    In this video I go through how to install and setup your Flysky FS-GT5 radio and receiver, and demonstrate how the SVC compares when driving a 2WD truck on loose dirt. I'm pretty impressed with the FS-GT5 overall and it seems like a solid radio with some nice features at a reasonable price point.

The manual doesn’t say anything about doing that calibration to the esc. Also if I made change on the transmitter and the RC model is off. Will it work when I do as long as it’s saved? Thanks

    Hello. Im a little on the "still learning" side of RC. Say I bought two new Arrma RTR RC trucks and I would like to use a different, higher end transmitter for both cars. What do I need to buy and how would I go about doing this? Obviously a transmitter. Do they normally come with a receiver that works with it or do I have to buy one and put it in? How do I know which one to get that will work with my transmitter? Once I have them installed, I then have to bind them correct? How would I be able to use the one controller for both cars? I know you have to get one that has this capability. But would I have to re bind the controller each time I wanted to swap between cars or will a good transmitter have the ability to select which car I would like to control? Sorry if that makes no sense lol. Im having a hard time researching this info around the web.

      @chriscarr1647 Před 3 lety

      @@ferbmayne Hey Ferb. I bought the MT10 to get back into the hobby with my 8yr son. Now I've upgraded everything. Servo (ProTek 170SBL which is way overkill. Put the ProTek 130T in my sons and its great!), ESC & Motor (Hobbywing XR8 SCT combo) , Transmitter (FlySky NB4), Shocks (Proline ProSpecs) Tires (Jconcepts Premounted Choppers), Hubs (Hot Racing HRASLF1006 Aluminum), Dusty Dust Cover. Probably 500+ in upgrades 😂...way to much and definitely overkill but I love it all! I dont know where you drive but I would upgrad the servo 1st. Huge difference. And there are a lot of good options for 60-100. The Transmitter makes a huge difference in tune ablilty. Way more responsive and so many critical adjustments. As far as the Transmitter goes if you can afford it the FlySky Noble NB4 is a game changer. In my opinion its well worth the 100 more than the GT5. For 179 it has the feel, finish and functionality of the 500+ Transmitters. Its a steal for 179. After owning it I would of paid 100 more for it and would still be half the price of the Futuba's and Sanwa's. I'm not a pro so its just as good to me and smacks down all the other Transmitters in that price range. The GT5 is great too. I sold my GT5 to buy the NB4. But again if you can afford it definitely go with the NB4. The Dusty Covers made a big difference too. Easy to open and close with the zipper and way better quality than the stock. Really helps keep the electronic cleaner. The one for the Traxxas Rustler fit perfect. Any more questions I'd be happy to help. Sorry for the novel. Hope you find this useful

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  Před 2 lety

      the receiver gets its power from the BEC of the ESC, not directly from the battery. The BEC should be 6V or 7.4V.

    • @JeffGoris
      @JeffGoris Před 9 měsíci

      @@LRSTUDIOCREATIONS Yes, the ESC should supply a steady 6.0V to the receiver to power it and the servos. Only set the BEC on your ESC to 7.4V (or anything higher than 6.0V) if you know that your receiver and servos can support it. Servos capable of 7.4V or more will make your servos more powerful and spin faster for improved steering. I've never seen a receiver or servo support 4S or 6S type voltages (~14.8V or 22.2V). The 4S, 6S voltage is referring to the voltage that the ESC can use to power the motor. The higher the voltage you supply to the motor, the faster it will spin. The BEC voltage is specific to the voltage output through the 3 wire connector from the ESC to the receiver.

      It should be placed flat, but other than that, you can orientate it any way you want.

    Normally I look to you as a good reliable source of info, but have a little hesitation on how you did the EPAs. Aren't you supposed to do it with the arms sitting at ride height? Also I like to go full lock without whine & then bump it up by 2 just to compensate for the servo saver (if you have one). This is also how Ryan Lutz did his on his video. 🤷‍♂️

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  Před 4 lety +1

      Really good questions! As for on the ground or in the air, the safest way is actually to do it in the air, so that the tires are not adding extra resistance and giving you a false reading. Then it's a good idea to lift the arms up and down at full lock (to account for bumpsteer and to better mimic what the car is doing mid-corner as it rolls) and recheck.
      As for whine, it depends on how aggressive you want to be with the EPA and how safe you want to be. Lutz, Trishbits, etc. are pretty aggressive with their end points because they want to make sure the steering is fully locked with no give whatsoever (and they probably get their servos for free, ha!), so they will have a little bit of strain from the servo. I set mine a little more conservative than they do.

    Mine does the opposite. When i turn ON the SVC and also CALIBRATE, the wheels will try to straighten up when I'm moving side to side holding it in the air but when i put it on the ground the car won't run straight it keeps turning back around. If i turn SVC OFF, it goes back to normal and runs kinda straight but not as straight like when you got your SVC ON in your video. What am i doing wrong? Please give me some advice. Thanks 🙏

    You know what makes this video so confusing for me as a noob to the hobby. Is that you skip the bind part completely after what looks like the initial plugging of all the electronics. Which can be confusing since you’re setting everything with what can seem with no binding process. So you should say bind the radio with the car first and then....
