We make a heck of a powersweep at work (GSI) Its called the x series. The gear that drives it around the track is made out of 3/4 hr and ive cut a ton of them.
900 bushel is light compared to what we have been putting on our truck's. We are in the middle of wheat harvest and the farm owner said to put 6 combine dumps on a truck. At 8 ton a dump that works out to well overweight.
holy smokes! is that a state that gives leway during harvest? ya, i havent looked at the slips---it was about 905 bushels of soybeans a load; probably a little more for corn but not much more.
ya when it's coned down like this you can see pretty well how the corn is gonna act; you can see the hold ups if theres moldy spots and we try and knock them down before we go in there. i get nervous when we have to go in bins from the top---we really dont at all
lol,,there's too much corn for the damn sweep anyway,,that motor doesn't weigh 200 lbs, both together, sure,,and I agree getting the sweep thru any door sucks, esp. half doors,,ever seen the "submarine doors??damn round, way up there,,sux royal, what's up with the centerwell not working?maybe broken splice pin? be glad some corn was dumping. Good Luck Man,,it DOES get a bit warm!!lol,or humid as hades!!
You can seed sack over the motor and wrap wire around it to protect the motor from grain getting in it and leave the power sweep in it
I like seeing the bin cleaning videos with the power sweep, so keep up the good videos
right on! glad you liked it
moving grain is always been hard work. that is a big bin. made my back hurt just watching. that was great.
ya its always a blast but you gotta do it. glad you liked it
We got to old to wrestle with the sweeps so we put in the power sweeps that we just engage a lever a turn it on & we are in business.
that'd be the cat's meow. if he ever builds another bin im sure thats the route he wil l go

sweet! i gotta imagine those things are beasts! i can't even imagine the power sweeps in those 500,000 bushel bins.
Does that bin not have smaller sumps where the sweep goes
it does, theres two intermediate. sometimes if they aren't working 100% we just wrestle the sweep in
I did some farm work in my younger days scooping grain was the worst

BornToFarm101 there are no leways here in Ontario. I hate to imagine the fine he would get if he got caught
I just finished today sweeping the last two bean bins
fun fun, we got some more beans to haul before we sweep. im sure it was hotter than hot for you too when you did that?
BornToFarm101 yea my shirt was dry before I started at the end it seemed like I was giving myself a shower
Borntofarm101 1 sweep 0
just changed my mind about a bin I'm to old for that I. hope you have an escape plan if you get a collapse

its way heavier than you think . motor is at least 125-150. sweep is at least 150-250.
i can agree with the heat and humidity, i may start off in a heavy coat, coveralls, and a hoodie, and end up just wih the hoodie,
