    The lure of artificial islands = something governments should desist. It is quite silly and unproductive to maintain something that isn't supposed to be there naturally. I agree with developing sea-walls as business centers as it makes a lot of business sense (low investment, high returns).

      Total failure. The first phase was supposed to be completed this year and Indonesian independence celebration is supposed to be held there in august. But nothing was completed, not even the presidential palace which was actually rushed ahead of everything else. They depended almost entirely on foreign investment to build that new capital. Nobody wanted to invest. Now they have spent all their budget and nothing gets done yet. Basically, they grossly underestimated the cost of constructing everything, and grossly overestimated their ability to construct everything, not to mention the general incompetence of the people in charge of the project. This sea wall will be the same.

    @mickeykyrle4240 Před měsícem

    How about dismantling the many shopping centres that's not needed to start with. Then stop deep well boring also, build desalination plants to pump and treat water into the country. Create a pathway for the excess water to flow through by creating a man made reservoir, pushing sea water to areas that's been emptied by deep well boring. Create on land desalination plants for areas which don't have much water and that the desalination plant can help feed the local fields and restore ground water levels. Can even build a huge underground desalatinated water reservoir for a large amount of sea water, put wave breakers at the edges of the nation to bring the veriousity of the sea down and obviously don't harm the local ecology and corals with wildlife. Artificial rivers may even serve some purpose here to channel sea water to desalination plants to agricultural areas to help with growing foods etc. Soo much can be done without building a dirty great wall at obscene heights that's just not viable and then you'll have to constantly reinforce the wall and build up, which eventually will mean the sea level and the nation are going to be at odds. The nation will be lower than the sea level and eventually mother nature will take over and find a weak point in the wall and it's all over.
    Urbanisation is good but under responsible circumstances and that you don't destroy the area that your building on, correct assessments of the area to ensure you can build on it should be done 1st. Don't just build for the sake of building its a best way to destroy your land and then overpopulate an area which brings more issues than solutions. Sometimes to go backwards is better than going forwards and that protecting the land is much more vital than just slapping up buildings everywhere.

      Hidup manusia lebih penting daripada hidup binatang.. Coba tanya negara-negara barat atau orang-orang barat..!! mereka sudah melakukan itu sejak revolusi industri 200 tahun lalu..

      Yeah, I totally agree with you some people think animal lives are not valuable, but remember God created animals and He is the same being that created humans meaning that animal lives are just as important as human lives, and not only are animals important religiously but also scientifically marine lives are important for marine ecosystems so without marine lives marine ecosystems will be doomed.

      The beach or seashore around the seawall project has already been polluted anyway - since like 30 years ago, because of the industries nearby
