Today I finally decided to try to make a completely custom case for the well-known zippo lighter. And I must tell you, it turned out well!

Thks a bunch Bonn, learned from this. How did you get the top piece and where was the mold when you were pouring the brass? Lastly I'm wanting to learn how to do basically this except just a standard shell in different metals, some precious. Could you give some tips? I thought it would be quite a bit harder than you make it seem though Im sure that has a lot to do with your experience and skill

This is so cool. I've made a few lighter sleeve and I always have a problem with them being to snug after casting. How do you compensate for shrinkage in the casting?
You use a handpiece and burr to remove some of the material from the inside
I’m talking about once it’s cast - then you can remove some material from the inside and improve the fit

именно в неё за пару дней уходит весь бензин...
заправлять её нужно через день?
Нет красиво и волшебно, но я бы понял такой корпус из золота, или хотя бы серебра, ну и ИМХО, может лучше было бы оставить родной корпус а сделать свой в виде чехла?
