- Ahoy Legends! This week is a classic case of Plan A not working and Plan B saving the day! I had originally planned on chasing Yellowfin Tuna but after around 6 hours of trolling for zero fish I thought I better try something else. Thankfully I packed my jigging gear and managed to salvage the day with 5 fish in 5 drops followed by some more quality fish a short time later! Hope you enjoy the episode!

You are far further along in the slow pitch than I so let me pick your brain please. Ive purchased 2 rods - a metal witch PE4 then after more reading an evergreen PE4 poseidon for my ocea jigger 2000NRHG. How do you like shimano's rod if you may have been able to compare it to evergreen. I have quite a few shimanos from stellas down to toriums, jiggers & schadichs for trout. I did buy an ocea plugger for southern Cal tuna but havent had the pleasure yet. How do you like the slow pitch jigger rod. Thx. Really enjoyed the video.

Brother greetings from south america . Nice videos ... I was wondering what weight of jig were you using for the first king and also how do you managed to stay vertical in such a depth. You mentioned you were fishing 220 meters deep. Did you use a drift anchor?

Hey mate. I’m looking at getting an ocea jigger reel. I’ve started fishing the 50’s off the Gold Coast. Do you reckon the 1500 is enough or the 2000? It’s hard to get both the reels side by side to compare size haha
Were a fish here in venezuela the freaking tide rips ... I'm using 450 gms jigs on 120 mts of water and yet can't stay vertical. So far have gone out three times and I haven't been able to hold bottom properly.
One may begin to think you a fantastic at stealing fast food trays and shopping baskets.
Love to know how many Coles trolleys you have in the back of the shed 🤣🤣

Gday Sammy , I love your videos , particularly on Slow pitch jigging . . May I suggest to make them of a lot more value that you throw in more pertinent information . Those of us researching for knowledge are particularly interested in what depth you are jigging , how much current you are working in at the time , what jig weigh used and line strength and diameter if possible . Also importantly the rod rating used in the conditions . Particularly in the deeper water ie 100 Mtrs plus . A lot of videos out there say they are jigging instruction , techniques etc but only show action .
Your videos are usually a cut above the norm and it is appreciated .

Yeah mate it’s a HG version or ‘high gear’. 6.3:1 should be fine 👌👌
Hey bud, wanting to get a good slow jigging set up as an all rounder, shallow and deep. Only want one set up for it, would you recommend 1500 hg ocea jigger or 2000?

Hey Sammy, on these offshore trips, do you sign in and out with the vmr on vhf???
Hey mate, really depends on the trip. If I’m fishing with a buddy boat like I was on this trip generally not. If I’m worried about anything, planning a big day out or crossing a bar I will log on. I also give my old man a full trip run down including ETD and ETR times so he can alert anyone if need be.
I also wear a PFD1 and Personal Epirb at all times when fishing solo so I can raise the alarm if I end up outside the boat. 👍👍

What weather/tides/swell/wind information are you looking for when deciding to do bar crossings/venturing offshore?
