  • How to fix a Ford P0345 engine code: Camshaft Position Sensor “A” Circuit (Bank 2)
    The P0345 Code is triggered when the ECM detects an inconsistent signal from the Camshaft Position Sensor.
    The Camshaft Position Sensor measures the rotational position and speed of the camshaft. The ECM uses this information to control the ignition spark and the fuel injector timing.
    Possible Causes of a Ford P0345 Code:
    Bad Camshaft Position Sensor
    Wiring Issue
    Bad Phaser
    Timing Components (Belt, Chain Tensioner)

    My son's car, a 2014 Infiniti Q70 3.7 L, V6, died and would not start. Brought it to my mechanic and he said the engine is gone. We changed the Fuel Pump and the Camsfaft sensors (both). Now the reading my mechanic is getting is P3045. He said that they will have to open the engine to check out what you mentioned and that would cost a lot. He told us to right it off as engine gone, but my son still owes $11,000 on the car note. I should say that my son was late in changing the oil (he has learned the hard way I presume). They said that they ran some sort of cleaner and added oil. My son's vehicle starts but does not go over 40 mph. They also said that everytime they run it they have to clean the camshaft sesnors from I assume from oil sludge at the bottom. I am not a mechanic but I don't want to right it off yet. Thank you!

    Hello. Could you please tell me how to check the sensor. I will start there. Hopefully, it's just the sensor. Thanks for the video and your time.

    I have a 2007 Lincoln navigator with a 5.4 triton periodically when the engine is warm especially during the summer time I get a P0345 code and the engine runs rough to the point you have to put it in park bring the RPMs up to smooth it out I was told that the timing chain the followers in the cam phasers have been replaced but I still have the same issue. It only happens after the engine has been running for a while more notice volt when you’re backing up in reverse could you enlighten me please

      That does sound like timing components, such as a loose timing chain or tensioner, but it can be other things. Each component will need to be tested to know what the problem is.

      I have the same exact problem.I'm gonna be taking it in today.Hopefully I have a good mechanic that can check it out and look deep into those things.

      I'm having this same issue with a p0345 and p0349, when I put the truck in park and rev it, it smoothens then start again after a while. A mechanic has checked the timing and phasers , they are okay. Any help?

    If there was to be a short, would it not blow a fuse? And if so, which fuse?

    • @HVAC_Mechanic
      @HVAC_Mechanic  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, it could be a blown fuse. Which fuse it is can be hard to pinpoint sometimes. If you can't pinpoint which fuse it is, you could check all the related fuses or check if the sensor wiring is getting voltage.

    P0206 po208 p0345 all together ?

    • @HVAC_Mechanic
      @HVAC_Mechanic  Před 2 měsíci

      P0206 and P0208 point to an injector issue on cylinders 6 and 8. P0345 Code: Camshaft Position Sensor “A” Circuit (Bank 2). It will need to be troubleshooted to find the cause, but I would start with the P0345 Code. An issue with the cam sensor can throw the computer off.

    hey I replaced my sensor after getting this error, would I have to reset anything to clear the code or would it clear itself if resolved?

    • @HVAC_Mechanic
      @HVAC_Mechanic  Před 7 měsíci +2

      The code will eventually disappear, but it is usually best to clear it with a scan tool. If you don't have a scan tool, automotive stores will often do it for free. Some people remove a battery terminal for 1-2 minutes to reset the computer.

    How much would this repair cost. Worst case scenario
