- Ahoy Fisho's! This week I find myself running from a cyclone to find some fish! With Cyclone Seth wreaking havoc in SEQ Whytey and I hit the road to find some better conditions to wet a line. 800kms by road and over 200kms by water later and we find ourselves in some near perfect conditions! Lets just hope we can find some fish to make the trip worth while!!

Yes Sammy I love your work I really do never miss an episode and probably never will unless you get ciguatera poisoning from eating giant trout. I'm an idiot I just worked out what you're doing one fillet for the mother-in-law the other fillet for the boss.

@@SammyHitzkeFishing next time you catch a really big trout and you're not sure if it's got ciguatera or not give one small fillet to the mother-in-law if she doesn't get crook eat the rest of the trout yourself. If she does get crook give the rest of the trout to Shauno. It might be the only way to stop him catching so many fish. That's what I do to my mate's when they do me up on my boat. I say have you been to India well get that India. All jokes aside what is the maximum size trout you would feel safe to eat.

How good are fish traps. I've been catching spotted mackerel on them in Hervey Bay
Great to see someone actually catching a fish in CQ. As you know I can’t seem turn a scale in that area.
Turns out it’s not that hard mate! Just head east 👍👍
@@SammyHitzkeFishing the further east the better. Being restricted to a 4m boat at the moment guarantees continued failure. Hopefully over the next decade I can afford a bigger boat I might be able to catch something legal sized here.

Yeah we call these ones coral trout. Very different it the freshwater versions!

everyone bags the old snot boxes but at the end of the day they chew near as good or even as good as a trout they just suck to fillet
Mate I reckon they are great eating particularly the smaller ones. I just usually let them go because they keep the reef healthy 👌

Your trout and cod both look to be groupers. Is the trout much better eating? You definitely seem to prefer trout in AUS while never seem to target the cods?
Yeah they are different species. Coral trout being the better eating of the two for sure 👌👌
