This is definitely the best year for the plumber. Not only did he get a feature-length movie that made Nintendo bank, They have a section in the Universal parks here in America(with another one opening a year and a half later), A bunch of remasters and remakes of popular games of old and a new Mainline 2D game that not only fill out the line up but also boost their branding further since most the games parallel what happened in the movie(Castle Bowser from Wonder, Toad town from Mario RPG, the remake of Mario vs Donkey Kong and etc.). I'd say compare to last year, Mario is basically is going to be in everyone's mouth by the time this year's over the next one come around.
Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass also changed the meta, game was basically Waluigi wiggler (though DK & Roy share the same stats, but they blocked the screen slightly whereas Waluigi didn't) So was great seeing more characters & vehicles being viable, though Yoshi seems to be the Defacto pick if you're in higher tiers of competitive play. Mario RPG was a game that wasn't on my radar at all but decided to get it when I saw it was 16% off on amazon and I blasted through the game in 3 days and am still watching videos about it even though I've basically completed the game. Wonder was phenomenal, I actually bought Deluxe U and that was my first 2D Mario game, wanted wonder to be my first 2D Mario experience and I'm glad it wasn't because I could appreciate the changes a lot more. Might buy origami king and play that whenever I get paid, heard it wasn't the best but want to get a feel for the paper Mario series before TTYD remake comes out. Can't wait for 2024, hoping they announce the new Mario Kart game!
Maybe... the only thing missing was the big 3D Mario game. If they released the peach game, Mario Vs Donkey Kong, and the Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Remake this year, then it wouldve been considered the best year for the Mario franchise
2023 was Nintendo's extremely good year for Mario😃😃. I can hardly wait for the next years' extreme surprises and excitements😁😁. I am sure they will be extreme dreams come true as well😉😉. Life will never ever stop getting better and better with more and more games and stuff coming🤩🤩.
This year was good for Mario. I wouldn’t call it best. Because in 2017 we had super Mario odyssey and I think that year was better for Mario but this year was definitely great for Mario hopefully in 2025 we get the true Mario year

Same I agree, now all we need now is Mario kart 9, new 3D Mario and more Mario universe characters in other games and the Mario franchise is set!
