👍🏼1 kitchen storage and counter space, perfect! 2 floor plan/space/storage. 3. Exterior kitchen (can’t camp without it)
👎🏼1 and 2. for 30,000+, it should have a second ac standard and auto leveling and back up camera. 3. I prefer a table and chairs to a booth dinette (hard to find negatives).
Great Design, I love this travel trailer. And it’s a great price.

    3 Dislikes:
    1: No electric stabilizers
2: This travel trailer does not have that massive storage closet with washer and dryer prep behind the entertainment wall with the TV, the Keystone Springdale 280BH had it
3: No solid-steps for the front door

Love the fact that there are 3 double beds besides the queen in the master bedroom (we have no small children--only big people). You don't have to disassemble the dinette and reassemble it every night. Also love the backsplash in the kitchen, but they need to extend it to behind the stove. Splatters of hot oil will ruin the wall material. More important to have a backsplash behind a stove than behind a sink. Lovely travel trailer. =)

Only wish they had electric stabilizing jacks and I don’t like having to crawl so far under the trailer to get to that one gray tank release. Thanks guys.

The best design I’ve seen yet. I’d like to see more counter top space and the fridge moved to the location of the bunks. Then the bathroom extended farther out into the bunk area with a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Then it could be an amazing full time unit.

Hey Matt, it’s Chad you probably don’t remember me but I stopped by General RV w/ my kids to say hello and meet you about 6 months ago. This was the RV I requested for you to review. You asked me what I wanted you to review. I was glad to hear it is your favorite towable. It validates what I was thinking of it being Uber awesome. I just think it is the best design and layout. It’s so open and perfect size and placement of everything. I also love the full accessibility to everything when the slide is in. Grand design knocked it out of the park w/ this one. One thing I would add is a window by the love seat to look out the back of the coach as there are no windows that face the rear. Most of the awesome water sites in FL are out the rear of the rig. It would be nice to look right while sitting in the recliner and see the water or woods. I would probably try to add it after market, I’m sure it would void the warranty but it would be worth it if it was possible. Take care man and thanks for what you do. Yer awesome. And yes there is some Art Deco in this camper!!

4 things I don’t love.... don’t like why is has no back splash. I think the head space at the head of the bed could be decorated better but it’s tolerable. Wish the storage under finer was huge pull out drawer. I agree with Will, make the dinette longer.

We love your videos - both the towable and motor homes. Keep up the great work! Don’t know if you realize it but the back bench on the booth can be taken out and used as an ottoman in front of the sofa. Also, if there was a back door in the bathroom, I wouldn’t want my small kids going to the back of the trailer to go in and out. Plus you need a “front” door so, unless you had 3 doors, you wouldn’t want both doors on the same end of the trailer in case of fire.

Awesome floor plan. I have the 2020 2800BH. I personally think the electric stabilizers are nice, but you loose around 6" of additional ground clearance. Ground clearance is very important. I purchased this trailer because it had the low profile manual stabilizers. I would not be able to put this camper in my driveway with the electric ones without tearing them off and causing significant damage the rear of the camper.
Its approximately 12' from the center axle to rear of the trailer. This means your entry and exit angles are affected significantly not to mention tail swing. Go w manual Jack's unless your going to stay in level paved campgrounds.

Great video. I can see why it's one of your favorite travel trailers. Was hoping you would go on the roof since there was a ladder back there. Hope it's prepped for solar/or comes with it already. I would opt out of the outdoor kitchen. Wish the U dinette was standard, in that it didn't have that narrow funky option of turning into an ottoman. Also not a big fan of the glass that covers the game device area. Looks like it would break over time. Overall great TT

Just a question Matt. I have noticed, and please correct me if I am wrong. but when you review units with slides, you do not show whether the area is accessible when the slide is in. This is a huge issue if you are at a rest area or a WalMart and you stop for a few hours to either catch a nap or sleep in bad weather or an emergency. Just a thought, as it looks like you would be able to use the back section of the van, with the slide in and you would still have access by the door to the bedroom! Would have been nice to see in action. But good review as always!

Every time you love the bumper for your stinky slinky I wonder if you have actually used one. I have seen few slinkies without the semi permanent right angle attached end piece to make a better sewer connection into the park sewer. The smell from sticking a straight hose that would fit in the bumper will drive your downwind neighbor out of his mind. If thus right angle will actually fit in the bumper you should say so. Very hard to remove and reattach.

  • @janeforever

Don't know if this will ever be read, but on your outside review you neglected to say anything about the suspension, the tire size & quality given the length & weight of the RV, and the slider's mover type (chain, etc). If you listen to Big Truck Big RV on YT, you'll get an idea of how much more thorough his reviews are. And I think yours would be just as great with a little tweaking & more info.
My likes: ugradability of propane tanks, diamond cover at front of RV for rock protection, lites above the bed, pots & pans storage, under entertainment area storage, entry area cabinet, outdoor magnetic latches (tried to see if outside doors were the extra thick kind-think so from slowing down video, but you didn't mention that), bunk bed area (we'd take all that out & make it an office; so that extra space potential is a big plus), the outdoor ladder & prep for furion & 2nd AC, & lastly it still has a bumper. We've eliminated RVs where the mfg has gotten so cheap they cut out that back bumper to save a few $.
My question: what about solar readiness
My dislikes: no pantry, no sink cover so the countertop space would be larger, the dinette. We have a similar dinette in our current RV but it's usable all the way around. It also has storage space but it's more friendly because you can remove the seat cushions & open the storage from the top, all the way around the U shape. So there is a LOT MORE usable & easily accessible storage. & lastly the table top is a removable if you want to have just extra seating. The Imagine's may also be removable, but it wasn't mentioned.

Don't like that the awning doesn't cover the front door, the dump and power in the back is a PITA for some parks, and the fresh fill being on the curb side is stupid. TBH my own trailer has 3 of those 4 flaws so it's not a deal breaker, but they are annoyances.

I would like to see an optional design for the bunkhouse area. For those of us who are single or couples with no children, you could opt for the bunks to be removed from the floor plan and that area would then be used to put a couple bicycles in it, or an office area, etc. I also have noticed that there are a lot of drawers in kitchens, but would like to see the slide type can holders, even if they were back to back. I don't think I would ever need that large of drawers for my kitchen towels. I do like this TT overall though.

Three things I like are...the sofa to a fold out bed, kitchen area and the storage. Three things I don’t like are...no tv in bedroom at that price, the u shaped dinette-need something my butt would fit on and the carpet on the slide.

Actually, Xbox uses RC signal, not infrared, so you don't need direct line of sight . I think old VCR DVD, and cable boxes still use infrared. Love the videos. Can't wait for your awards show. You should wear a top hat and have a cane.

  • @AnthonyBarthelCurbside

I know a lot of people are losing their minds over Grand Design but I'm just not sure they're much better than average, other than a few details. And Westlake tires - talk about MayPop brand. If they want to be grand they need to upgrade everything to do with control of these trailers - tires, suspension and all of that. People love the pretty and it's what sells these things but this design could certainly be more grand with better component usage.
Plus, a big toy hauler with that small an oven? I think I can think of many more than three things I do not like about this.

I like the u shaped dinette, but I dislike this particular dinette because of the lack of space on the backside. I like the price.

  • @michiganprospector8209

Crappy axle suspension and who knows if crappy tires because all tires are loved by you even if they are D rated but then you seldom give the tire rating. Maybe it is in the spec sheet Wonder if they have tire pressure monitor system because my favorite would have that. Wish outdoor speakers were lower. When high you need more volume which increases chance of upsetting neighbors and getting visit from camp personnel.

Dislike- when that trifold sofa is open... there seems to be no access to the bathroom. The one big storage bin is also limited to use as the control panels and hoses are committed to one end. The coat hooks are an impaling hazard.

  • @plektosgaming
    @plektosgaming Před 3 lety

Note that Will is wearing 2 inches of shoes as well. Without shoes on, he'd easily fit.
The lower bunk locks into place as well, making it a good toy hauler or place to put a litter box if you have a cat/live in this full time. My guess is that you would also put your trash can there as well?
The table folds down to make a bed, but it actually is REMOVED and can be moved around to be a coffee table!!! - Show this as well in the next unit.
    czcams.com/video/WiPH01eVW-M/video.html
The rear seat in the dinette is an entirely removable as an ottoman/foot rest and has storage. 99% of people would remove it and use it in front of the TV chairs. It's there pretty much for transport but is designed to be removed once at your destination, as you see later on when he has the booth without it added. (typical 4-up seating)
Also, there is a shoe storage slot near the door, and under the fridge are two small drawers with plastic trays - made for pet supplies and feeding pets ( yes, the lowest is a dog dish/water insert - lift off and clean! )
Coat hangers and towel bars as well. I've seen Class As without a place to put your coat and shoes, folks...
No floor vents, and an actual door to the bed.
So, lots to like, but a few negatives:
    - Trash can goes where? Is the cabinet under the sink's shelf removable? That would seem to be the logical place.
    - Carpet requires a central vac, which I don't see? (carper is OK, IMO, but without a vac?)
    - I like the bedroom, and it's a small thing, really, but add a laundry chute?

No neck wrecker tv view for at least two people wonderful. Even better if theater seating. Wish more tv info was given on reviews. Sometimes smart tv or hdmi or includes dvd player or brands are included but usually just passed over. No dvd player I am not interested. Don’t want to add one and many parks loan dvds for rain days. Todays trailers should all include wi fi booster and or cell tower boosters. My favorite certainly would. The best camping scenic locations have no wi-fi or too weak and poor cell phone reception.

    • @michiganprospector8209
      @michiganprospector8209 Před 3 lety

You are already ahead of most when you advised the glass door necessary for playstation use and that there was in fact a dvd player. I think many rv dealers under estimate the use of computers and tv’s for streaming or computer viewing. Also hate tiny ovens with no room too cook in. Rv sales people think nobody uses their oven because trade in seldom look used (ovens) but having to light a pilot light or relying on click sparker that seldom works or only having a 3” tall area to try and cook with leads to not using the useless oven. They also have terrible hot spots undercooking in places and burning in other places. I see some are getting smarter and options for bigger oven are starting. My favorite would be a three burner gas cooktop with electric larger oven and generator or a pre-wired spot for a generator.
