I would be down playing as Toad and Toadette in their astronaut outfits as I am a space exploration enthusiast myself
You should've added the sport variants of characters, for example Waluigi with his tennis outfit(which is very iconic) or Bowser Jr. with his golf outfit
Also Isabelle could get all her different outfits(spring clothes, winter clothes, etc. -> the ones she has in her different amiibo cards) and also all her New Horizons clothes
I think it would be cool if Bowser had his wedding outfit and/or Fury Bowser!

I honestly find the baby alts absolutely adorable
Luigi has already had kind of had a Poltergust in the Mario Kart series. The Poltergust 4000 was introduced as a vehicle in Mario Kart DS (which explains how we went from the 3000 in the original to the 5000 in the second), and it returned in Mario Kart Tour. I would love to see it be added in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
2 Extra alts for Bowser Jr Could be, Cat Bowswr Jr from Bowser's fury and a simple alt but Regular Jr however this time he has his Shadow Mario Bib from Super Mario Sunshine.
It would be super cool in my opinion if the “clone” characters were changed to be alts and then the different alts could all have slightly different stats!
Gold Wario would also work as a reference to Wario World and his many gold Wario statues you assemble to increase your health bar
And would be cool that instead of red Wario, we could have one of his many other outfits from WarioWare, which he does have quite a decent lot and can easily fit the remaining slots as well, but for just a palette swap, his white alt from Brawl sounds perfect, makes him look sailor-like and is also a reference to his sprites from Wario Land 2 and 3
He is missing the fact that in super mario 64 ds, warios power up was metal wario.
Baby Mario could probably have how he looked in Yoshi's island & Baby Peach could have baby pink gold peach

The Villager boy and girl variants are technically costumes already as they were combined on the Wii U version
A better idea for Superstar Mario would be to turn Baby Mario into this form when using the Super Star
I feel like Koopa Troopa should have one or two Paratroopa skins. Red Paratroopa was in Double Dash after all, and has been playable in a handful of Mario sport games.
Dude didn’t just give toad and todette colors like some of the other characters, but gave donkey Kong different colors.💀
Ludwig should have a pianist/composer alt inspired by someone like Beethoven. Link could also get an archaic alt.
I like a lot of the gliders too. Even a good chunk of the Parafoil reskins are neat with the in universe brand sponsors or ones like the Mario Bros. Parafoil.
Honestly it shocks me that after having Bikes added way back in MKWii that Wario's Biker/Wario Ware outfit hasn't became an alt yet

Fun Fact: The male and female Villagers were originally one character in the original Mario Kart 8 before being separated in Deluxe for some dumb reason!
7:35 If you need more ideas for Lakitu alts, we sometimes wears a special outfit for celebrations in Mario Kart Tour. There is a summer outfit that he wore during the Summer Tour in 2021 and a Halloween outfit during the 2020 Halloween Tour. I believe there is a winter outfit, but please let me know if I am wrong.
For the Mii, we could very well have new themed outfits. There are quite a few in Mario Kart Tour that could very well be added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
I love this idea because it allows characters like peachette, funky kong, captain toad, and paratroopa to join without taking up a character slot

Also a completely whack Idea that I came up with is that what is the characters could see different items different ways? like what if the boo is a boo for everyone else but for luigi its king boo? Stuff like that could be fun.

Isabelle could have her winter/autumn outfit instead of just wearing her summer/spring outfit. it works and it's adorable lol. But Id love it if nintendo added some tour skins. Like Peach's< or rosalina,s. Even Yoshi with reindeer and Egg hunt. I also dream of tour karts but that might be a bit much
Having alternate costumes for the princesses would be neat but it wouod also require making biker versions of the alternate outfifs
I have an idea for a skin to Lakitu. It's based on the boss in World 7 in New Super Mario Bros. DS. Which is like an evil thunder variation of Lakitu.

Drybones could have more alts, I’d recommend the alts he had in Mario Super Sluggers and possibly a ParaBones alt too those are just a few ideas, and another idea for some of the other characters is they could have model swaps where they change the model of the character from 8’s version to an older model like Double Dash!! for example I think they would be a cool idea
A possible way to implement the poltergust, is by adding more karts. Waluigi's excavator would be an amazing addition as well! They did this in MK DS and would love to see some more karts in 8 Deluxe!
For Luigi you could add the poltergust on the knight suit since it also debuted in Luigis Mansion 3
or just have a vehicle
For Lakitu, you could have Boo Pescador or Lakithunder alts

I feel like the babies should all be an alternate costume for themself. Like a selection just based on alts being the babies. And it could add dk jr. Baby bowser etc. or make the babies just a plain alt for the older counterpart

This may be a stretch, but if I'm being honest, I think there might be some potential.
- For the babies, I honestly think they should just be in one selection port with maybe some new ones and returning classics (Baby DK anyone?)
- The Koopalings will get the same treatment since they're the same kind of character except with more personalities and branding.
- Villager will also have an alt with the female and male both combined into one slot. Same with the inklings, and to fill the gap on each, one character from both respective games will fill in the slot.
If you think about it, excluding what you've mentioned in the video, that leaves 14 available slots in the roster.
Of course this might not happen, but it would be cool to think about.
This is a great video. For Dry Bones I think adding in the alts fron Super Mario Sluggers could be a really cool idea.
We all need to start a petition for Nintendo to add all of these alternate costumes to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe since they are already bringing back some courses from tour, and the classic Mario Kart games, also brining back some great characters. It makes sense to make one and get Nintendo's attention to do this idea. It will make me so happy if they bring Dr. Mario costume for Mario as it is one of my favorite outfits for Mario including the game as well!

Personally I think this is likely. Not every character but the big ones, Mario Luigi peach daisy Yoshi toad Rosalina bowser bowser jr wario and waluigi. Each wave has had something new to the game. Wave 1 brought different lap routes, 2 added brand new tracks, 3 added the half pipes back and the custom items feature, 4 and 5 added new characters. I’m thinking either new karts or skins
It is not just the costumes I love about Mario Kart Tour, it is the karts!

Should've given Donkey Kong, Funky Kong as an alt. I feel like it would work well. For Dry Bones you could give him his hat from Odyssey. Another nice costume would be giving the inklings an octoling alt and other inklings from maybe splatoon 3 as well as giving Link some alts based on Majora's mask or Dark Link.
These ideas are great. I really hope Nintendo does this.
What about the babies getting similar costumes of their older variants (like Fire Baby Rosalina). Lakitu having the shell swaps makes a lot of sense as well. Bowser could get his fusion with Cacletta from Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. Dry Bones cosplaying as a normal koopa would be hilarious for me as a costume for that. For the Inklings and Villagers, it would be "mega cool" if they worked like the Miis and if MK8DX could read your Splatoon 2/3 or Animal Crossing New Horizons data and add your Inkling or Villager into the game.

Assuming R.O.B makes the grand return of a lifetime, the Japanese alt seen in smash would work as a costume, but also costumes could reference other Nintendo consoles (which is what they should've done in smash). For example a dark purple for the GameCube or a red and blue for the switch. Purple arms with a light grey body for the SNES controller. White and blue for the Wii U. It would be creative. (I hope R.O.B is the last character)

Dr. Mario is one of the 5 characters that doesn't appear in Super Smash Bros Brawl along with Mewtwo, Pichu, Roy and Young Link.

I'd be happy if they did various power ups for Mario and Luigi. Fire, ice, propeller, acorn, cat, tanooki and penguin then metal.

I knkw this had to have been posted before Rome Avanti was available for Tour, but Gladiator DK would have been perfect for DK or even Donkey Kong Jr. Also, for both male and female Villager, I would have used the other official Villager artworks from New Leaf to match the New Leaf theme that Mario Kart 8 gave us. I know the Miis have the Amiibo costumes, but I feel like we should have gotten Mii Outfit B from Mario Kart Wii back as a free alternate costume Also, you seriously predicted Peachette's inclusion in 8 Deluxe and that's crazy!!!

Mario and Luigi could absolutely have their classic colour scheme alts (and this could be parodied for Wario and Waluigi) and Luigi could totally have Gooigi from Luigi’s Mansion 3. If we’re going with the White/Gold tanooki Mario, then we could have Cosmic Rosalina, the help mode from Mario Galaxy 2, as an alt for Rosalina, and heck, why not, Super Kong, who was the help mode for DK in Country Returns. Also, of course now we know he exists, Gladiator DK.
I just realized you could put emerald Luigi, to my knowledge he isn't in any mainline game, I just made him up on the spot
I don't think I would use every costume, but I would love playing online and seeing other players express themselves. This may not make it in MarioKart 8 Deluxe, but I could see a MarioKart 9 having more alternates, tracks, karts, and items.
Would also spice up cpu racers since they already rng pick alts for some like Link.
Would really be nice to see Mario Party get a shout out in one of these costumes for Mario or Luigi, where they wear one the outfits like the pirate or cowboy ones

The poltergust thing could work by:
1. They could honestly add it as an item that throws players off track
2. Add it as a LM3 styled car
3. Something else.
Just some ideas because I had it on my mind
For the splatoon ones, I would have given one last alt, being simple:
If you have a save of Splatoon 2 or 3 or both on your switch account, you can port your character from there, choose the color you'll go with and that's it, your own splatoon guy on a kart
The best I could think of for Baby Luigi is a Yoshi onesie since Yoshi rescues him in Yoshi’s Island.
For Baby Daisy, I guess she could get a baseball outfit since she was in Mario Super Sluggers.
If they ever did costumes for characters, Mario’s costumes could be based around Oddsey, whilst Toonoki Mario could be different power-up costumes like the Penguin, Cat or Frog power ups
Your ideas for Luigi’s costumes are great! In my opinion, I’d replace Painter and Golf with Gooigi and Mr L, though.

I think all characters should have a progression system where you can unlock gold versions of them as well as custom colours ( for example purple metal Waluigi or a light blue metal Rosalina )
