Nice review and good information. I've always just used AA batteries for my Xbox controllers, but have been thinking about finally caving and just getting the rechargeable battery for the Series X controller. If I were to get a charging stand this would probably be it. Good slip resistance on the bottom, and no unnecessary LED lights on it.

Everytime I have bought xbox rechargeable battery packs (they use the same model since xbox one products) the contacts on the battery became worn and wouldnt charge. I notice they scrape against the charging pins overtime and make them unusable. I have normal battery shaped rechargeable batteries without needing a different back shell, that works fine and last as long as any xbox brand batteries. Basically you're paying for a magnet and the convenience of not having to remove the batteries or back shell. Only draw back is the xbox batteries' contacts wear over time if you leave it charging on the stand play with it often. Id rather save money and have a product that lasts
Rechargeable batteries are another great option. But like you said. Sometimes it’s worth paying for the convenience.

@@RobUnwraps As for comparison, the battery in my "original" Xbox branded charge and play kit from several years ago is listed at 1400 mAh. I use it in my carbon black new controller. I have one of these kits on order for it so I don't have to plug it in any more plus I ordered another controller and charger kit in the pulse red color to use on my pc whose whole color scheme is red.

I already have a pro charger stand. I was kinda upset that the back it came with didn't work with my series x controller. So I have the exact same charger, but with a non compatible back. Kinda frustrating as I don't want to buy a whole other charger just for the back. These chargers ain't the cheapest out there ya know.
I agree. That is rather frustrating and this is one of the more expensive chargers. Maybe they'll sell the back plates individually off their website or amazon soon.
@@RobUnwraps also, I don't think you can buy a replacement battery. After a while the battery will start to fail, like all batteries. But currently you have to buy a whole new charging stand to get a new one. Hopefully they fix both these issues, otherwise it's a great charger.
@@RobUnwraps I just saw that you can purchase a replacement battery off the controller gear website. It also comes with a series x/s and xbox one back. 14 dollars, currently out of stock. But I'm glad I don't have to purchase a whole new charger for a back and battery. This charger is now the best in my opinion with looks and quality.

@@RobUnwraps I sold my ps5 to buy Series X and i liked too much ps5 official station charger. In Series X I see there are a few; Venom, Hori, HyperX, Controller Gear .. but I dont see one like ps5. Because ps5 official wasnt connected to console and you always can left your controller in it and it was great. Which one would you recommended me more similar to ps5 official station charger in Series X?? Really thanks and sorry for my English xD

Interesting, seems like Razer just bought out this product from Controller Gear. I just picked up one and the colors (names too) and overall design of this product is exactly the same as what Razer just released.
I have one coming from Razer later this month that matches the Aqua shift controller. Video out when it gets here. Looks like controller gear still makes these. I'm not sure if they made a deal or if Razer just jacked the design.

I'm glad you asked. It's a knife safety issue. Anytime you see me using the box cutter I'll have them on. They've also kind of become an inside gag on the channel. In videos I don't have to open anything physically it's like a Where's Waldo of how or when the gloves will show up.

I’d take this over the plug and play. Lasts about 10 hours.
Just buy a decent AA rechargeable fast charging battery charger unit instead.With better quality rechargeable AA batteries.Long term gives quicker charging than that been reviewed in the video and better quality AA batteries hold their charge longer giving better overall performance.

Which is better this or charging stand from power A?
Cosmetically I like this more. For value and function I like the power A double stand. But if you only have one controller I’d probably go with this. 2 and I’d go with PowerA.
Just got one, but the orange light start to blink after a couple hours of charging, then change to white, and then again to orange... I Will ask for and exchange
Did that fix it? I think it's because it doesn't overcharge and potentially loses a little charge then starts charging it again. But that's a weird way to go about it.

Can you charge the battery without the stand?
No. It's not like the plug and plays where there is also a direct USB connection. If you have the controller plugged in directly with a USB-C cable it won't charge the battery.
How fast does it charge the controller
Couple hours to full.
Where do I get a replacement battery?
You’d have to contact the manufacturer.
@@RobUnwraps they said they don’t have replacement batteries which makes the whole thing garbage in a year if the battery like in mine, has died.

Hey rob my robot white controller didn't work on my Xbox one s .well it worked at first but once I changed the baterries It didn't work anymore. It said its on and all but no I can't use it
You probably need to resync it. It’s the button on the top of the controller that has a symbol like this )))

Can you play while charging ?
Not without a lot of effort. The controller needs to sit on the dock to charge so unless you wanted to hold the dock while playing, no, no you cannot play while charging.

It’s officially licensed but it’s not manufactured by Microsoft. It’s manufactured by controller gear.

@@brightshinigamii1475 close enough that these docks work. They do have a different plate that attaches to the battery compartment for the controller depending on if it is the series or the one.
