I once heard a famous makeup/skincare business owner say « she never liked a woman who spent more than 5 minutes on her makeup ». That has been in my mind ever since and I have to agree 100%. Of course special occasions are different. Years ago my long time group of friends went to Vegas to celebrate our collective 40th birthdays. A stranger to our group was asked who she thought was youngest and she pointed to me because in her words I had the most natural looking face. Plus itâs been my experience men donât like to see heavy makeup on women!
Haha, I LOVE that you called out beret wearers! Such a fun video đđ»đđ»
Your dog is adorable! My favorite breed!!! We used to have black and white. She was so lovely! đč
that beret part was hilarious đđ great video đ
Great fun with your video's. Thanks! Take care. Love from Poland đđ€â€ïž
When someone asks me why I didn't have kids, I ask them why they did.
hahahaha you crack me up xxx
Tiff Williams , yes but that is the rudest question ever. Some have had cancer or miscarried so maybe that's hard for them. It's just not for all.
I would quip -- if I had kids -- would you take care of them for me? That shuts them right up.
@@MsBackstager HAHAHA!!!
@@Cate7451 I know. Thanks for the insight, but I don't need it. I would never ask such a question as I do have my own health problems.
You are so right...my French mom cleaned every day! She was so neat she even ironed bed sheets and socks! AND...she always had a home cooked meal cooked for our family of six. An amazing woman :)
Rknrlgrl she sounds like an amazing woman xx
FrĂ©dĂ©rique Bros She really is . Sheâs 83 now which just goes to show that keeping busy and active can equal a long life :)
she sounds divine
Yes I just mentioned that too. Ironed the sheets etc. French and Italians are all about quality.
Who has time for this!? If I was a housewife maybe...
A South African mama tip: don't wear clothes with rips, missing buttons, wrinkles, hems that are unraveling or fasten clothes with a safety pin. đ„°
Great practical advice for everyone, French or not.

Oh, the comment on body shaming skinny women was SO NEEDED! I have always been made to feel bad by friends that were larger than me. It is not right to feel obligated to be apologetic for your body, be it large OR small. I often tell my friends, "I would NEVER make you feel bad about your size, so please stop shaming me for mine."
Maybe time for new friends! I never make my curvy and large friends feel bad about their bodies and they never make me feel bad about mine
New friends Indeed, Better friends!
Yess
Thanks for saying this!
these are toxic people nobody needs around for sure. we already live in a messed up world with so much hatred and pain, so protecting yourself from insecure, unconscious, immature and toxic people is always healthy and a good idea. To me that comment was shocking, having someone calling you a 'skinny bitch' is just awful!
When you're an adult you're expected to behave as such. This woman is so gorgeous I can only assume they were suffocating from envy, it must be very painful inside to get you to be so hateful and aggressive towards someone you just met.
I remember one day my sister in law, asked me "don't you think it's time, to have a baby?"
I replied to her "why what time is it?"
the one and only hehehe but your sister itâs okay no ?
@@ms.frederique
Yes she's OK!
I can't have a baby, not without risking my life!
But I don't mind it any more, I love my life as it is!

Yes! The body shaming of thin women has got to stop. I have had so many mean, nasty, rude comments from other women because of my size.
V Esch take care đ„°
Yes and the people at work trying to make me eat their rubbish biscuits and shaming me when I say no thanks, when they know I don't eat biscuits đ
I agree, that the body shaming of women of normal weight needs to stop. People get so used to seeing obesity, that they forget what normal is. I am not even at the bottom of the healthy weight range charts used in the USA. Women at work just say to me âEat some carbs alreadyâ. It is so rude. They are also the ones who need to loose 50 to 100 lbs themselves. There should be more CZcams videos made on this subject.
FourOaksLiving WI I am so sorry that people talk to you like this. Yes people are so careless in how they talk to others. It is an art to say something good to others, something upbeat for them. If you say something wrong then be quick to patch that. Don't call someone by any name other than what they want. Get a grip on your own jealousy and insecurities.
In our young days, both my mom and moi were very thin. People would ask if we were ILL.
Interesting comments and presentation. Many women lack confidence, and express themselves without any filter or restraint. What they think comes out of their mouths immediately. When I meet women who ask immediately why I don't have children, closely followed by some version of why am I fat, I retreat and look for someone else to talk to, or something else to do. Such terrible manners should not be rewarded. I am strengthened by my education, training to be humble, and love for my friends and family who do practice kindness and restraint. Being a good listener is more important to me than getting along with such rude people, who often do not notice that I stop participating in the "conversation."
Ah ms. Frederique, i was laughing with you at your jokes; your laugh is infectious! I love your channel and I hope it keeps growing!
A Lovely Life With Luna love you đ
When women I don't know well start asking personal questions, I respond with "That's interesting, do you always ask such personal questions when you first meet a person?". If the person responds with "Oh, I'm just interested", I respond with "Are you always so interested?" I just lob the questions back to them. They eventually stop. If they ask me why I don't have children, my standard response is....."that's a very personal question." It makes the person look at themselves and stops their interrogation.
S U good one
WOW - I love this answer. Thank you for sharing
I must try that method! đ I get so angry that I just blurt out an angry response. What you do makes more sense!
Roberta Briffa haha we all do !
That's good.
American girl from the South here. A true southern woman does not outright "argue." You have to look for the displeasure in the length of a pause, lack of response or phrases like "bless their hearts." Also, you are not to call an older woman or a woman your age "Darlin, Honey or Sugar" . . . it's considered fighting words ; ) Thanks for the video!

My kids always comment on how tidy our home was. Their friends moms were visit and wonder how house always clean ! You just do it âș
sheila montoya you are a great mom đ
I like the part about manners & what is expected behavior when visiting & dining out with friends.

in my experience, the only reason a person puts someone down is to make themselves feel better for all the obvious reasons.
Virginia Conway year itâs call being insecure
Yep, they want to bring you down to their level. Which is low
Frederique! Your laughter is contagious. I love laughing along with you. I love that you are playful and do not take yourself too seriously, it adds so much to your charm and beauty. Thank you again for another great video!!
I agree, while it is flattering that people make videos on 'how to be French' it feels inappropriate if that is not part of their heritage or cultural background. Also, inappropriate, pushy questions from insecure women have always made me so uncomfortable and it is so rude and sad that they immediately look to judge rather than be gracious and have genuine and respectful interest in creating an authentic connection. I love watching your videos, I feel like I am hanging out laughing with a long-time friend. Thank you for sharing your light spirit with the world. Love from California! Also, Happy Bastille Day!
Tineke Phillips merci ma Cherie from California your comment makes me smile đđ
I loved this, that is called being elegant and put together. I cringe when I see people out in pajamas, or flip flops with nasty toes and cracked heels, thank you, very informative.

May be some day, Frédérique, you can make a video about how to keep our homes decluttered and neat the French way. This might help...try doing little tasks everyday so by the end of the week see how much you have done....tackle one room at a time :)xxx
How about always putting things away where they belong when you are finished using them?
And have everyone in the family participate in putting stuff away? Make it fun , make it a game?
@@virginiaconway374 But what to do when you don't know how to organise and because of that things don't have their own place -ow help, I think I am totally lost (LOL)
Loved this, thank you! I grew up in a very clean home and I'm quite shocked at how standards are slipping with 'busy' being the excuse. I would love to hear about the habits and routines you use to keep your home lovely. Our homes give us so much - shelter, safety, comfort, rest, the least we can do is look after them!

I'm so glad that you touched on the topic of body shaming and how it can hurt the feelings of those of us who are very slender. I am 1.68 and weigh 47kg. I am called horrible names sometimes and people presume I have an eating disorder. The reason for me being so lean is partly genetics but I was a professional ballet dancer with a corps de ballet and now I teach, so I am very active. Sadly it is mostly women who make hurtful remarks. I find this sad. As women, we should be respectful and support one another.
You are so straight to the point, I love it.

your warmth and humor and honesty are wonderful to watch! Strong work!
The clean home- I remember having this discussion with my sister and her husband, about cleaning before people come over. I don't understand that, I just keep my place clean all the time. I think it's easier to clean as you go. Maybe I'm just worried about what people will think if I die suddenly.....
Hi Heather, cleaning, organizing, it's All Good, the method to the madness is NEVER let it get out of CONTROL, just a little here and there, the bathroom, kitchen, USUALLY takes the most detail.. oh and when we cross over , or die if you will , you don't, won't ever have to wonder what their thoughts are, I'm a shopaholic, so clothes are Everywhere, but they are pretty much organized, neat , BLESSINGS!!!
Heather Smith I mentioned this to my classmates of 60:years ago about dying and leaving a dirty house. They said the new wife can clean up after my demise.

If you make the effort to speak some French, the French will really appreciate it. I have never had any problem in any country I have traveled to bc I want to immerse myself in their culture. I do speak fluent French and yes, it is a totally different language than English.

You are so right about skinny shaming! My sister and a former friend are both extremely fat and I never shame them, but they always felt it acceptable to constantly check on what I was eating and tell me I'm too thin. I'm 5ft 9inches and weigh between 9.5 and ten stone. A standard size 10. That is not too thin. When we've been to eat out together, if I haven't finished my meal or don't want to order a pudding, they're both on at me questioning my lack of appetite! Makes me so sick and I have to hold my tongue for saying something insulting to them, because they never seem to watch what they eat. Grrrrrrr!

Loved this session, and your bulldog is just amazing !!!
You are so kind
