  • I love my Holmes Hobbies SHV500v3 high torque servo, but it did die a few weeks after I received it. Because of pandemics and parts availability it's taken a while to get a warranty one delivered but it's here so it's time to install and test again.

    Thanks, really helpful, other reviewers tell how good it is but don't explain or show how to hook up the connection directly to the lipo as you have clearly done 👍🏻. Subscribed!

    Funny you say about the twitching... My PowerHD brushless servo did exactly that after a few weeks....

      Nice! I’ve moved to servo on axle with this now and it’s a beast

    When that one breaks have a look at the promodler DS930BLHV..

      I’ll just chuck the AGFRC back on to be honest

    How long have you been using green locktite, that is for permanent bonding is it not? Are you able to remove that horn once that sets?

    Hi there. I know this question was answered but wasn't really what I was after is it the truck that was loud or the servo that is loud as I'm after buying one for my build.
    Thank you

      The HH servo is very loud, you'll definitely hear it working

    Isn't it possible to feed this servo with the adaptercable from the balance plug like the AGFRC servo?

    • @JustScalin
      @JustScalin  Před 3 lety +2

      It is, but I wouldn't recommend it. Balance plug wire and the adapters seem to be 2 or 4 gauges smaller than the cable they supply (and the wires on the servo). So I would be concerned about strain on the balance plug connections internally in the battery. The method I used ensures that the wire gauge stays consistent from the battery plug to the servo.

    is that rig that noisy in person or is it just the mic picking up that whine? That servo looks awesome

    • @JustScalin
      @JustScalin  Před 3 lety +1

      People say it’s not as loud on camera as it is in person. They must have gone deaf because it’s loud. Even worse with a shell on! But the control .... the control and power are just soooooooo good

      Yeah it does look good and a great price but not sure i could get used to that noise though

    What kind of servo horn is that please. Looks really beefy and I feel I need some.😀

      It’s the GPM one and I love them! The only type I’ve not stripped and it’s TRX compatible

    What if this servo is not plugged in the battery, just that one wire going to the esc is it ok?

    • @JustScalin
      @JustScalin  Před 3 lety

      The wire to the ESC only has signal and ground so it wouldn’t do anything

    How does running a servo like that effect the battery life?

    • @JustScalin
      @JustScalin  Před 3 lety +3

      Well it's extremely powerful so it will use more amps more quickly if you're forcing it to work hard, but under normal circumstances probably only lose about 2-5% of capacity but the performance increase vastly outstrips that (if you need a stronger servo).
