock, through conniving, arrogance and intimidation.
She is however a wonderful propagandist for the Labor party. Ferguson is the reason I stopped watching 7:30, some time ago.
I want to be informed, not watch her guests lacerated and mauled by a one-eyed sadistic pirate called Sarah who happens to have a brutally blunt 'Left' hook and absolutely no objectivity.

I'll bet she's not brave enough to ask Jordan Peterson for an interview. He'd mince her rudeness to shreds. She needs to be taken on at her own game. Disgraceful journalism. The 7.30 report is nothing more than a Sarah Ferguson left wing editorial and you'd have to wonder why she bothers inviting guests when she'd rather be the one doing the talking.

I'd like to put this up for thought.
There has been many a discussion about our approach toward asylum seekers and border protection, and I hope we have moved on from this because it's an issue that I feel should have been resolved long ago (that's if it hasn't already). Many say we are racist and show no compassion. So, consider this.
What do you think would happen to you if you jumped in a boat and attempted to sail to, let's say, Afghanistan?
Now, I have never been to Afghanistan, nor do I have any desire to go there. But I reckon it's a pretty safe bet that if you tried to land there before they sink the boat, chances are you would be captured and held prisoner at gunpoint, you'd be taken to a prison camp, beaten and tortured, and either placed in front of a firing squad and shot, or, you'd just disappear.
The point I'm trying to make is this. Do you think they would show you the same compassion if you tried to land on their shores? Not on your life! So for those who think we are racist and show no compassion, stop and have a think about that. And just in case someone says "Why should we be like them?" I'll bet you wouldn't be thinking that if you were standing in front of a firing squad.

It's not just migration. Foreign ownership needs ro be banned. It's what's driving the housing market up.. 60k land now 400k affordable land. Cheaper to buy a house. More people into home ownership. And less renter's. There was no housing crisis early 2000s during the boom. My older sister purchased a land and house package back in 2004, 233k for a 34 square 4 bedroom house on a large block of land now valued at 980k in an outer suburb of Melbourne. Her land was only 60k It's the price of land is doing the damage for affordability. The government needs to get it back down. They can do this by capping land prices per meter square per area. Land prices should not have jumped from 60k to 400k in 20 years. It has never been hurd of especially in outer suburbs or country. Real eastes business people and foreign ownership have been using Australia boom as a porn raising as much value as they can on each property they sell or purchase as a money maker. It should have never been allowed. Australia is suffering from people who are greedy and did the wrong thing. But none of them will admit to it. It is I don't care as it was allowed. Now the country is in the shambles. High migration also has contributed to the damage of availability of housing for rent. So Australia has been screwed over by the rich and the government who have caused the issues

If we PERMANENTLY BANNED non Australian citizens from owning DOMESTIC HOUSING ( many nations do with good reason) we would re establish the possibility of "catching up" on infrastructure, which has been ignored as an absolute necessary PRECURSOR to any immigration at all, and make it possible for AUSTRALIANS to buy a home in their own country.

The reason why its so hard to find a rental property is because landlords are too reluctant to rent a place, because if they have to evict a tenant, that tenant, out of spite, destroys the place and then the landlord has to spend money to repair it.
If you want more housing (or rentals) to become available, then give the landlord his power back so he can have the flexibility to manage his rental properties. Perhaps then we might start to see more rental properties become available.
Oh, and I'll add this. If a tenant is evicted and that tenant deliberately sets out to damage that property, then that tenant should be forced to pay for the damage they cause. Garnish that tenants wages and that'll soon put a stop to that. Make them pay for it instead of the landlord.

That's true too. It has happened. In saying that you have a point that rents have gone up and some people cannot afford those rents.

My personal opinion is Australia should have much less migration to around 60.000 per year. And New rules should be put in place to ban any foreign ownership in housing property. If you go to China and many other countries and try buy a home there not being a citizens It ain't going to happen. So why does Australia allow it here. It should be banned.

Where they coming from and what skills needed to qualify
Are they able to assimilate and amalgamation to our way of live

Good on you Mr Dutton for bringing a no nonsense approach in your proposed immigration changes, while i agree that an immigration policy is necessary with people wanting to reside in this great nation, it has to be at a sustainable rate to what the country can comfortably handle, these numbers are ridiculous at this point of time, there is no infrastructure in place to handle this sort of volume on a continual year on year basis, the economy is just barely functioning, interest rates won't be coming down anytime soon to provide relief for mortgage holders or new house buyers, fuel tax is just plain crazy, rentals are very few in supply and finally to put the nail in the coffin is the support structure for the incoming migrants on our welfare or benefits scheme just can't afford it as the only people paying for this is us taxpayers, to which we are already being taxed enough compared to other nations, oh and lets not forget the government spending regime of billions going here there and everywhere while our national debt is almost one trillion dollars, there is probably some items in this which can be related to our inflation coming down all so not fast enough , so in all Mr A as you like saying at times :- I wish you well.
